  1. I have come to the conclusion that if I get a new reel, I will take it apart and check to see how heavy the grease and oil is. If it is too heavy, I clean it and re-lube it.
  2. I will be switching out several of mine soon and every time I research this subject, the same answer shows up.... Boca ABEC 5 Ceramics.
  3. I would say the Chronarch. It is a little smoother and personal opinion, the drag is better too but when you put in your hands it feels about the same.
  4. Depends on the water, conditions, temp, depth, etc.. But in general, I'll start with a 5in senko weightless with a 4/0 EWG.
  5. How Do You Fish A Chatterbait? You leave it in the tackle box and try something else...... Just joking..... I fish just as RW said above. It's a loader spinnerbait in my opinion. I have tried fishing it with a slow and stop retrieve and had no luck. I think when you fish it slow, the fish that is attracted to this type of bait is spooked by the sound.
  6. I have used them in past but I did just ok with them. I don't care for the sent though. I just decided to stay with sweet beavers.
  7. 4/0 EWG Gami for 5in Senkos. Anything bigger gets a 5/0 or the EWG Monster.
  8. I have a Marmot Oracle jacket and a pair of their pants with their version of Gore Tex ($200 for both). I also have a heavier Gore Tex jacket from Columbia and Gore Tex pants from Field and Stream (less than $100 for both). Just be patient and wait for a closeout sale. Two things to add, if you plan on using it on a regular basis check the breathability/waterproffing rating and get some waterproofing wash from Nikwax.
  9. I have tried and prefer Trilene XL but is not bad line.
  10. Not a big Cowboys fan but thought Dez made that catch. Hate to see games decided by calls like this. Anyway, go Colts.
  11. I'm not positive yet, but the tip does seem softer. I need to fish this rod to figure out balance and taper.
  12. Can't stand the pats...
  13. I have an older model that is similar to yours at work and when it comes to ink and quality, it is a great bang for the buck. I have over 50,000 prints on mine.
  14. I picked up a Fenwick Elite Tech Walley spinning rod today. I got the 7'2" ML Fast. It was such a good deal I could not pass it up. It seems to be a well constructed rod and I think will work nicely for long cast for just about any lighter softplastic or live bait. My odd ball, cabin fever, question is..... What is the difference between a walleye rod and a bass rod? I am sure it will work fine for both bass and walleye (most anything I fish for really) but I really can't tell what makes it a walleye rod. If you compare it to, say, the St. Croix Avid ML 6' I have, I really can't tell much difference as to them being a walleye rod and a bass rod. Thanks for the thoughts......
  15. Fenwick HMG or HMX. Both are under $100 and offer a wide range of technique specific rods.
  16. I have the Citica and it is a good reel. but if I had a gift card to TW I would save up a couple of bucks and get the Curado I.
  17. I just depends on what kind of mood I am in and the water conditions but I use both FC and mono, either 10lb or 12lb. No braid for cranks....
  18. I picked one up today at gander mountain. Can't wait to try it out. It looks like a solid light reel for the money. Thinking of pairing it with a Fenwick elite tech walley rod I saw there clearenced out for $99.
  19. The IMX is probably the best bang for the buck. The 844C is a good all around rod in that line up but the GLX line is noticeably more sensitive. Depending on the rod, they sort of have that magic wand feel.
  20. I use a pair of kids scissors for braid and the cutters on my gander mountain fishing pliers. Nothing fancy...
  21. Any more, it has been the NFL and College Basketball.
