Kastking White Max
Under $50.

Kastking White Max
The only problem is they don't have the lower gear ratio for crankbaits.

Kastking White Max
Does anybody have firsthand experience with the Kastking White Max? Looking for a good but cheap crankbait reel. This reel is an 11 bearing, 5.3:1 gear ratio.

Berkley Flicker Shad
This is what I was looking for! I had a suspicion this might be the case or these would have been all the rage but they're not so it made me skeptical.

Berkley Flicker Shad
So these look to me like a Rapala Shad Rap clone, do you think they are as good or close enough to the Rapala that you would buy these at roughly $3 less per bait vs. the Shad rap or would you stick to the tried and true Rapala version despite the cost difference?

Fall Bite in Vermont?
Hello my fellow 802er's, has the Fall bite started yet where you are? If so, what have they been hitting the most (I'm assuming topwater, crank/jerk, spinnerbait or jigs)?

Berkley Flicker Shad
Based on the money and looks they would seem to be a Shad Rap Lite...if they are good quality at half the price I may consider some.

Berkley Flicker Shad
Does anybody have first hand knowledge of these cranks? How do you like them? What kind of a wobble do they have? Do they hold up?

Shimano Curado I ?
For some reason I thought you had to zero the brakes when changing baits...if not that makes things much easier as I'll just leave the brakes at 2 on/2 off adjust the tension knob and possibly the svs dial.
-
Crankbait Line
The deepest I'll go with a crank is around 13ft., after that I'll use spinnerbaits or jigs :).

Shimano Curado I ?
I find that when adjusting my brakes and tension for new lures that I will get it set just right but in order to lock my side plate back into position I will have to let off on the tension knob until the sideplate clicks into place (the locking knob I mean). This seems counter intuitive to the whole process of setting your brakes to zero and adjusting the tension to the bait. Is there a trick I don't know about?

Crankbait Line
I am just thinking that the 15lb fluoro will be too thick and effect the diving depth of my cranks and jerk baits too much when chances are I won't be fishing too much in wood or other nasty stuff...mostly open water or weeds.
-
Crankbait Line
I'll also be using this setup for jerkbaits...is mono good for them too?
-
Crankbait Line
The only other line I currently have are 12lb Big Game mono and 20lb. Power Pro braid...what do you think about either of those choices? The rod I'm using is an 7ft. Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 Winch (crankbait model).

Crankbait Line
What is the best pound test for fluorocarbon line to use for crankbaits (shallow to medium depth)? I have 15lb Red Label spooled on now but am seeing many people are using like 10lb test and I'm wondering if my line will be too heavy and i should switch to something lighter?

Crankbait bottom colors
I would think if there were any baits where color other than on the bottom would make a difference it would be something like crankbaits and jerkbaits where the entire bait is fished below the surface and the bass would see it from all angles conceivably. I mean topwater baits color doesn't matter so much as the fish are generally just seeing the bottoms of the baits as they don't submerge beneath the waters surface. Maybe I'm off-base here but in my line of thinking if there were ever any baits where overall color schemes would matter it would be cranks and jerks.

C-Rig Anytime
Do you slow roll this along the bottom or experiment with various retrieve speeds?
-
C-Rig Anytime
I have my Dobyn's Fury 7'3" Heavy with a Shimano Curado i spooled with 17lb. Sunline Armilo Defier...would this be a good setup to use?
-
C-Rig Anytime
So I would think braid would be a good option then as it's more sensitive? I also ordered some of those Carolina Keepers as they looked handy from the bassresource video i watched...only one knot to tie and can adjust leader length without retying.
-
C-Rig Anytime
What setup is best for this (rod, reel, line)? I'm thinking maybe a 6.3:1 reel but would you use a regular rod or a crankin' rod? As for line I'm guessing fluoro since you want it to sink correct? What lb. test?

Spro BBZ-1 Rat
I have the natural brown color in size 30 that works well for me. I recently bought the Morning Dawn color in size 30 too but haven't thrown it yet...hopefully I'll have as much luck with that as i do the brown.

Weedy Bottom Jigs?
I wonder what Mike @Siebert Outdoors would recommend?

Weedy Bottom Jigs?
I have a local pond that I know has some lunkers in it but the bottom is weedy, is there a jig that can be fished in a weedy mat city pond? If so, what won't get tangled in the underwater jungle?

Boo-yah Flex 2 Crankbaits
Glenn, do you prefer these new cranks to the regular 1.5 cranks on the market like the KVD square bills? If so, why?
-
Boo-yah Flex 2 Crankbaits
I know these are pretty new but they look awesome and I'm wondering if anybody has first-hand experience with them and whether they prefer them over the standard 1.5" cranks a la Strike King?
