  1. Congratulations on catching a big channel catfish!
  2. I am sure people will purchase this topwater duck in large numbers if their favorite bass fishing pro tells them it's what helps them get big bags during tournaments.
  3. Nice bass!Gotta love that early morning topwater bite.
  4. The most friendly people I have had the pleasure to meet are from North and South Carolina.
  5. Get the patent on your lure invention before you post the lure online.
  6. Every location is different so you are going to get different answers. In South Florida topwaters are effective any time of day,at least in the locations I fish in.Hollow body lures tend to do best fished on or near aquatic vegetation(lily pads, hydrilla, etc) and hard plastic/wooden topwaters tend to do well when fished near heavy cover, near aquatic vegetation,or even in open waters if the conditions are right. Don't give up on topwaters since these types of fishing lures are very useful in many situations. You will be surprised how effective topwaters can be for both numbers of bass and size of bass if you spend the time needed to learn how to use these lures in various conditions.
  7. All of the above, but prefer to fish Senkos unweighted Texas rigged style.
  8. I might have to go to California again and fish freshwater instead of saltwater so I can increase my PB as well!Maybe Mexico or Cuba?lol
  9. My favorite color for braided line is green like the color of a avocado.
  10. Awesome collection. Very nice collection you got there,I also collect Rapalas.Probably one of the best multi species lures ever made.
  11. It's only a matter of time before someone catches another bass bigger than the world record, hopefully it will be bigger than 25 pounds.
  12. That's the right idea!Happy birthday Mike, hope you get a giant on it...
  13. You are welcome. Give the lures that I and the other members mentioned a try, they might not catch you fish 100% of the time, but they do catch fish for 1000's of bass fishermen across the country. With time you will find out what lures work best in your area.Let us know how you do!
  14. ^This^ I tend to stay away from those that are active in tournament fishing in my area, many of those guys are more interested in what technique you are using than finding a fishing buddy. Some people will do anything to win a bass tournament!I do enjoy fishing with beginners and often go out of my way to teach people how to fish if they approach me in a respectable way.
  15. Nice bass, I like to use the word persistent instead of the word stubborn.Being persistent is one of the best attributes a bass fisherman can have, and a truly persistent bass fisherman usually catches more quality bass than someone just going through the motions.
  16. The Peacock bass are thriving in West Palm Beach since we haven't had a strong cold front in years. I have caught Peacock Bass as far north as a canal system north of Lake Osborne, won't be surprised if people report catches of peacock bass in the next county north of West Palm Beach.
  17. I agree with those above about locations in the Miami area for peacock bass. They are all over the place and it looks like they are spreading north since their hasn't been a strong enough cold front to kill the exotics since the year 2010 or so.Another location you can try that is close to Miami is the canal behind Opa Locka airport on Red Road and NW 142nd Street. Its the part of the canal that is "L" shaped. This canal has a good population of largemouth bass and it's loaded with peacock bass.Fish with live shiners here and your almost guaranteed a couple peacock bass, along with other exotic species. You also have a shot at hooking a tarpon or snook here,so it's another good location to try that is nearby.
  18. Awesome Smallmouth Bass and even better story of how he caught this giant. Goes to show you that what matters most is being at the right place, at the right time, using the right presentation!
  19. Sounds good. You should have a good time fishing in the ocean this time of year, make sure to use live bait or fresh cut bait. You can also use various saltwater lures if you don't like using bait in saltwater. I was bank fishing when I went to the canal, caught several peacocks on various Rapala jerkbaits and caught most of the largemouth bass on senkos, flukes, other soft plastic lures. Let us know how you do both in freshwater and saltwater!
  20. Herons, Alligators, Cormorants, Snakes, etc, are a sign of a healthy ecosystem, so I always look for these animals when I am fishing.
  21. Yes ,you should try fishing if there is a healthy population of baitfish present. Every location is different, but I have success using the following lures when it comes to catching Bass in a short amount of time; Rebel Pop-R Spinnerbait Rapala jerkbaits Texas rigged Zoom super fluke Texas rigged Senko Texas rigged Trick worm
  22. Nice bass Jeff! That is a beautiful trophy bass that many guys in Florida have never caught and would do anything to catch.
  23. Look for areas with lots of baitfish, the bass will be close.
  24. How's your trip going?I recently went to the canal and park I mentioned earlier, the largemouth and peacock bass are biting well.
  25. That particular "record" is something many of us break often.Hundreds of bass fishermen every year in Florida catch bass in excess of 24",yet none of them challenge that longest bass record since it's a joke. There's been a couple guys that have caught +28" bass in the state of Florida this year alone...
