To explain my next sentences i do not intend to sound offensive but just to let you know.First if you are catching trout on (other) lures than flies are you in waters that are flyfish only? Are you fishing delay water that prohibits lures...As you see i have been on the bass board side and seldom go to this topic but this one had me wondering... :-/ I just hope you fellows are obeying the laws in our trout streams just as i hope you would by having your fishing license and obeying size limit,quantity on bass.On the other flyfishing sites this has come up about the bait chunkers and such and the problems we have about the trout waters being cleaned out during catch and release times and delayed harvest.I just want to warn those who are fishing these waters the flyfisherman are reporting violators more often now... Have fun but obey the laws.

I have to agree with kent on this one,i called megabass usa spoke with the man for 15 minutes,he basically said there was a order going out after christmas and it would be maybe 3 weeks but he wasn't sure.I asked about the year warrenty and he merly said that you are paying for a custom type rod and that most breakages are owner caused, in other words out of luck after a year and if it breaks during that time frame you might get a replacement in lets say a month or ? :-/.I'll stick with loomis and by the way anyone order from tackledirect.com before,they offer free shipping and was 15.00 cheaper on each loomis rod.

Raul i converted yen to us and they seem to be between 30-50 dollars more than some of my glx's,not even close to my T&T flyrods(540.-560.00 dollars)

Hey kent! :DI have decided to let the misses have the imx for that stradic and let the tackle monkey buy me a new toy!Unless these things are way beyond the loomis prices ranges! There website lacks definition on models,if you read the ratings for spinning rods they all mostly say for drop rigs! :-?What about a model close to the glx 6' light action for 4" worm,lizard rigs,small 1/8oz terminator spinnerbaits, small minnow baits?

What blanks are used for them,where can i see a price list on each model, looking at spinning models from 6-6 1/2' light action,HELP!!!

(1) Gloomis glx 7 1/2' 4 weight flyrod,galvan ob2 plus extra spool. I received a Stradic 1000 for a christmas present and am trying to decide to upgrade to another glx light spinning rod for the stella and put the stradic on the maglite or just buy a gl3 in light action for the stradic,it will be used by the wife to catch anything! : Always had the idea glx for a stella,imx for a sustain,gl3 for a stradic,gl2 for the lesser shimanos!

I bought a merc out of state and paid there sales tax which was less than NC taxes but a engine doesn't have a title .

On that last link was those black and gold stellas! :-* :'( :-* :'( I believe i'm having wish list problems now!!! :) I love my stellas so much i've bought spare spools,handles,rear caps,screws,drag knobs almost 150.00 in parts alone but they quit making my fa's. :-/

The eagles with the same features are about 50 bucks cheaper than there lowrance counterparts,only difference i see is lower watts on some models.

That alumacraft is a 16' bassboat with the front and rear decks already built in with a side console. I had contemplated buying a 16' welded jon with a full front deck but all had the rear bench and i couldn't figure out how to place two pedestal bases for the driver behind a console and a passenger. There is foam for floatation under that bench seat isn't it,how does the pedestal plates bolt down and hold with no reiforcement under neath?

Have to agree with catt and peter on this one,esp if the boat is a welded boat, the money has already been spent for the welded boat over a riveted so the extra money for the aluminum is nil...Hopefully when and if my boat sells on ebay by next tuesday,i won't have this dilema,i'll buy the alumacraft mv tex with a yammie 50hp for under 10,000 from edsmarine,nothing cheaper for that price!

Avid,i've found that strens magnathin works well on spinning reels but this year i started using maxima perfection that claims to be made for spinning reels and that stuff is strong and has better handling than the magnathin!

No! Winter time bass tend to stay near the deeper parts of a pond in winter,i've caught 20-30 bass in one spot with jig and pigs.My largest 9 1/4 pounder came in november at 40 degrees wind out of the north on a #2 mepps aglia with gray squirrel tail. Also remember in winter if the temps raise say 10 degrees during the day fish the sunny side of the pond,look for rocks,gravel,clay which will heat faster than moss covered bottoms.

This relates to pond fishing,i tend to catch more on jig and pigs and larger inline spinners like mepps aglias with squirrel tails.

Hate to drunge this back up though.The answer to the last responce,yamaha still makes several two strokes a 25 and 50 i know of. Now,the question again after i have gone and looked at several 15' 48" wide boats the console looks small enogh not to take up much room,the second question though most of these 1548's are rated for a max of 25 hp engine which yamaha makes a electric start 20" shaft 25.Will it run well on this motor and what speeds should i see with this setup.The reason i am still shying away from the 16' is that i still fish two lakes that are 100 acres and the ramps are a real pain,i cannot back far enough into the water to hardly unload it,a heavier boat will be that much more difficult to PUSH off the trailer,but then again will i benefit going from a 1436 to a 1548 on larger waters?I have narrowed it down to a g3 or the war eagle,alumacraft nor roughneck build anything other than a 1650,1652,but the g3 has a 15" transom... :-/ :'( :-[

Fishchris,where are you finding those props,i have a fourstroke merc 15 hp and i believe it has a 9 1/2x10 prop.I have tried to find stainless for it but cannot.

Well i was on the water at 8 am sunday morning,a small 2-3 acre mill pond on the wifes parents farm.Water was crystal clear and the blakemore roadrunners were killing the crappie! Fished til 10 only two hours and caught 21 crappie and 7 bream all stacked up at the dam bank.Boy those things bite light but thank god for my loomis maglite to feel em! ;D

Where is the cheapest place to buy the co2 cartridge life belts,not the vest type the belt type,i assume they'll hold my 220 lb body up if i fall out! ;D

See if anyone can inform me of another choice than these.I am looking for a 5' ultralight spinning rod to play with bream in small creeks.First and no offense here,i do not like the st croix avid or premier in this rod.I have looked at the loomis sr6010 in all three graphites,the gl2 having sliding rings put me off a little because of this.Is there any other higher end rod line that i'm missing?

Well i see that a larger boat is in order,the misses scares me trying to dodge me going from the front of the boat to the back.Here is my dilema,i am looking for a aluminum boat no more than 16' long,i have looked at the tex special by alumacraft,lowes stinger 160,and tritons 163 model.The problem with the lowe is that it is only sold with a merc 4stroke and i'd rather use the 2 stroke yammi 50hp,i think triton is the same as lowe on motor choice.Now here is my next choice.,i can buy a aluminum v hull jon with a solid floor like a roughneck 1652 or a alumacraft 1650 but what width is big enough to have a side console installed?Is 48" boat widths too narrow for a console to be installed? :-/ weight is also a consern for smaller waters but i don't want it hurting me in bigger waters.

Again roadwarrier saves the day! Ghost ,to give you a point the heaviest rod action i use is a loomis med action casting rod in glx.Now here is the differences,in for instance loomis brands there are the original four types of graphites,gl2,gl3,imx and glx.In each rod class lets use the cr722 casting rod it is made in all four materials,but pick each one up and they all four have a different feel to them.To me the gl2 seems to flex more toward the middle but i would say is the toughest of all four,the gl3 is a little stiffer and a little lighter,imx still lighter and feels more like a gl2,now the glx,the lightest of all but also the stiffest to me but with great sensitivity.So it may be depending on what brand rod chosen as to whether it will work for worms,jigs for you,and the cover you'll fish,etc.

Hate to drag this one back up but i have a question.When i took my boat in to have the old holes glass filled and new ones drilled for the new mercury i asked what about using my boat thru november early december and the lower unit.He said that unless a seal was leaking letting water in that the lower unit shouldn't freeze?I know my dad use to drain the lower unit oil each fall and put new oil in and spray the cylinders with wd40 and reinstall the plugs.Is the maintenance the same for a fourstroke engine? I really want to use the boat in later fall,i have a 1000 acre lake with not too many deep places except near the dam(45 feet) and the creek channels and the fish should be stacked up!

I am in search for a hinged hatch lid and well to place up on the front low deck of my war eagle boat.How hard are they to install and i want it in black since the boat is camo colored.I know i need to look inside the deck plate hole to see depth but is there anything else to look for. :-/
