  1. Theyre working great. I was using a black and blue one before that and it was what snapped off on the first fish. Totally my fault, I shouldve retied after getting snagged on rocks.
  2. Finally decided it was time to get out, only one lake (40 acres) around me didnt ice up this year. Planned on catching my first jerkbait bass, but the water was very dirty, almost muddy. Probably 1ft of visibility and about 45° water. Main plan of attack was targeting the shoreline on a steep rock bank (see photos below), which had rocks for about 3ft past the waterline and transitioned into a real soft sandy bottom. Stretched about 100 yards. Well the day started off pretty bad, the wind was really starting to pick up and I was in a plastic two man boat which just got blown all over the place. About an hour in I was casting a Black and Blue bladed jig as close as I could to the shore, slowly trolling up the bank. I finally get a real soft bite a few feet off of shore where the rocks stop, and didnt set the hook very well, and sure enough as soon as I was reaching down to grab the bass(probably 3lbs or so), he does one final swing and snaps me right off. Man was I bummed. I switched to another bladed jig, more of a well...I dont know what to call the color, but it looked like it was made for dirty water. The wind finally stopped and I landed this guy. Didnt have a scale but hes definitely the biggest bass Ive ever caught in my short time! On the other end of the lake theres were about 10 or so isolated brushpiles half sticking out of the water. Pitched a jig around every single on of them, and nothing..... Worked back up the rock bank pitching a jig, eager to catch my first jig fish, but not very confident in actually catching one. Sure enough, I felt a little mushy pull and my line swimmed off! It was a great feeling Just a great day. New pb, first jig fish, Im happy.
  3. Roboworms are really popular and my personal favorite. Pretty much all I use actually gor drop shotting haha
  4. Are the '13 Metaniums still available? Every jdm website Im looking at is sold out.
  5. Just checked out bccboards.com Wow you guys werent lying....this is exactly what I was looking for!
  6. I agree. The simplicity/elegance of the kayak is by far the most attractice idea in kayaking to me. I have no problem paddling to get from place to place. Im mostly thinking about positioning and battling against wind/current.
  7. Been pondering the idea of a kayak. Ive seen lots of threads on how to put a trolling motor on a kayak, but I couldnt get a good sense of how many did this. The idea is a bit off putting to me. Im want to get an idea of how necessary some of you feel it is. I know that its personal preference but Id still like to see who of you do put trolling motors on your kayaks and why.
  8. I have a spiderware pack that holds about 5 3600 boxes. Nice backpack yeah, but worth 70 bucks? Na
  9. So the lipless are good, what about the other hard baits? Any good reviews of them? I cant find much on them
  10. Eager to hear some personal reviews on these. If they fish decent for that price thatd be awesome.
  11. I have a rarenium 1000s and I really like it. Although I did almost lose a jerkbait yesterday and when I spooled it haha.
  12. Probably Brandon Palunik. His hometown is really close to me in northern Idaho, and I know hes spent alot of time fishing lake CDA, hayden, and pend oreille. Would be interesting to fish those waters with him.
  13. 1/8th 90% of the time, but I almost never fish deep
  14. So what would the benefit be of a slow sinker(specifically the rapala shadow rap)? Do I need to be more careful of snagging it then? I guess I just dont have a good idea if how fast its going to sink haha. Also can anybody explain a good beginner LC jerkbait to get? So many options....flash minnow, pointer, flash pointer...whatever SP and MR are...thanks guys
  15. Fishing specific backpack here. Has a compartmenr in the front that can hold 3- 3600's, and 3 3601's. Keep a gallon back of plastic in the main top part. In the secondary one I keep small spools of leaders. On the two waist side pocket things I have a scale in one and some electrial tools/electrical tape so if something goes awry with the trolling motor on my little boat Im not SOL
  16. Thanks for the ideas guys. So coating the bottom is pretty much out of the picture then. Perhaps I overdid the "worn" hull. I mean it has alot of scraps but nothing appears to be too bad. Usually Im loading/unloading it myself. The worst part of it is to get it from where I have to store it to the pickup is about 75ft of grass where I have to tilt it on to its side to fit through the gate. I tend to park about 10ft up the ramp and then drag it the rest of the way, maybe Ill just try and get as close to the water as possible to reduce dragging. Thank you guys again for your suggestions. If it would help I could get some pictures of the bottom and you guys could let me know if its anything I need to be worried about?
  17. How many megabass rods do you have now? Im saving up for a XX perfect pitch atm, any megabass esp orochi's have me drooling right now haha.
  18. This has been me since november...
  19. Excellent idea! Whats sort of stores would have that? And should I apply it to the whole bottom? Thanks a bunch
  20. Looking for some ideas on reinforcing, and strengthening the plastic bottom of my pelican boat. I dont beleive its a bass raider. Its about 12 ft long but it is pelican brand. Its shaped a bit a bit differently with a flat bottom. I got it for $200, so I figured its a good deal, but the thing has had some pretty deep scratches in it, and it looks to have been drug around a fair amount. If one of the scratches were to open up or fracture, what would I be able to do to fix it. The first idea I had was to put a piece of sheet metal over it then use duct sealant to seal it up(worked in hvac for awhile haha). When dragging it on the ground it mostly lays even, but most of the scratches are in the front corner and the back corner. Anything I can do to strengthen it up so I can drag it without fear of scratching it? I know the best option would be to get a trailer, but its out of the option. And when Im loading it and unloading a 12' boat thats about 4' wide, it almost forsure has to get drug across concrete a little bit. Thanks!
  21. I was trying out a rage craw on a jig in a bathtub full of water and noticed the same thing. Definitely waiting to hear some others thoughts on this. I thought rage craws were the highest recommended trailers on BR.
  22. Siebert Outdoors /thread
  23. Well it shouldnt be that hard to correct. Dont know how it iustifies a company not responding to any emails.
  24. Ordered a reel a couple months ago from JLS. After I placed the order but before it shipped, I tried to contact them and change to a different size reel and pay the difference, but I learned that wasnt going to happen haha. Took about 3 emails and 2 days to respond, and their response was all jumbled up and illiterate, like theyd just used google translate or something. Emailed them again saying I couldnt understand them and their next response was just as bad. So just pray thay nothing goes wrong with your order haha. Not saying theres a higher chance with them but I have no idea how you would be able to sort it out.
