Tuf Line?
How do you guys feel about Tuf Line braid? I see where DSG is offering one of their "flash" sales on the stuff and you can get the Domin8 for $12.99 per 125yd spool and the 4orce for $7.98 per 125yd spool.

Daiwa Tatula CT Type R 8.1:1 ?
What about for 3/8oz. - 1/2oz. jigs (plus trailers)? Can you still pitch with the 7.3:1?

Daiwa Tatula CT Type R 8.1:1 ?
Here are my rods: IRod Fiber 7'5" Heavy Fred's Magic Stick, Dobyn's Fury 7'3" 734C and Abu Garcia Veritas 7ft. 2.0 Winch (crankbait model). I already have a Lews Tournament Pro 6.4:1 which I'm most likely using on the Veritas, that leaves the Fury and the iRod open, whichever rod the Type r doesn't go on I'm putting a Shimano Curado I 7.2:1 on.

Daiwa Tatula CT Type R 8.1:1 ?
I've been tossing around the idea of swapping the Tatula CT 7.3:1 RH I just got for my birthday for a CT Type R in a LH as I just seem to feel more comfortable using my dominant hand/arm for my rod and reel with my left hand. That being said, should i get the Type R in a 7.3:1 or a 8.1:1 gear ratio? I guess a more proper question would be what are the pros/cons to each of those gear ratios as far as what techniques you can use them for?

Pompadour colors
I honestly haven't got a bite on mine so far but they look and function awesome. I have the full size ones in Black Bone and Yellow Frog. If I were to add other colors I'd go with Bone, Green Frog and Bone is Gill.

Swim Jigs
Siebert Outdoors makes great stuff but there is also another brand that works really well too...unfortunately BR filters the name so if interested PM me and I'll let you know who it is. Either those guys or Siebert's are what I would use.

Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
I kinda' want to get a Curado and try it out though. When i tried one at a Shimano pro day at my local bait/tackle shop I really liked it.
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
Sounds good too but I'm thinking I will be getting a LH model and those don't come in the 8.1:1 ratio.
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
It is definitely getting overwhelming! Why couldn't we just have like 3 types of reels that would cover every technique adequately :).
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
That's the question...should i go with the higher IPT Curado and use the Lews as my crankin' reel with the Curado and Tatula as potential pitching reels or should i go with the lower IPT Curado and use the Lews and tatula as pitching reels?
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
Well, I'm going to have 3 reels, the two I already have are a Lews Tournament Pro and a Daiwa Tatula (see the specs above). I was originally thinking I'd get a Curado in the 7.2:1 ratio with a higher IPT of 30" but now I'm thinking that instead I might get the 6.3:1 at 26" and use my Lews which has an IPT of 28" for pitching/flipping or even possibly the Tatula at 30.5".
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
So you don't pay attention to IPT? I always thought for a crankbait reel you'd want a lower IPT?
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
I'm thinking I might use the Shimano for my crankin' rod though, the 6.3:1 ratio has a 26 IPT which would be better suited (5.6:1 ratio doesn't come in a LH version) for that than my Lews Tournament Pro 6.4:1 which has 28 IPT or my Daiwa Tatula CT 7.3:1 which has 30.5 IPT right?
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
I'm thinking I may swap my Tatula for a lefty version too...it just feels more comfortable to me...I think
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
Yeah, if I get a Curado I think it'll be the 7.2:1 model but I'm just mulling over if I want a RH or a LH version.
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
Yeah, I hear you but I tried a Curado I at a Shimano pro day at my local tackle shop and really liked it so would like to get one and then my reels would be a Lew's Tournament Pro, Daiwa tatula CT and Shimano Curado I.
-
Flippin' & Pitchin' Reel ?
Okay, I already have a new Daiwa tatula CT but I'm thinking of also adding a Shimano Curado 200i to complete my reel arsenal, my question is which one of those reels would be better for pitchin' and flippin' baits? Whichever one isn't as good at that I'll use as a regular caster.

Gander Mountain Going Out of Business!
Wow, I was shocked when I went to their web site, Gander Mountain is going out of business and has a total liquidation sale going on. Unfortunately the web site is completely shut down other than the page that announces they are going out of business...any click redirects you to contact info of a store near you. I contacted the store near me and they are going at 10% - 30% off right now on everything but he said they actually have a liquidation specialist in the store that is going through and adjusting prices as we spoke so it sounds like prices will be falling rapidly and it may be a good idea to keep checking your local store to score some deals!!!

LH or RH Baitcaster?
Well, that would definitely be my right hand...I can't do much fine motor skills with my left arm/hand...writing is terrible, throwing is awful. Now obviously it isn't completely useless and I can lift, grab things etc. but ask me to hammer a nail with my left and I would spend most of the time in the ER with a broken right thumb...lol.
-
LH or RH Baitcaster?
Just one more question...who turned this into a competition?
-
LH or RH Baitcaster?
Nah, unfortunately due to health reasons he can no longer get out to fish :(. Also, I live in Vermont and he lives in Pennsylvania so we couldn't share our tackle even if we wanted too...lol.
-
LH or RH Baitcaster?
Yeah, I know but it's hard for a 44 year old to tell his 65 year old Dad thanks for the advice but I'm going against it...lol. In all seriousness I will probably go with the LH reels but I want to throw one a few more times to make sure I'm completely comfortable with it.
