  1. Is 13 your favorite rod company? I dont know why Ive been so hesitant to try them out.
  2. I wish Shimamo had a better warranty! I would be all over their rods
  3. Hey let me know how you like it! Im reallh interested in the avid x series
  4. With the avid x and mojo being built on the same blank it seems pretty hard to justify the 70 extra dollars. Other than the slightly cheaper guides, warranty, and country of origin, is there anything Im missing?
  5. Awesome thread, really good read. Been searching alot of threads for good info on all aspects of co angling and I learned alot from this thread!
  6. Which of those do you prefer? Ive only used the swing impact, havent really heard much on the east shiner yet
  7. Looking to get into jerkbaits this spring. As of right now Im working with two setups. While not being ideal, Im wondering if these two combos would get the job done: 6'10" ML/XF spinning rod w/ 10lb braid 6'10" MH/F casting rod w/ 12lb yo zuri hybrid
  8. Check out this video if you haven't seen it: Looks sweet, Im definitely gonna get one!
  9. Sweet!!! I was gonna pick up a 200I but I think im gonna hold out.. On that website it shows that theres going to be a HG model and XG model. Would it be same to assume that the XG model would he in the 8:x:1 range?
  10. Awesome thread, really couldve used this about a month ago when I was trying to learn the basics on them
  11. Were they both the same action? (Fast, moderate, etc)
  12. War eagle spinnerbaits are 20% of at sfttackle.com right now.
  13. This seems like some really nasty stuff. Is the benefit of it even worth the chance of what the aftermath would be if you were to spill it over everything? Haha
  14. Heard really good things about the Mattlures Hardgill swimbait. No personal experience with it though.
  15. Well maybe that is something I really should learn, because I have no idea how to do it. Ive never hauled around anything before. Might just have to learn by watching the first few times, not gonna really have a chance to learn or practice backing up a trailer. Oh well though from the sound of it most co anglers dont know how either. I can tell its important to learn though so Ill definitely make a point to lay attention.
  16. Well thats good news, thanks for the help guys!
  17. I know there isnt a single solid answer for how much experience you should have before becoming a co angler in a rather small club, but how much typically how much should you have? I started fishing in early summer, and have been infatuated with it since. I read about it, think about, and do it as often as I can. I definitely want to do it competitively in the future, but I know theres only so much you can know in one season. I also have only fished out a boat 2-3 times. But I bought a small boat a month ago so next year Ill get much more aquianted with fishing from a boat.
  18. Now that theyve been out for a little bit, has anyone gotten a chance to try them out? Read a few threads on TT but I wanted to see if anyone here had anything to say about them.
  19. Would yo zuri hybrid work for frogs? I know braid is the most popular choice. Im gonna get a jig rod that I would like to be able to throw frogs on also, so mu options are braid+leader or yo zuri hybrid.
  20. Same here...i have them in my closet, and have them leaning nearly straight up, just enought so they dont tip backwards. The only place the rod touches is about 70% up the rod. I couldnt imagine that doing anything adverse to the blank.
  21. youre gonna be rich!
  22. In what situation would you use a ned rig over a drop shot?
