What Weight Jig Do U Throw Most?
Thanks for all the replies guys, really appreciate it. I don't have much time around the lake I fish to turn over rocks and see what color the crawdads are. And I know it depends on the time of yr and even the part of the lake they live in. Then when they molt they change color, it's crazy. I emailed the lake biologist but he never replied. I fish Lake Fork in Tx if anyone else fishes that area of the country and has a grasp on color and type of craws I would be trying to imitate. As far as weight I guess I will fish as light as possible cuz it's tons of stumps with roots and the heavier jigs tend to get hung easier?

What Weight Jig Do U Throw Most?
Need to make a jig purchase. While I'm asking what weight u throw most what about color? Some of these companies like Dirty make a ton of colors. I fish as a co-angler and almost all these guys are bank beaters. 14ft usually the deepest but usually shallower, when I t-rig I fish as light as possible mostly 1/4 and 3/16oz. Was thinking of mostly buying 3/8oz jigs plus the trailer should be ok? If I go up should I just get the 5/8 instead of only going up an 1/8th to 1/2oz? Thanks guys!

LC CRANKBAITS?
Do you fish the flats in cold water? And in open water as its not a traditional squarebill and will get hung if fished like one.

CHOOSING COLORS FOR CRANKBAITS
Sure dont, has taken me almost 40 yrs lol.. Yes a reaction bite, and they can feel the vibrations but I think it helps if they can see it from a short distance also. In which if the water is stained then color does matter.

CHOOSING COLORS FOR CRANKBAITS
It's not a matter of only having a few lol. Last time I checked I had over 800 hardbaits. That's the problem I'm buying too many that I probably don't need. If I could get down to 6 or 7 of a model that would be good buy even that seems like a lot considering how many models and manufacturers there are on the market. I was looking at the LC RTO on sale at TW that model alone comes in 3 different sizes and I think 27 colors. I had 4 different models in my cart only a cpl other things and was over 800 bucks.

CHOOSING COLORS FOR CRANKBAITS
I'm really bad when it comes to buying baits, I'm pretty bad with softbaits and even worse with hardbaits. Everytime I choose a certain model I want on TW and start goin through them I feel as if I need almost every color. In my mind I think like what if I'm on the lake and they want this color but I don't have this one, hence the desire to purchase so many. I'm about to place a TW order and need your guys help. What staple colors do you buy? How many? I fish Fork in Tx and it normally has a stain to it, I would say 1 to 2ft of visibility most of the time give or take. Maybe 2 crawfish 2 shad and 2 bright/chartreuse colored baits? It's just hard, for me anyway with so many shad and other color variations. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

Need A Reel For Swimbaits
So I picked up a 8' Zillion swimbait rod for an amazing $100 brand new and now need a reel for it. I'm set on the ABU Revo Beast. 2 of the reviews on TW said they were using it for SB also. It holds 180 yards of 12lb so I figured it will hold 20 25lb line. It only weighs 9.4oz is low pro and has a 22lb drag. And I also found it for half price. They are $350 on TW, so is anyone else using the Beast as a SB reel? Thanks

Zillion Rods
Just received my 2 Zillion rods today. I can't wait to get them out on the water. My first impressions, I love em! Build quality and attention to detail is excellent. I purchased the 8' H SBR & the 8' MH Glass CBR, they are very light for how big they are and are not tip heavy. They both have long eva foam handles that tuck under your armpit making them easier to hold for long periods. I was skeptical at first because there is like no info on these rods but I purchased both shipped for $250 when they are priced at $300 a pc. I'm so so glad I purchased them and couldn't be happier. Hope this helps anyone else that may be interested in either model. The CBR is rated 1/2 - 2oz. and the SBR is rated for baits 5 to 10 in. I needed a CBR for 10xds and this should be perfect.

Soft Plastic Swimbait Storage
Yes like the RI little and skinny dipper. But yrs I will boil and hang, I do that to my flukes but don't hang. Not sure why I didn't think of that lol.

Any way to store or straighten out boot tail swimbaits that come in bags all jacked up and don't swim right at all?

Rod Cleaner
I'm gonna check out the products on the site mentioned above. But as of now when I get a new rod the cork gets sealed with U-40 and the rod and new reel get a lite coat of pure carnuba wax on them. After coming off the water I wipe the rods down with some windex on a rag.

Tauten Linewelder
I read an article on it a while back. You have to use these pieces of plastic with it. And to me they are too big and the big downfall of the product. You cant use it to attach a leader, and if I remember correctly you will always have a loop knot tied to your bait when using it.

Palomar also.

Frog line Stright braid or braid to mono?
Its not in your head lol. Same reason I like braid for all my topwater, because of the stretch associated with mono. But I use a short heavy/stiff mono leader for my treble walking baits so I'm not wrapping the trebles up in the braid all the time.

Holding a bass.
I hate hate it when these guys crank their jaws like that and anything over 3 4lbs in my book needs it's ass supported. Texas lost a cpl share lunkers recently from broken jaws. That and the cool new thing too do palm striking the jig out of the fishes mouth, can't stand that either.

Finding fish - deep to shallow or shallow to deep
Depends on the the time of yr for me. But in the middle of summer like now my majority of fishing is deep but I usually start and end the day shallower. There is nothing more satisfying than finding fish on deep structure and catching them. It's like spot and stalking deer.

Got my new Loomis NRX 852s today...
That's a shame man, I have that rod and love it for my topwater and light soft plastics. This one co. I deal w ships all my rods in PVC pipe which is so nice. Then I have it to use in the future. If they are a reputable co. they will ship u another rod immediately overnight.
