Market for trophy bass ?
Fishing in these trophy bass lakes isn't much different than going to a far off destination with little fishing pressure in the hopes of catching a +10 pound bass. You still have to trick the bass to bite the lure in the end the day, even though these bass are significantly easier to catch than trophy public water bass.

Help Please ASAP
You should be able to land salmon with the rod you mentioned. It is a well made rod that is capable of landing large fish if you don't abuse it. Take care of the rod and you will have it for many years.

How to work a hollow body frog
Hollow body frogs work both in open water and Lilly pad areas. Here's a couple ways you can fish it; Cast it,let it rest, pop it 1-5 times, wait for the ripples to die and pop again, repeat. Cast it,let it rest, pop it slowly all the way back to you. Cast it,let it rest, reel slowly with a occasional pop in the retrieve. I use 30 pound test braid and so far it has helped me land several +8 pound bass. You can use heavier braid if you want.

It's Too Dang Hot! How to fish?
It's even hotter with higher humidity down here in South Florida and the fishing has been great for me.Focus on fishing early in the morning, late in the afternoon, on cloudy days, and at nighttime.

Warning its gross, What happens when I forget sunscreen for 5 hours.
That's a bad sunburn. Next time wear a long sleeve shirt, and apply a good layer of sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30 on exposed areas. If you have sensitive skin choose a formula for sensitive skin. Try to stay away from the sun until that heals!

Shore Angler
Here are a couple areas to look for that can be productive in almost any body of water; drop offs close to the shore. sunken trees, especially if the trees have been in the water for years. areas where 2 or more bodies of water meet. areas of heavy aquatic vegetation that are close to a area of little aquatic vegetation. areas where there is a lot of baitfish. Bass tend to stay close to their prey. areas where they are manmade structures, such as bridges, piers , docks , spillways or similar structures. Good lures to use from the bank are the following; soft plastics such as swimbaits, senkos , flukes, worms, crawdads , other types of creature lures. hard plastics such as topwaters, jerkbaits, crankbaits, lipless crankbaits. Spinnerbaits , buzzbaits , hollow body frogs are great lures for a shore based bass fisherman as well.

Southeastern VA
Try fishing the frog near heavy vegetation during lowlight periods, such as sunrise, sunset, and cloudy days. Nighttime is also a good time to fish a frog lure.

Just Doesn't Matter
Great subject with a lot of people bringing up good points! I have been bass fishing longer than some members have been alive and I have realized that expensive gear is not truly needed to catch bass, even the big ones.I have caught the vast majority of my bass on gear many would frown upon on since its ''cheap'' in their eyes. The fact is a big bass is a big bass whether caught on a $100 combo or +$600 combo and nothing can change that!

Color ?
This is a great subject and I agree with others that the exact color of the lure might or might not matter on a particular day. I have had days where lure color made no difference at all, the bass would bite anything presented well to them on those days. I have had days where I present them every lure color I have on me, yet the bass would only bite 1 specific color with a specific technique. Bass are a fascinating species of fish, and are much more intelligent than most people give them credit for!

Frog Fishing struggle!!!
Be patient since frog fishing is a great way to catch bigger than average bass.Have caught many quality bass this way, including several that where + 8 pounds. I prefer using braid when fishing frogs since I feel it increases my hookup rate.30 pound test should be more than enough(this is what I use) but you can use higher pound test if you want.Wait until the frog disappears before setting the hook.Give a solid hookset, but there's no need for a exaggerated hookset.

Time of day/conditions to throw a frog?
My favorite time to throw a frog(or any type of hollow body lure) is during low light conditions such as cloudy days, sunrise, sunset, etc. That's how I caught most of my big bass on these types of lures down here.

When looking at the forecast, what's your wind threshold
I got used to fishing windy days since it's so common down here.Anything under 30 mph or so means I will still go bass fishing if the rest of the weather forecast isn't so bad.
