Organizing Tackle
I have the Plano Edge jig box and like it a lot! You need to time the purchase of these Edge boxes when they go on 1 day flash sales on Amazon for half price otherwise you could spend some serious coin buying these boxes. I also bout a 4 in 1 Lure Lock system that is really slick and I was able to fit all of my crankbaits in it, thinking about buying another one for my lipless and jerk baits, that sticky gel really holds and the baits look nice all lined up in a neat row without sliding all over the place!

Has Anybody Used One of These for Knot Tying?
I’m thinking this could help with other line to leader knots too but if it ends up being useless and just collects dust it won’t be the first $20 I’ve wasted on fishing and won’t be the last ?. I’ve got some Tatula’s and with that t-wing system there are very few leader knots that will pass through without getting hung up, the FG is one that if tied tight enough is slim enough to pass through unhindered.

Has Anybody Used One of These for Knot Tying?
I found a knock-off version that looks almost identical on eBay from Hong Kong for $20 so I bought that instead. At least it's only $20 and not $45 so if it turns out to be useless I'm not out too much :).

I mean if this thing was $15 - $20 I might think about it but $45 seems steep for what it is/does.

Has Anybody Used One of These for Knot Tying?
I know most people can tie an FG knot with varying degrees of success but has anybody ever tried the Daiichi Knot Assist 2.0? It looks like it works well but I'm just having a hard time justifying spending $45 on something that looks like such a simple device.

The latest sale thread
This is an erroneous link! I clicked and couldn't see much of anything on sale so I called Tackle Warehouse and spoke to them. the guy I got said they aren't running a sale right now and that the link I got must have come from a Google search for an old sale. I explained that it clearly says 2021 Spring Sale and has the proper dates but he started to get testy with me and said "Sir, if you go to tacklewarehouse.com right now instead of following that link you'll see there is no sale banner...now, is there anything else I can help you with". I thanked him and said no and that I'd post here and let people know this link was in error and he said "Okay, good bye". I must say that's the first time I've ever been treated rudely by Tacklewarehouse staff...must be getting a lot of calls like mine and is getting a little frustrated at repeating the same message to customers!

Frogs
Oh man, I LOVE frog fishing. I'm a frog addict and I admit it...lol. I'm sure the Booyah works but it's never really interested me for some reason. I have a TON of frogs and they all work well. If you're just starting out with frogs and want to "walk the dog" with them I would highly suggest the Terminator Walking Frog. It is stupid easy to walk...even for me who struggles at times to consistently do it well. After that, I like the Spro King Daddy for mats (HUGE frog). I don't fish poppers much but when I do I have some Jackall Gavacho's that work well and I just ordered some 6th Sense Vega frolgs that are a popper hybrid and can't wait to try them out. Teckel Sprinkers and Boyah Toadrunner's are like weedless Whopper Plopper's so you should try a couple of those too. River2sea Bully Wa 2's are great open water frogs. As you can see...I have a few . If you're just starting out though I'll stillcircleback around and recommend the Terminator!!!

Whopper Plopper 60
What rod is that?

Whopper Plopper 60
Were you using casting gear or spinning gear? I'm thinking with the 60 being so light it would be much better on a spinning setup.

What Does Your Dicks Sporting Goods Look Like?
I couldn’t get the entire fishing section in my pics so it’s actually spread out much farther than the pics make it look like...it’s actually pretty impressive selection for a store that doesn’t specialize in just hunting and fishing.

What Does Your Dicks Sporting Goods Look Like?
I have heard how some DSG's across the country have pretty much gone out of fishing tackle etc. I was at my local DSG the other day and asked one of the managers if I could take some pictures to share with you guys. He obliged and I explained that some DSG's were going out of fishing stuff and he said it all depends on how much competition they have in a particular market, for instance our DSG is probably the biggest tackle shop in Vermont but in other areas where there's a Bass Pro, Cabelas, Academy etc. they'll concentrate on something they are more competitive in like the ball sports. Our local store he said happens to be in the top 10 nationwide for fishing supplies out of their 700+ stores. Anyhow, this is what mine looks like, what does yours look like?

Dobyns Fury 795SB w/Daiwa Tatula 200...who has this setup?
PM'd you.

Dobyns Fury 795SB w/Daiwa Tatula 200...who has this setup?
If I upgraded to a Fury 806 would the Daiwa Tatula 200 I already have be an adequate reel for that rod or should I look into upgrading that to a Lexa 300?
-
Owner flashy swimmer
I’d get a few of both in several different sizes and let the fish tell me which they like better on a certain day!

Dobyns Fury 795SB w/Daiwa Tatula 200...who has this setup?
Sounds like I might upgrade to the 806HSB to make sure I can throw all of those baits!

Dobyns Fury 795SB w/Daiwa Tatula 200...who has this setup?
If 3 - 3.5oz. is this rods sweet spot shouldn't you be able to chuck that S-Waver 200 as far as you can so you can cover as much open water as possible?
-
Dobyns Fury 795SB w/Daiwa Tatula 200...who has this setup?
My biggest baits are that S-Waver that I mentioned at 3.5oz. and a couple Baitsanity Antidote's that are 2.7oz. The rest of my stuff is smaller like yours...S-Waver 168's, Savage Gears 3D Shine Glide 185's, Savage Gear 4D pulse Tail Trout 8", Keitech 6.8" etc. How do you like the 8" Magdraft? '

Dobyns Fury 795SB w/Daiwa Tatula 200...who has this setup?
As the title suggests who has this swimbait setup? How do you like it? What is the heaviest bait you've thrown with it/would feel comfortable throwing with it? I have this setup but due to having a baby last year didn't get to do a whole lot of fishing. Now that my youngest son is over 1 year old and a little more capable of doing things on his own (playing in his play yard etc.) I won't need to stay home as much and help mommy out with him so hopefully I'll get more time to fish. Anyhow, my biggest bait for this setup so far is an S-Waver 200 that I got for Christmas, weighing in at 3.5oz. I've heard that is this rods sweet spot. I would like to hear from others who have this exact same rod/reel setup though and see what you think? Any tips or tricks or something to watch out for?

The latest sale thread
Not much to get excited about unless you like the BPS house brand stuff which IMO is a 50/50 crap shoot. About the best deal they will have is $3.99 Strike King Red Eye Shad lipless cranks.

Where did you see this deal? I just looked at the BPS web site and I couldn't find it. Never mind, I found the link...DOH!

Are Big Swimbaits Worth it??
Many people have mentioned some good beginner baits, especially the S-Waver 168 in Lite Trout and Warden Hitch colors but I would also suggest the Baitsanity Antidote, it's an 8" glide bait weighs around 2.7oz. and best of all it's priced very well for that size of a bait at $25. I bought a couple at the end of last season so didn't get to test them out but I'm looking forward to it this season. Matt and Tim from Tactical Bassin' like them! If you know you're never going to throw a bait over 3.5oz. I would get a Dobyns Fury 795SB, call Dobyns directly and they most likely have some refurbished available to buy...mine was a demo returned from a store that was never used and still had the tags on and I got it for $100 shipped.

BPS is nowhere near what it used to be. I remember always circling my calendar for late February (or whenever the sale dates fell on) marking their big Fishing Classic Sale, you could get great deals on ALL the major brands like Shimano, Daiwa, Lews, Abu Garcia etc., it was great! Now (and it's been this way for about the last 6 - 8 years at least) their classic sale is a joke, nothing much to be had except their house brand stuff which IMO is 50/50 at best. I've stopped circling the date a few years ago...it's a shame, that used to be a highlight of winter and a sure sign that Spring was around the corner. I know TW has a lot of stuff (although it seems lately they've been out of a majority of what I'm looking for) but for me it was always nicer to be able to go into a brick & mortar store and actually see the rod, reel etc. I was looking for, hold it in my hands and see how it felt...kinda' hard to do that with the online only stores!

Rod, Reel and Tackle Availability
So with the Spring fast approaching and all of us will be thawed out do you foresee another year like last year where due to COVID-19 there are supply shortages with rods, reels and tackle? I know last season if something you wanted was in stock you had better buy it because once it sold out it could be months before it was back in stock. I know that TW is out of stock on a lot of things I’m looking for or at least the color patterns I’m looking for. Most have restock dates of sometime in Spring but who knows for sure. Most other tackle shops are similar. I’m wondering if I should start stocking up now, even if the colors aren’t exactly what I was looking for as we will have another year of tackle shortage...especially come Spring when we all have open water?

President's Day Sales?
I seem to remember that TW has a President's Day sale but can't remember if it's 10% or 15% off?
