  1. All the pros on my bass pros video say you have to rip bait out of weeds and impinge on objects to gets the bite.
  2. In my experience color doesn't matter. They bite any color frog that I throw.
  3. They don't always bite when they're in that, but I love it when they do!
  4. $80 Pflueger President combo from walmart. Medium medium rod. Love mine.
  5. It wasn't on at logan martin today. Glad someone is catching them.
  6. Shock resistance? How would a copoly leader provide any abrasion resistance over braid?
  7. Cool find. I caught a bass that had three crawdads in his belly. He still wanted my worm.
  8. Fat 'n happy vs. Young 'n scrappy!
  9. Anything done in high wind sucks.
  10. Walmart has srike king polarized black frame glasses that look great fit great and have a good color to them. I like them better than my spider wire polarized lenses that i also bought from wal mart. $17 and $14 for each. I've lost both pairs within a month of ownership. That is the prime reason that I won't buy high dollar glasses. That and the fact that scratches bother the holy h3ll out of me.
  11. Tholmes you're right. I don't have a trolling motor so I stay places for longer than most, and I was stubborn for my first few weeks and I wouldn't move at all. Sometimes it would be hours later, but I'd catch a fish there. 99% of the folks I see bank fishing from a bass boat move constantly. Even after catching a fish.
  12. So when do I consider this season "over"? I was expecting to fish into december where we have 70*days occasionally.
  13. ^I've never seen a bank fisher catch a fish and then stay there. They keep moving. I've seen a fair number of them too.
  14. Mine makes a weird clacking noise sometimes too. Brand new 7.1 :1. I think it could be where the brass part engages the cross pin on the spool.
  15. Nah. I love having 4 different set ups. It helps learning curve too.
  16. Frogs are my huckleberry. Jigs, I've never caught a fish on. I like your detail. I will try to work a jig soon. Frogs, I've never had success doing a very super slow retrieve like many here say. I fish them fast and get that reaction bite from 5pm to 7:30pm. Usually I get bit at 6:15 and then I go in at 6:45 due to early up for work the next morning. I don't fish mornings though. First time I fished a frog I spent 3 hours and didn't snif a fish. It was discouraging but next time out I caught 2 in 15 minutes. They were pb's too. 2+ pounders. I've not really invested enough time in a jig yet though.
  17. Don't like the carbon fiber crank handle.
  18. I fish 1.5 to 3 hours 4 to 5 days a week. At minimum.
  19. Lots of different and even conflicting opinions here. I suspect it's because we all have our own definition of what "fight" is or means. Fight to me is the running back of a football team. Not the line backer, not the safety or the wideout...what poundage of bass qualifies as the running back? The highest muscle per pound guy on the team.
  20. I was very surprised to find that one of the bass could jump over a foot straight up if laid down on his side on my paddleboard. That was impressive.
