Fished the banks of the C-4 canal close to the Palmetto Expressway this morning. Started of slow but managed to land some nice peacock bass. Heck of a fight these guys put up. Ended up catching 4 peacocks after a couple of hours.

Alright thanks for the help. My dad was interested in Lake George. Anyone have any experience on that lake? I am leaning toward Lake Toho for now.

Hey guys looking for some advice. I am planning a fishing trip with my father later on this year in March-April. I would like to get 2-3 days of solid fishing on this trip. Do any of you have some recommendations on a great fishing areas/lodges/camps in Florida? I am not opposed to saltwater fishing if any of you know of good areas. Also, I would like to get a guide for 1 of these days. Any suggestions?

I am of the same mindset as BassKid and would like to know what are some of the main qualities you are looking for in a rod and reel for a first baitcaster? I've used one a couple of times but never felt comfortable with it.

Were any of these ponds connected to the canal system? I have been fishing small ponds in the Kendall area and not having much success lately.

I've never had much success at Tropical Park. If I do it's at the lake by the Equestrian Center.

Caught a bowfin and alligator gar on the C-1 black creek canal earlier today. Only 1 largemouth. Way out west close to krome ave.

Went fishing on the C-1 canal far out west. Caught my first bowfin and alligator gar. Had to look up the fish, I thought it was a snakehead at first. Only one largemouth on the day hoping for better luck next time.

I love the fights peacocks put up, even the smaller ones.
