Anyone know of any other places with good deals on the 2020 Vanford’s other than American Legacy Fishing? I know they’re at 25% off but I swear there were some better deals out there I just can’t remember where.

I was thinking the same thing...needs more blue/purple, as it stands it looks more like the Green Pumpkin Shad color of Z-Man. Sweet color though.

Yup, ended up going with this, with shipping came to $130 but still better than the $180 they sell for at Tacklewarehouse.

The 2024 JDM Tat 100 with the duralumin spool and digidrive is what I’m looking at for $110.

What’s the best cranking reel bang for the buck? I prefer Shimano or Daiwa but wouldn’t turn my nose at a Lews, Abu or Okuma if it’s better suited. I’m looking at a Daiwa Tatula 100 right now in the 6.3:1 ratio.

Looking at this reel for a lighter frogging reel (anything not in heavy cover) and heavier top water. My dilemma is should I go with a 7 speed or an 8 speed?

If you want to get into swim bait fishing cheap (relatively speaking) I would suggest starting out with a 7'3" MH/F Shimano SLX A swim bait rod for $109. Nice rod (I have one but haven't used it yet), rated 1 - 4oz which means it's sweet spot is probably 2.5-3oz. which is where most 6-7" swim baits range. Next I got a Daiwa Tatula 200 reel which i found an open box special on eBay for $110 but you can routinely get them for $140 on Amazon too. I am spooling with 22lb. Sunline Armillo Defier. I too just took advantage of this offer only I got just the one rod for $106 shipped. I just didn’t need a second but awesome deal on a fantastic made in the USA rod! This rod normally sells for $299, is on sale for $149 and now I saved $67 off which brought it down to $83. I needed a good skipping rod and got the 6’9” MH/F. Can’t wait!!!

I just ordered a 2024 Met DC…all the newest tech in a highly palm-able package… couldn’t resist. If I want line capacity I have other larger reels I can use but day-in, day-out a 70 size is hard to beat!

I just got one of those too, mine came end of last week and it’s pretty sweet looking! I’m just culling reels right now, sold two and hopefully one more so I’m in the market for at least 2 more reels.

Is Aliexpress trustworthy? I just saw it on there for $336.

But they are 70 size, with smaller spools and handles. It would cost $65 for a bigger YS size spool and another $20 for the bigger handle and at that point you’d be at $310+.

I’m looking at an almost new 2020 Shimano Metanium B MGL 151 HG. The guy wants $310 for it. From his pictures it looks near mint. He said he bought it in December 2023 and he only fished it a couple of times. His reason for selling is he just bought a 2024 Metanium DC and he already has 4 Metanium’s so one has to go. I offered him $295 for it but he said the lowest he’d go is $310 (his asking price was $320) because it’s in nearly new condition and was $450 new. Worth it?

For $50 more you’re getting the latest technology, the old Met DC was new circa 2015.

I just checked and P-Line Tactical fluorocarbon is still up to 52% off at Bass Pro/Cabelas and I think I read somewhere that the sale ends today, 4/30 (could be wrong on this though...better double-check ).

I’ve heard very good things about the Bill Lewis ATV crankbait as far as being the best squarebill to come through all sorts of cover without getting hung up all the time that I bought some at the end of last year but haven’t got a chance to use them yet as we still have hard water where I live 😆.

I've never tried it but it gets good reviews.
