  1. Your going to have a great time there, that place is a outdoorsman paradise.
  2. That will get the heart pumping a little faster for sure!
  3. That's a good one!Where do I begin to describe my fondness of bass fishing...here's a couple that show I might like bass fishing a little too much; 1.I have fished countess times in unsafe weather conditions because I had a "feeling" I was going to get a big bite.Got rained on more days doing this than I caught biggin's,but it was worth all the trouble.I don't do this anymore though. 2.I have drove +5 hours one way(+10 hour drive time) to go bass fishing on several occasions, with one of those trips on the same day.Caught several bass over 24 inches on this day and my better half was with me on each of these long distance trips. 3.I have gone bass fishing in areas that most people won't go to since you have to be surrounded by big alligators. You have to walk though the swamp to get here, and it's a long walk in the middle of nowhere. Haven't done this trip in years, but man is that place loaded with fish! 4.I had a close friend of mines get very upset with me one day since I didn't want to join him every single weekend in his boat to do offshore fishing for kings, dolphin, wahhoo, snapper, grouper, and other types of tasty fish.He said that he didn't understand why I was wasting my time with bass.I explained to him how challenging it is to catch big bass from land and he couldn't care one bit for it.I have gone fishing with him for years and he still thinks bass fishing is a waste of time.Oh well, guess I might be a little too fond of bass fishing.

Don't trust the car dealership, they just want to sell you the car to make commission. Get every car your interested in checked out by someone who's a expert in the type of car you want, preferably by a certified mechanic with a proven history of being reliable.
  5. I have caught a couple blue crabs in a canal that is 100% freshwater and this canal is +15 miles away from the ocean.Never a dull fishing trip in Florida , the fishing capital of the world.
  6. I have had success using loud lure colors when the water visibility is bad.
  7. Beats being a drug addict or some other self inflicting habit.
  8. Every single bass fisherman makes mistakes on the water,it's part of the game. What matters most is that you learn from your mistakes and use that knowledge to become a better bass fisherman.
  9. Various types of paddletail, wakebait, and other type of swimbaits . I make a couple for personal use and it's very satisfying to catch a big bass on your own creation compared to something that is store bought. You can get started in swimbait fishing by using 3-6" paddletail swimbaits that are currently in the market. Most are good.
  10. Swimbaits
  11. That's true.I think it's safe to say that fishermen don't like those that speed in a no wake zone.
  12. I have heard that people who like to drive jetski's(or boats) fast in a nowake zone are over compensating for shortcomings they have with personal inadequacies.
  13. Wow,80lb test braid for frog fishing line?I can see 80lb test braid being used for heavy swimbaits, but it seems excessive for frog fishing. That's what I sometimes use when doing offshore fishing for fish that are much bigger and stronger than any largemouth bass can be.Been using 30lb test braid for years for frog fishing and haven't had a single big bass(have caught several +10 pound bass) break the line when hooked up on a frog.I always check my knots, cut off any line that's damaged, and put new line in my reel every couple months.
  14. Yes the bread ball sinks slowly and the carp will eat it when it's sinking or on the floor. A 36" grass carp is a good sized one that should weigh at least 12-16 pounds, they will be fun to catch on light tackle. You don't have to chum for them, all you have to do is observe where the carp are eating and what time they eat.Go during those times and present the carp bread balls, corn ,grapes, prepared carp baits, etc and you will eventually catch them.
  15. @Yeajray231 , the hardest part about carp fishing is locating them. You can try chumming the area with bread for a couple days, that should get them in feeding mode (try chumming at the same time each day to teach the carp to come back for more bread in the same spot).
  16. I like to use Italian sliced bread or any type of sliced bread for carp. What I do is roll up a small ball of bread and completely cover the hook with the bread ball.I don't use any weight and slight cast the bread ball a couple feet in front of the carp.Make sure to be gentle when releasing carp since they get stressed easily when caught.
  17. Anyone here likes catching fish on top water frogs? If the answer is yes,the snakehead fish might be something you may want to target one day.Snakeheads love smashing a topwater frog, fight better than a bass of equal size, and leaps out of water often.
  18. Spotted tilapia have been here since the mid 1970's.They are originally from Africa. Mayan cichlids have been here since 1983.They are originally from Central America. Peacock bass(a species of cichlid)have been here since 1984 when they where introduced by the state of Florida. They are originally from South America. Bullseye snakeheads have been here since the year 2000.They are originally from Asia. I can mention other species of exotic fish, but the point made is the bass fishing is great in South Florida, even with several established species of exotic fish. Its common to catch a +5 pound bass in South Florida, at least for me in the locations I fish (which are filled with various species of exotic fish).
  19. Always a good trip when you catch quality sized bass on frogs.
  20. A person is not going to catch many bass if they spend more time fishing on the Internet than they do fishing on the water.
  21. South Florida is definitely a paradise for exotic gamefish, that's for sure. Its also a paradise for quality sized bass, which proves these exotic fish aren't as detrimental to largemouth bass populations as some might want you to believe.I rather live in a area where I can catch fish from 5 different continents than live in a area with a small selection of species to target. Besides many of our exotic fish fight much harder pound for pound than most native freshwater fish.
