  1. The guy called saturday night and said he was going to keep his boat,he then called back ten minutes later and apologized that he had lied and in fact the man bought his boat and he went and bought another one he had saw even after he claimed he had a check cut for me... > :-X Now that its on ebay someone has emailed me wanting to come look at the boat? :-?doesn't this defeat the purpose of ebay?Where they bid win the bid pay to paypal,no backing out?JUST TIRED OF THE RUNAROUNDS.Will be gone either by sale or traded in next week. : :o
  2. Has anyone owned or know someone that has had one of these boats?I am looking at one to buy because of the light weight sturdy design, seems thicker than a bass hunter type boat. It's more of a kayak cross pirogue design.
  3. Dealer will purchase the boat but would have liked if i had sold it.It is on ebay now,if it doesn't sell i'll take it to him and trade and go on with life... :-/
  4. Well the boat i ordered is in and ready for pickup,but...the guy that was going to buy mine is waiting on a guy to buy his!I do have the option of trading mine in,the dealer wished i could have sold mine, but i'm being held up by my man.Question, would you try and post the boat on ebay again since its fishing season very shortly or do you think i'll waste 40 bucks on ebay again. I could start my bid at 3000.00 and let it go from there instead of putting a hidden reserve in.My guy could drag as long as his man is.
  5. Foot control bow mount model wanted.I have leaned toward motorguide because of there foot pedal design and the motor heads, only thing i do not like about the freshwater series now is the gatormount,i prefer the older #07 mounts.I have been intrigued by the new wireless ones in the 450.00 range but they are 48" shaft models, has anyone had one of these cut down to say a 42 " shaft length. Is there a risk of damaging the motor doing this,a repair shop should be able to do this easily? :-/
  6. I looked briefly at that model boat and for the life of me couldn't understand why stratos would only rate a 17 1/2' boat to a 75 hp rating.I know when they made omc,the models 254's were rated to a 70 at only 15 1/2' long!Think it could easily handle a 90. :-?
  7. Forgot, the paddle wheel, temp unit is not with the transducer for depth right? I would still have to mount two units to the boat? :-?
  8. The boat i am buying does not have a tach or speedo and i would just prefer to drill in the hull for one transducer. How accurate are the depthfinders like a x96 with the temp, paddlewheel speed unit together? I know a tach can simply be plugged into the yammie engine and a gauge bought. :-/
  9. Went in to walmart last saturday morning, they had two 168's and a new 242 cuda in the display, the walmart sticker on the 168 was 74.96,the guy behind the counter said the 242 was 79.00 but it only had the bar code tag from eagle,he told me to take it to the front counter for checkout. She rang it over the barcode,$49.00 plus tax! Thank you mam!,serves walmart right for building on so much farm land and put stores 5 minutes apart! :o
  10. It's on craigslist now but you have to understand i'm in the NC area, you have to target the surrounding areas to sell items. Not many people will travel far to look or buy a boat.I tried ebay twice and the reserve was never met so therefore i had to pay both times close to 50 bucks for nothing, just consider 100.00 loss on the boat for advertising alone.
  11. Yea this might sound close to a rant but how many of you are experiencing problems selling boats on different sites?I have been trying to sell my war eagle 1436fld for some time and have people call and email but no takes. Is it that they compare mine to the i hate to say this lesser models like riveted boats in the like size?is it just not the right time of the year?I would have thought with hunting season winding down attention to fishing season would be on. I am close to the point of looking for dealers to just trade it in let them mark it up and sit on it and buy me a larger boat and take the loss and say OH WELL! :-[ :-X
  12. Have all three graphites,in spinning, casting, flyrod. If you are the type that is rough on equipment and throww stuff around choose the gl3 it's a tougher graphite, less brittle than imx or glx.Bought the wife a gl3 spinning rod with a stradic reel just because of the above statement takes a little more abuse. :
  13. At cabelas they have the bottomline1101 depthfinder on clearance for 39.00. I know it is only a 128/64 pix unit but i am going to put it on my pontoon boat for pond fishing to get a depth reading and temp reading.I can get a cuda 168 by eagle at bass pro for 69.00 or a 242 cuda at cabelas for 79.00 which both up the pix's but is the price difference worth it for the toon. :-?
  14. Give a trout the respect it deserves use a flyrod... A note on that if you are fishing waters that are for flyfishing only you better not get caught using anything else...
  15. I'll try and post this picture thing again if it doesn't work i'll delete my post. :-/ BTW it's still up for sale. 2006 war eagle 1436fld welded jon with 15 hp merc 4 stroke
  16. I'll start like this ,when my dad was alive we had a place on lake gaston at the VA,NC border, most day trips between us would bring 10-15 bass.Since his death i have fished a private pond around 7 acres, when i first started fishing it no one else other than the 70 year old owner who bream fished had never fished for bass.I could go in there and catch 10-15 in a couple hours with at least one every time going over 6 lbs.I stood in one stop where cows entered the water with him standing beside me caught on consecutive cast with a #2 mepps aglia a 5,6 1/2,7,and 7 1/2 pounder.Since his death his son has it and has let several (work) friends fish it,its never been the same since. So to answer the question if i'm not catching 2-3 bass a hour its not a good day and i'll pick up the flyrod and play with the bream to catch something.
  17. Look at the bargain section on both sites, you can get some good deals from time to time, other than that if i was looking at either bass pro or cableas and could find a falcon or allstar or shimano rod around the same price i'd pick one of the other three.i have two falcon coastals i bought to fish at the beach and didn't want alot of money in them because of salt water and i have been pleased with them so far.
  18. Well after many phone calls from people interested in the war eagle from ebay, ads on wral.com,and a couple ads placed at boatersworld, overtons, with people calling saying they want to come look at the boat, yea there interested, sitting at home waiting for them to call or show with time wasted > i am going to try and just trade it in.I have a new dealer that is going to sell weld-craft boats and the model i liked because of its size was a specialty boat a 1544 with a front casting deck, rear deck, jump seats console livewell,12v electrical system, welded with floors, sides carpeted, what do ya'll think? Link to the site:www.weld-craft.com/Specialtyboats.htm
  19. Got to disagree on this one,i prefer a two piece no more than a three piece flyrod, true todays rod ferruls are better than years past but if you intend to fish waters near then there is no need in multiple piece rods. You have to keep all sections in alignment, that many more places to possibly break and cost differences are more on multipiece.I still believe you loose "feel" over two or three piece rods.
  20. Question to anyone,i have looked at the creek company odc sport xl pontoon which is on sale at cabelas for 199.00 that i would like to use on our two acre pond.I will be using the oars for propulsion only and i will get a diamond tread plate made to fit the footpegs up front to rest your feet on so they are not dangling in the water, thoughts? :
  21. I believe they are spool speed control weights, color tells which is which but i don't know which? :
  22. Guess im a posse man too,two stellas and the wife uses a stradic.I had owned the stradic to begin with, upgraded to the sustain, then to the two stellas i have now and recently bought the wife a stradic basically because it was a smooth reel for the money and if she had a mishap(dropped) with it way less money than holding one of my stellas. The stella by far is the smoothest reel i have ever used, even smoother than my daiwa supertuned baitcasters!
  23. The only thing i will say is i did have a bad experience with ups on valentines day.Our driver that has delivered to me numerous times had been told not to fly 100 mph into our driveway like he does,we Had a cat that stayed near and i was sure he would not slow for her.Well on valentine day we came home from supper and sure enough there lay our cat right in the middle of the driveway, tiremarks from the truck over her,in plain site, both me and the wife crying,a good cat lost one that would follow me to the pond, anywhere,a phone call to ups still in the same upset shape with way too many cuss words said and a final responce, i'll use postal service or fed ex from now on,and trust me i buy quite a bit... :'( :-[
  24. fishbear have you looked at the fenwick hmg's or the loomis gl2's in 6'6" med hvy.
  25. Just so long as your not fishing waters for flyfishing only and watch for delay harvest waters where you have to release them...
