  1. Dropshot Flick Shake worm. Watermelon Candy. Funny that I can remember that.
  2. Ditto, Jrob78. Good investment.
  3. Been getting a few Fin-Nor rods from a local discount retailer. Bought the first one for grins and giggles, but I'm starting to like them a lot. Solid and tough. The fast action MH has been a great rod.
  4. 1. Worm- Love the Damiki Hydra, but have used trick worms, squirrel tails, brush hogs, etc, had luck with many plastics except Senkos and ribbon-tailed... So far. Lol 2. Weight.....Lunker City or Damiki. 1/8 to 1/16. Prefer the Damiki because they 'stick' better and have the characteristics of a Ned jig 3. Hook- octopus or small circle hook 4. Line- 8#-10# mono or fluoro 5. Reel-Spinning 6. Rod- Med Hvy or Med
  5. Jackall Squirrel and Squadminnow. Tennessee Shad color.
  6. First always, salvation. Then family, health, employment and every blessing there is. The order changes daily, but I try to remain thankful. The problem is that I don't always appreciate or practice being thankful.
  7. I've just come down from the roof after spending two hours in 10-degree frigid wind working on a heat pump. The Polo shirt-wearing keyboard drone asks me if he should send his employees home because it's, "Too cold to work". 5/16 nut driver. Right eye. I ain't bitter...
  8. Scottjish ale and wee heavy ale are my weakness. Ice cold poured in a frosty Belhaven glass. Cures what ails ya.
  9. Another dismal game by the Skins. Sigh....
  10. Hello from Roanoke. Thank you for your service and best of luck fishing them flatlands!
  11. Welcome from Roanoke!
  12. Nobody fishes the float n fly? Even in Eastern Tennessee? Give it a shot, gents, if you haven't. It's not for everybody, but it can be a hoot.
  13. Thanks, Sam. I appreciate the update. Seems like it may be more than 5 years since I've been there. Lol!
  14. Just annual dues and tournament fees. Pays for insurance, ramp fees and winning places. A certain amount gets allotted for year end fish off. No actual fund raisers.
  15. Probably been 5 years since I've made the trip. Might have to do it this year, though-- always liked Greentops. Maybe some of the BR folks can coordinate lunch or something? Is the BBQ place still right next to the venue?
  16. X2! Absolutely WOW!
  17. Good point, flyfisher. You actually changed my mind about the trout stamp here in Virginia.
  18. Thank you, vets. And thank you for protecting your brother's six.
  19. Lol! Bigbill-- you're a good sport.
  20. Let's not be too hasty. Bigfoot does exist-- I've seen one. It must have been a reaction to wedding cake and a gold ring, because my wonderful ex-wife turned into a Bigfoot within a few weeks. Who knew?
  21. Slow rolled spinnerbait, football jig, jerk bait and float 'n' fly. A fat Smallie on light line float 'n' fly is a blast.
  22. Zoom Mag II. Culprit makes a great worm, too, but just have an irrational confidence in the Mag II.
  23. Got Saturday off but going in early tomorrow. There's a big project a manufacturer needs done and it has to be done on Sunday. A lot of plants can only get big stuff done on weekends and holidays. It's made for some crappy holidays, but that's the nature of the business.
