Decent spinning reel?
I would normally say the Sahara would be a nice reel but after using a buddies Pflueger President, it gets my vote. It's a nice, smooth reel for the money.

Shimano Stradic 2500FI Impression
I picked one up at Christmas time with some gift cards I received and it is a nice upgrade from the previous Stradic. It is better balanced and cast further. I have yet to land a fish with it yet. But just from tossing it around for a few hours at a local pond, I can tell that this is one nice reel. Of course, I will have to fish it a season to tell if it is worth the extra cost compared to the old Stradic. At first glance though, the only smoother reel I have tried is the Stella. I can't imagine what the new Stella and Sustain fell like.

Whats your favorite Lucky Craft bait?
I have done real well with the Flat Mini CB's in just about any color. Second would be the Pointer 100 in Shell White and American Shad. But probably the funnest of them all is the Sammy.

Confidence Rods and Reels?
I would like to think that confidence in your own skills is more important than confidence in a rod or reel. But having a good setup will always help make things easier. That is, if you know what you're doing, a quality rod and reel will improve your chances and decrease your chance of missing that monster you always wanted to catch.

Need Help with buying Baitcasters
The Shimano Calcutta would be a good choice. I also like the Daiwa Zillion. But the best bang for the buck would be the a Shimano curado 100.

8 Lb CXX P-Line On A Stradic 2500FI???
It is not bad line but I prefer to use it on baitcasters. I like their Floroclear better for spinning gear. They also have a nice rebate going on. http://www.p-line.com/specials/Pline_Rebate08.pdf

Strike King Rage Tail Shad?
Has anybody tried these yet? I read on the package that you should rig them weightless with a 4/0 to 6/0 EWG but it was not until I saw the video on ***'s site did I understand why. Believe it or not, it's a topwater bait. I have to give them a hand, it might be a winner. You can watch the video by clicking the link and hitting video on the right side on that page. Enjoy. http://www.***.com/descpageSFTSTRIKE-SKRS.html#

lipless cranks
XCalibur has worked the best for me. I have fished the Rat-L-Traps for years and had ok luck with them but when I went to the XCalibur version, I just caught more fish. I also like the hooks better on the XCaliburs and they seem to hold up a lot better.

Hula Grub/Spider Grub Recommendations
Chompers is the only other one I have had success with. The GYCB hula grub in black with blue flake and a 1/4oz Tru Tungsten Weed Wacke is still my favorite.

Low buget poles?
Wait till BPS has their Spring Sale and pick up a Tourney Special M 6'6''. They usually have them for around $29.99.

Screw in Bullet Weights
I like using screw in weights for specific purposes but they do destroy the front of the plastic faster. I like using them basically for any plastic worm with curly tail (Culprit) or swimbait tail (Swimming Senkos).

Megabass lures?
If you could own just one Megabass Lure, which one would it be and what color? I know there are much cheaper alternatives but I was just curious.

Why the NFL destroyed the Pats tapes...
I never got all of what they did wrong. What exactly was it that they did to call it "CHEATING"? One thing I do remember is security officials from Motorola at the Chargers game (the game after the Jets) monitoring the stadium audio transmitions. Sometime during the game they brought in new equipment and rewired it. Why would Motorola be doing this? The thing that bothers me the most is, lets say the Patroits did cheat. Why would they need to? They are a great, powerhouse team without all of the inside audio and video. It seems like overkill.

looking for a reel
If you can find it, some stores will have the Shimano Stradic 2500 (old style) on sale for around $75-$100. If not the Symetre would make for a great reel. One other suggestion would be the Pflueger President.

Retired People ( You Got To Love'em )
Years ago my mother and father retired and moved to Bradenton/Palmetto, Florida. For fun, the retired folks would sit at the corner of 59th and Manatee Ave to watch all of the car wrecks. There is at least 10-20 a day depending on how busy the outlet mall is. I guess if you have a pulse they will give a driver's license to anybody down there. Most of the accidents are old folks driving big cars, real slow so there is not much damage or injury done but there sure is a lot of yelling going on. These guys need to pick up a hobby....

Not a bass, but......
That is one big fish. What was left of the Megabass vision 110? Nice catch. Congrats.

New GYCB Slim Senko Pro?
I saw these on the GYCB website. Anybody tried them yet? I am not a big fan of the shakey head tech. but it might be something new to consider. http://www.baits.com/cgi-bin/order/9P-10

Using coffee to scent your worms?
I bought one pack of the new Coffee Tubes just to try it out. I went back to buy some more at my local tackle shop and they were all sold out. The tackle shop owner said it was the hottest new item they have stocked so far this year. I have yet to hear of or see anyone catch a fish with them yet. One things for sure I like the smell and Strike King has come up with some great colors. They may have a winner on their hands.

Fireline Crystal
I tried Fireline a few years ago and thought it was the best ever the first 15 minutes I used it. After that, it quickly became one of the worst. I had high hopes but after losing several baits, I will not use it again. >
