Is Seaguar Red Label 20lb. Test Any Good?
There is a spool of 175yds. at my local Wal-Mart on clearance for $3, if it could be useful for a heavy fluorocarbon line for jigs, spinnerbaits, senkos etc. i will pick it up but if it's too unmanageable at that pound test I'll probably pass on it.

Berkley Lightning Rod Shock ($9)
I just went there and they are still $39.99...where/when did you get yours for $9 online?

Worm Weight Size for T-Rig w/Zoom Ol' Monster?
I'm not knocking Mike in any way, he has quality stuff and like i said I have bought some jigs from him before, I just decided to go with a different vendor this time who also has a very good reputation similar to Mike on another popular bass message board with equally passionate fans of his work. Variety is the spice of life . I actually just saw some of the KVD tungsten worm weights on sale at my local Wal-Mart for $1 per pack so I'm going up tomorrow on my lunch break and buy them out...lol.

Worm Weight Size for T-Rig w/Zoom Ol' Monster?
I've ordered some from Mike as well...there ARE other good vendors out there though too so take off the blinders .

Worm Weight Size for T-Rig w/Zoom Ol' Monster?
Sorry, let me clear this up. I just ordered some *** jigs in 3/8oz. and 1/2oz. and planned on adding a bullet weight to them as well so I'm assuming if I'm doing that I already have the weight of the jig head and the lure so I probably will only need 3/16oz. or possibly 1/4oz. for the thick stuff right?

Worm Weight Size for T-Rig w/Zoom Ol' Monster?
I'm thinking I may fish some of my new jigs Texas style and just put a 10-1/2" Zoom Ol' Monster on the jig head with a bullet worm weight but I'm not sure what size weight you should use for various fishing scenarios? I've also seen the word "pegging" come into play when talking about T-rigs...what does that mean? I've also seen some people put small beads in between the worm weight and the knot on the hook while some don't...am i to assume this is personal preference or would a bead actually protect the knot and/or make sound to attract the bass?

Yo-Zuri Topknot
I have never heard of this, what's the reasoning? I have heard of backing braid with mono to prevent slipping but now there are some spools coming out that say you don't need to do that anymore and can spool braid straight on.

Best Jig Line
What would be the best fluorocarbon line for jigs that could also be used for multiple applications? I'm thinking Seaguar Invizx or maybe Sunline FC Sniper in a 16lb. test but I'm sure there are others out there too. i just ordered some nice new jigs and would like to keep them as long as possible .

Yo-Zuri Topknot
Has anybody used the Yo-Zuri Topknot fluorocarbon line? It seems like a good deal and says extreme abrasion resistance which is what I'd like.

Jig Advice
Okay, I am new to jig fishing and would like to try it and place a small order through @Siebert Outdoors. My setup would be a 7ft. - 7ft. 3in M/F or MH/F rod with a new BPS Pro Qualifier 2 reel (I would also be using a Pflueger President Limited Edition spinning reel size 30 at times w/a 7ft. MH/F rod) in the 6.8:1 (28 IPT) gear ratio spooled with 12lb. Seaguar Invizx fluorocarbon. My question is this, there are so many jig types and weights for different applications (rocky, grassy/weedy, brush, muddy etc.) which kind/style should I get and what size/weight? I'm fishing mostly for LMB. Should I get a few of each type at first or just concentrate on a specific type (i.e.-brush) for now until I get accustomed to it? At first I was thinking like maybe 3 or 4 each of Brush, G2 Football and maybe a couple of Sniper but if that's overkill for a beginning jig fisherman i could scale back...what do you think?

Berkley Lightning Rod Shock ($9)
same here, what a rip off...I mean why put a bunch of rods in a trash can in the center of the isle if you don't have them on clearance.

BPS Pro Qualifier 2
Thanks all, I ended up going with the 6.8:1 right handed PQ2 for $50. I figured if I'm getting a 7.3:1 Tatula later this Spring why be redundant. I believe it will be very good for every technique I plan on using it for. We'll see :).
-
BPS Pro Qualifier 2
I listed the IPT specs above...7.1:1=29, the new 6.8:1=28 and the 7.5:1=31.

BPS Pro Qualifier 2
I'm thinking it will be put on my all-around rod and be used for spinnerbaits, senkos/craws, smaller jigs and maybe some jerkbaits?

Cabelas Mean Eye Jerkbait vs. Bass Pro XPS Bass Hawk Jerkbait
Anybody have experience with both of these? Which one is better and why?
-
BPS Pro Qualifier 2
Will do but...that may not be for a while, just getting another fresh 3 - 5" of snow today and most lakes/ponds still frozen over :(.

BPS Pro Qualifier 2
I have no idea if I was happy or not, never used the reel...lol. Seriously, I'm still new to baitcasting so don't have very much experience at all with different gear ratios/IPT on casting reels. Right now I have a Lews Tournament Pro in a LH version at 6.4:1 and I haven't really used it much other than practice casting last year. I wanted to get a RH reel so that I can actively compare which version I prefer (am a righty but reel with my left hand on spinning reels) and whichever one I am more comfortable with I will sell/trade the other for a comparable reel in the opposite hand.
-
BPS Pro Qualifier 2
I checked and the old 7.1:1 has an IPT of 29", the new PQ2 in the 7.5:1 has an IPT of 31" and in the 6.8:1 it's 28".

BPS Pro Qualifier 2
Well, I'm thinking I will later this Spring get a Daiwa Tatula CT in the 7.3:1 ratio for my new IRod Fiber 7'5" Heavy/Fast Fred's Magic Stick which I will use for my heavier topwaters like Whopper Plopper 130's, MS Mini Slammers etc. as well as heavy jigs and frogs. This reel I'm thinking will go on whatever rod I will use for my all-around rod for stuff like senkos/craws, smaller spinnerbaits and jigs, buzzbaits etc.

BPS Pro Qualifier 2
Okay, here is the situation. I recently bought a BPS Pro Qualifier for $49, my local BPS had to search extensively to find a 7.1:1 model as they had sold out. They finally found me one in a Florida store and had it shipped to me. I received it yesterday and was excited until I opened it up and discovered that it was a LH version and not the RH version I had ordered. Needless to say i was a little bummed after waiting 2 weeks to get this reel so I emailed my local store assistant manager alerting her to what had happened. She just replied back to me and has offered to take the wrong LH Pro Qualifier and replace it with a brand new Pro Qualifier 2 for the $49 I paid in whichever ratio I would like, the 6.8:1 or the 7.5:1 (since they no longer come in the 7.1:1 ratio)...so, which ratio should I get?

Bama Frogs?
I've been to the Bama Frogs web site a few times and they seem to have some good looking stuff but has anybody bought any of their own custom stuff (like their buzzbaits for example) they make and how have you found the quality?

Abu Garcia Fans
Is this a casting or spinning version and where did you get a new one for $83?
-
Reel Snot or other lubricants
Is the Ardent stuff any good?
-
BPS PQ reel CLEARANCE?
I know that my local BPS sold out of them. I was lucky and they found 1 of the 7.1:1 RH at one of their Florida stores and were able to get it for me but they are slim pickin's now and especially that model that I got is sold out almost everywhere!

Which baitcaster?
I don't know you're budget but I know a very popular one (I will be getting one myself soon) is the Daiwa Tatula CT which can be had on eBay for $90 - $100 or you can call Tackle Trap (a site sponsor) and they have them for $100 TYD. People say they are the most bang for your buck reel in this price range. Good luck!!!
