  1. There is a good review of the Producer at TackleTour. com. I have a Performa XT 30 and it is solid, buttery smooth casting & reeling with a very smooth consistent drag the bail is heavy and very easy to lube. You won't be disapointed to bad you missed the TW sale you could have landed the Producer XT for $61 and change.
  2. Try Gliss Monotex, been using 24lb. on my Pinnacle Performa 30 since Sept, no management issues, has faded a little, no break offs with improved clinch 2x thru eye with 8-10 wraps, like it better than PP cast 4-5 yds. futher (6'9"Kistler) than 15lb.PP on my President 6930 (6'6"Okuma)
  3. Congrats, thanks for sharing
  4. Kistler Mag. TS on sale at TW for $110, I got one for $92 during their Labor Day Sale
  5. In June of this yr. I picked up a F&S Inferno 6'6" med. action, line wt. 6-12lb., lure wt. 1/4-5/8oz. 2 piece spinning combo at DSG's for $50.. Put 15Lb. PP on the Shimano (4bearing) Syncopate 2500FG mounted on the rod and procededed to use this set up to re-learn fishing. This because after a 40+yr. haiatus from fishing and after much re education via BR I wanted an inexpensive set up after all I finally retired to my lake front home. Let me tell you this combo has caught at least 30 bass (dinks -3lb) several pickerill and a couple pan fish from my dock. It has 5 guides plus tip and a 12" split grip EVA handle. I still occasionall use it when walking the shoreline, think you can get just the rod at DSG's for $30 a great value for the beginner. The model # is FEHIS66MS 2500 and I think the tip is fast.
  6. X2 I live on a lake and my 1st. cast is always parallel to shore from my dock have caught more fish doing this than going for the deep here's one of todays catch approx. 15 ft. from shore and 20 or so ft. from my dock 's
  7. Nice surprise today while finesse fishing from my dock on a worm landed a nice rainbow
  8. Welcome, I'm a relative newbie and think this site should be called "Best Bass Resource" lots of great info and people, enjoy
  9. I can understand your head spinning but is your question about a baitcaster or a spinning set up? Don't know about BC's but with spinning get a Pfleuger president and browse the deals on TW or where ever for a $150 or so rod.
  10. JP High class of 71, been an awesome summer. lots of dinks, 2 pounders and more than a few at 3+ many thanks to BR for all the info
  11. I have a Mag TS as my go 2, TW has both spin & bait on sale, u should check them out
  12. Regardless of the knot I find that wetting the line facilitates tying
  13. I tried Spiderwire Flouro-Braid advertized as a sinking braid, it never really sank like flouro, had very poor abrasion resistance and after losing a couple of fish with break offs I went back to PP and never looked back.
  14. Exactly why I use braid and after a week of using it Gliss mono
  15. Bait Monkey got me on TW's LaborDay sale got a spool of 24lb. for my new Pinnacle Producer XT Spinning Reel 30 & Kistler Mag TS will post any negatives
