I was curious too so I checked them out. Got the Kistler name but it’s made in China and I try to avoid made in China when I can (USA if possible or Japanese or Korean).

Reviving this thread. I can’t hardly fathom nd any reviews on this rod from anyone other than Shimano (or their endorsed anglers), just wondering if anyone has one and can give an objective opinion on it?

Daiwa Zillion TW SV vs. Shimano Metanium
So, I’ve always wanted a Shimano Metanium…sort of always been my dream/someday reel but now I found a tea good deal on the Daiwa Zillion and wondered if that is Daiwa’s direct competition for the Metanium and how they stack up to each other?

Daiwa Tatula 200 vs Shimano Curado K200
Looking for a reel to handle small to medium swim baits (in the 3.5oz and under range) and larger top water baits (in the 1 - 2.5oz range). Which would be better suited?

NewTech Jigs
I love these jigs but with the untimely passing of their creator Bo not sure if the company is still in business. I got a Lureparts jig making kit for Christmas this year and I'd like to get some of their jig head to try my hand at making some jigs but don't know where to get them anymore or even if they are still available? I saw a guy selling some of their jigs on eBay and messaged him but he doesn't have just the jig heads. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Smallest Casting Reel for Small Swim Baits
What’s the smallest size casting reel you’ve put on a MH swim bait rod for throwing small swim baits up to 3.5oz.? Do you absolutely need a 200 or 300 size reel!

Shimano SLX Swim Bait Rod
So, thinking of the SLX 7’3” MH swimbait rod for smaller swim baits under 3.5oz. My question is would this rod also work for larger top water baits like whopper plopper 130 and Spro Rat size 40/50 etc.?

Philippines Bass Fishing
We’re headed to the Philippines for vacation next Saturday. I was shocked to learn that they have bass fishing and not just have bass but have BIG bass. Apparently when the U.S. occupied the Philippines in WWll they built some man made dams on inland lakes and someone seeded the lakes with largemouth bass and they have flourished. The specific lake we have plans on going to is called Pantabangan Lake in Nueva Ecija. Has anybody fished here before? If so, can you fish from shore or only by boat? What types and colors of lures work there? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

How to test a wires polarity using a multimeter?
I meant which post would you connect the probe or clip to? I’m assuming the negative battery post? Also would you use the negative battery post as a connection point for testing both polarities?

How to test a wires polarity using a multimeter?
I have a miscellaneous red wire that I want to find the polarity of using my multimeter but am not quite sure how. I know most red wires are positive but I do have a red wire that is actually negative so I want to be certain before connecting this other miscellaneous red cable. The multimeter I’m using is in the below picture. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Batteries leaking?
Brought the batteries to Auto Zone and they checked them out and charged them. The guy said the batteries were both good and nothing wrong with them. He said probably condensation but both checked out goo, water levels are good and only took 15 minutes to charge fully so I’m good to go ?. I’ll throw them back in the boat and hook them up and hopefully get out on the water tomorrow!

Batteries leaking?
Okay, I just bought brand new batteries for my boat this Spring...I'm thinking May. I put them in my boat but never hooked them up and that's where they've been all Summer long with the boat cover on so they weren't exposed to the sun or rain. Because life seems to have go9tten in the way this Summer we haven't even used the boat once. I just went out today and put the batteries in place and hooked them all up when I noticed that they were a little wet around the terminal covers (see the pictures below). These are brand new batteries and they weren't the cheap Walmart specials either (bought them at Advanced Auto Parts), are they bad? Is there something wrong with them or is this normal? I wanted to go out with the family this Labor Day weekend and do a little fishing but I don't want to take the boat out if there's something wrong with these batteries...what does everyone think?

Best Bang for the Buck Budget Travel Rod
I'm going on vacation in a month to the Philippines with my family. Looking over things to do there my wife (who's from there) stumbled across and lake that actually has largemouth bass in it...can you believe it? My wife couldn't, she said she didn't know the Philippines had bass. So of course one day at least will be spent fishing which brings me to the travel rod dilemma...I don't have one! I need one that can easily fit into a large suitcase and won't take up too much room. I'm thinking a spinning rod and reel would be the way to go. Not looking to spend a fortune as I'm not sure how much use this rod will ever get but want something better than an Ugly Stik (heard the travel rod isn't the same quality of their regular rod). I'd say a do-everything rod and not just a finesse ultra light, would like to keep rod and reel combo under $150 (the more inexpensive the better). Suggestions?

Just an FYI...Kittery Trading Post frequently has fishing tackle sales , they sell Megabass stuff (not a huge selection but decent) and it's always included in their sales.
