  1. I'm looking for a new rod and reel to travel with in a car. I just won a tournament and I have $200 to spend. It doesn't necessarily have to be a combo but it does have to be compact and able to fit in small areas. It will be for just bank fishing in small ponds that I find at baseball tournaments. Oh and the caster has to be left handed too:). Thanks!

Alright, so I'm lookin to add some new hard baits to my collection. I'd like some recommendations on square bills and normal crank baits. Anything will help, Also, any chatter bait recommendations are welcome too.
  3. WOW, I'm impressed! I wasn't expecting this many responses! Thanks to everyone who contributed something! I think I'm gonna try the XCalibur's and the Strike King Red Eye.
  4. Alright so I've tried some Livingston's and those didn't quite work for me. Now, some of you may say it isn't the lure and that it's me. Well I've switched lure brands before but kept the same type of lure and fishing seems to pick up so... I guess I am asking for your favorite brand. Some things to take into mind are color, durability, price, and of course presentation. Anything helps! Tight lines everyone!
  5. Alright, so I've decided I'm gonna buy myself a Dobyns Fury Casting Rod. Only problem is I've heard they don't run true to how heavy they are. I've looked on Tackle Warehouse and they have suggestions but everyone says those are inaccurate. Little trouble since everyone has a different opinion. I'm lookin for something that's 7 foot and ideal for spinner baits, buzz baits, senkos, square bills, jigs and can handle frogs too. This gives me a choice between the 703 and 704 models. I need some advice from people with experience and thanks to all who contribute. Tight lines everyone!
  6. Any specific brands or types?
  7. Alright so, I just got my first bait caster and it's time to select a rod. I'm planning on doin a wide variety of things varying from throwing a weighted Texas rig to buzz baits to frogs to square bills and I need a nice overall rod. It's not gonna be my money I'm spendin but I wanna keep it under $200 for sure and try keeping it under $160. Anything helps! Thanks!
  8. Alright so I have seen some videos of people doing this but they do not explain how. I would like to try this out as my lipless crank game isn't the best. So, if you know about "yo-yoing" or any other good tips and techniques, it would help and I'd greatly appreciate it.
  9. Alright so I'm thinkin about addin some spinner baits to my arsenal. I know there are tons of types and many different brands so I'm confused as you can tell. I need some insight on some good brands and what type of blades, colors, how many blades, etc. Thanks in advance!
  10. Alright, I'm going to enter a tournament with some friends this weekend and I need some help with lure and technique selection. The lake is 10 feet at the most but common depth is around 6 feet. The water is incredibly clear and I've had luck on a shallow diving minnow multiple times. That was onshore though and they were all small in general. I am planning to string up the minnow and maybe a buzz bait and I would like some backup lures and techniques if they fail. Anything helps!
  11. Alright, thanks guys, this helps a lot.
  12. thanks man you're reply was a lot better than the last and I will definitely consider this
  13. I'm looking to get a bait caster for my birthday. I have never owned one and I'm looking for a beginner's reel. Price isn't really an issue but I would like to keep it a bit lower. It would also help if you can recommend a rod too. Anything to look for and to stay away from help. Thanks.
  14. I just spooled my Ugly Stik with braid and I have been having trouble tying my knot on the braid. I usually use an improved clinch knot for monofilament but it is much harder to tie on braid. Any suggestions?
  15. I live in Florida and I just bought a Boo-yah Pad Crasher. Obviously, I don't have much experience with frogs but I have my friends help for technique. My questions are, what time of day are the best to use a frog and what kind of weather is the best type?
