  1. Spinnerbaits, Spinnerbaits, Spinnerbaits. Get some white ones, and some chartruese ones, and some black ones. Gold blades, silver blades.... mix it up. Spinnerbaits are what that gift card says all over it.
  2. I hear it all the time, "find the baitfish, and you'll find the bass." How do you find the baitfish? How do you know when you have found them? Any tips on tracking baitfish would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Crank - Rapala DT10SS in the Bluegill Pattern. Gotta love those Sure Set hooks. Rattle - Berkley Frenzy, hands down. Black and chrome. Never seen so many fish caught on one lure in so little time. ;D
  4. Wow. I could not agree with this dude more!
  5. How can you guys tell what the "main forage" in your pond/lake is?
  6. I'm not gonna lie to ya buddy, used to have the same problem. I upgraded my line first of all. I changed over to 50 lb. Power Pro braided line. Same diameter as a 10 lb. fluro. Great line by the way. Another thing I did was I started to tie a "safety knot" on top of my clinch knot. Just a regular knot right after the clinch. Needless to say it worked wonders. I have 2-3 times as many lures as a I used to have, I don't find myself going into the bait shop every other day and buying up lures that I'm gonna lose soon.
  7. :oD Dude you're like the cyber version of Ozzy Ozborne.
  8. 4 weeks in a row? How bout all the fish are dead and that "bite" you had was a log. Find a new spot.
  9. How big is that terminator? 1/4 oz. size but weighing 3/8 oz?
  10. Looking for a 3/8 oz. spinnerbait with a 1/4 or 3/16 oz. size. I know KVD has a 1/2 oz. in a 1/4 oz. frame. Anybody know of any others?
  11. No. I completely disagree with your theory. While its creative and optimistic, it really isn't needed. If you fish a spinnerbait like I do, then the school theory doesn't apply. I believe the correct technique for fishing a spinnerbait is to make it appear that your bait is injured in some way. Run the spinnerbait into things. Timber, lilly roots... anything that a normal and healthy baitfish wouldn't do. Bloom the skirt at times, and let it fall at times. An injured prey is always preferred over a baitfish that bass can't catch.
  12. My advice is this... spinnerbait, and crankbait. Since the water is semi-clear, I'd throw a white spinnerbait.. probably with a gold oklahoma blade, or maybe even a colorado. Throw it anywhere you can. Spinnerbaits and crankbaits are the best search baits available. I'd throw a Rapala DT-10 for those deeper rockier situations. I don't look for creeks. I'll cast my spinnerbait right up on the edge of the bank and catch an 8 pounder sittin shallow in the morning. The best advice that I can offer you is to have fun while doing it. I honestly don't think fishing should be about competition. Sure, tournaments are fun, and we've all participated in them... but just remember you're out there because you love fishing, not a prize.
  13. This dude above me is right... they see you. In water that clear, you might as well just stay back about 15 feet, and try casting from there. Either way, sneak up on em. If the water is really crystal clear, throw a the most natural colors you have. Also, if you havent tried yet, throw a translucent colored or white spinnerbait. I tell ya what... if that doesn't work, just sneak up on 'em real slow and jump really high in the air, and belly flop right on top of em. Then grab the huge bass with your arms and yell.... "HAHA!! GOT YA!"
  14. Which do you prefer? Early in the morning, or early in the evening? Those of you who prefer pitch black night... just stay out of it. I prefer dawn. I try fishing around dusk but never have much luck.
  15. Shade. I still wouldn't pass up the sunny side, especially if I was throwin a spinnerbait. More flash in the sunny side, and I can run right up on the weeds with a spinner. So yea... both.
  16. hey Ryan, you fished your Sammy THROUGH that green stuff? No troubles?
  17. Hell yes they will. I've fished ponds that actually look like sess pools. Completely covered in those small bb-looking green balls. I'll throw a hollowbody frog like a Spro or River2Sea, something weedless and catch fish. If you drop a worm with a fat weight and get it through the green stuff, you can pull em out that way too. Good luck -Aaron
  18. Jeff City, Missouri Always thought Perry's 22.25 lber was the World Record Bass.
  19. just stumbled across this article. check out these pictures. http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/fishing/news/story?page=f_fea_bass_world-record_Weakley_25.1&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines
  20. Yea... I probably did that.
  21. I've got a really hard hookset when fishing soft plastics. Seems like half of the fish I pull in, its hooked right through his eye, or right there in along the edge. Its sad. I gotta rip this hook out his eye and make him look like a freakin pirate the rest of his life. I guess thats better than gettin eaten though huh?
  22. I'd mount it. Then I'd apply for sponsorship with all the good companies. I'd quit my job, b/c hell, I'm sponsored now. I think I'll just get paid to fish all day.
