  1. I've seen a lot of issues with the reel seat on the exo's breaking. That being said I do think the EXO is a great reel at the $150 price tag. If you can grab a Curado 70XG for $190 on ebay I think its well worth the $40 difference. Just make sure you flush all the grease out of the internals when you get it and put only one drop of oil inside. They come packed with grease from the factory because they don't plan on you ever doing any maintenance to the reel.
  2. The bait monkey got me again this week already. Talked me into my second Falcon Bucoo/shimano citica 200g purchase in the last week.
  3. So I found a good deal on a couple NIB Citica 200g's and took advantage. I've never done any kind of upgrading to my reels but I believe I can put ceramic bearings in them and carbon drag washers and essentially make them comparable to chronarchs. Tell me if I'm wrong or if you have done any similar upgrades to yours.
  4. I mean I own $200 reels of each brand and I'm telling you there's a difference. Not so much a difference in components but there is definitely a difference in quality of design. There's a reason a lot of guys work exclusively on shimano reels and that's because if you go through them and take care of them they last forever. I'm not here to shame any abu garcia fan boys all I'm saying is I haven't had a single issue with any other reel ever.
  5. Anyone know of any killer deals on some closeout reels or discontinued models. I'm looking to get 3-4 new reels in a few gear ratios. Any suggestions on where to look or if any websites have some sweet deals. Looking for Shimano, Lews, Diawa. Absolutely NO ABU.
  6. Sorry I should have specified that I don't use the silent riser 110's or the American Megabass 110's. They come in a hard plastic box with a soft foam in the bottom. These are the originals that suspend. If the bite is on it doesn't really matter if you're throwing a MB or an RC STX you will still catch fish. The megabass have flat out produced for me over any other jerk out there.
  7. Not sure if I mentioned that I don't have a boater that I would be entering tournaments with. How would that work out? Just show up and hope I get to fish? And unfortunately I have class untill 6 tonight or I would go the the meeting at Mondo
  8. I'm looking to get into a buddy bass platform tournament trail as a co-angler on either side of the river. I work at Rogers sporting goods in liberty and I have a lot of experience fishing and have fished a couple tournaments just not a ton of tourny experience
  9. For the price tag they are most certainly great stick baits. They don't all perfectly suspended out of the package like the MB 110's but if you do a little tuning and swap the hooks you have an amazing bait for cheaper. I put #2 trebles on the front and tail hooks and a #4 in the middle. Sometimes have to wrap a little wire around the front hook to get them to suspend just right but it beats spending $25 on a jerk
  10. Well... Saturday I purchased my 3rd new rod/reel of the year. Picked up a Falcon Bucoo Amistad (7'3" HF) for frogs and flipping. Paired it with a new old Citica 200G7.
  11. We did see some beds with males on them but they wouldn't even sniff a shakey head
  12. Fished Lacygne today from 7-3. water temps range from 72 by the water outlet to 55 further up the creeks. Believe it or not we caught one on a frog, yes a frog in March, that was just under 6. Caught a couple on spinner baits, caught a few flipping bluff walls, caught one good one(4lb2oz) on a megabass ito natural, and lost count of how many 2 pounders I caught on a shakey head. Our best 5 for the day were right at 19lbs
  13. I am an employee at Rogers. There is an event starting tomorrow March 10th-12th presented by pure fishing (Berkley, Abu Garcia) We just set up the tent today and all sales go live tomorrow. If you're a rewards member look for a text with the sale ad tomorrow.
  14. Only the 3 m-shad are straight eyes. Pretty much stole them at $15 a piece
  15. Aside from the rods and reels over the past couple months this was the latest purchase. I really have a problem
  16. I'm Brandon and I'm an addict. I've been sober for 2 days now. Before then my purchases in the last couple months include: 2 Lews Speed Spool (non LFS) ss1s, ss1h Lews tournament Pro 7.1:1 AG Revo STX 7.1:1 Shimano Stradic hg fk 2500 Ducket Ghost 6'8" med heavy St. Croix Avid X 7' med heavy Shimano crucial spinning 6'6" med Hudd 68's Savage Line throughs 7 megabass 110's and a lot more...
  17. I can buy all 3 for the price of that one
  18. I've used/seen many megabass vision 110's before but these are the first I've ever seen first hand with the round eyes instead of the pupil positioned at the bottom.
  19. I found some megabass vision 110 M-Shad with the round straight eyes that a local tackle store currently has on closeout. So my question is how "rare" or collectible are they?
  20. I am on the Missouri side
  21. Hey there. I'm somewhat new to the forum. I have done a lot of reading on the forum but never made an account so I finally decided I needed to after looking through the fishing flea market. I'm 23 years old and live in the Kansas City area(go Royals). I love to fish when I'm not working or in class.
