  1. St. Croix Avid 6'8" MH X-fast.
  2. Sure. I use a 1/8oz bullet weight with a Zoom Lizard all the time and never have an issue. I also through 4in and 5in senkos weightless with this rod and again no issues.
  3. I have two solid black crankbaits that are killer at night. One is from Depps and the other is from Megabass. Both are small, shallow depth baits.
  4. Tru Tungsten had some awesome products, especially their bullet weights. I had good luck with those worms when they first came out but had better luck with Roboworms. If you got them for a $1 a pack, that's a steal.
  5. Those are the ticket. I replaced some over the summer and I too was not sure which to use. i bought a couple of different ones but these seem to be the sharpest and also very durable. They also seemed close in nature to the originals (meaning it did not alter the baits performance).
  6. I picked up a 51e this year and a curado 201g. In comparison the 51e is much smoother, cast further, and the drag seems smoother. Also, and it may just be me, the reel seems to have a bit more power when handling bigger fish. One thing I love about this reel, it's just fun to fish.
  7. I had the old version of the 803 and to me it was a magic wand but recently I broke in my car door and replaced it through the xpediter service. The new version is growing on me but it is a different animal. Personally I like the shorter length of the 803 for bank fishing. It is accurate and loads quickly, making long distance casts easy. I have paired it with a Chronarch 51e and occasionally a Core 101.
  8. I bought a couple of bags of Big Bite Baits and they still have caught nothing. I know some people love them and do catch fish with them but sometimes a good buy is not such a good buy.
  9. Paid a visit to my local tackle shop yesterday and when I went to pay he had a box behind the counter full of Lews reels. When I asked whats up, he said the knobs on the handles are falling apart. I did not get to see which ones as he was busy with people in line and we did not get to discuss further. Anybody else seen this or experienced it? I have heard nothing but positive remarks on the new line of reels from Lews.
  10. I have been using 10lb Yo Zuri Hybrid for cranks and I only changed it twice this year. I have another set up that I use 12lb Invisix for deep cranks and jerkbaits and I have not changed it since March of this year. In my opinion, I would only use braid as a last resort when it comes to crankbaits.
  11. 12lb Invisix and Trilene 100% FC are my favorites so far. I also using some 8lb 100% FC for finesse fishing on a baitcasting set up and no issues so far.
  12. Rods: Shimano, Fenwick, St. Croix and G. Loomis Reels: Daiwa and Shimano
  13. The Curado G or if you can catch a sale at Gander Mountain the new Curado I
  14. KVD stuff is all that I use. I have tried Reel Magic and it can do more harm than good.
  15. I have a medium powered cranking rod and a MH and for me the MH does the trick for most of the baits I like to throw. But I do have a MH Fast rod that is more sensitive, that I use when the fish are biting light or soft.
  16. Yep... I picked another 100MG up at Gander Mountain online for $210. It was listed as discontinued on their site. I thought of buying another but when I went back to their website, it was no longer listed. I called Gander Mountains customer service and they said it was discontinued and no longer available (even for backorder). Awesome reel.
  17. The Shimano Citica G. Just a good basic reel that can be had for around $100.
  18. I can't say I have ever used 80lb braid. 50lb is the heaviest I ever go but I have always liked Power Pro.
  19. Shimano Crucial Crankbait Rod 7'6" MH Mod Fast.
  20. I have the 51e and love it. I can't see where you could go wrong with either size.
  21. F250 any day. We have several 2500's at work and they all have issues.
  22. Anybody watch the Colts game today? Either the Bengals stink or the Colts are legit? Anybody see the hit Davis laid on Bernard? Go Colts
