  1. I'm not going get into quality of online schools as I have never went through a program of theirs. Lot of schools' graduate programs will not accept a bachelor degree from some of these online courses nor will they transfer to undergraduate programs at traditional universities. As for traditional universities having online courses (I took a couple myself.), they can be just as bad. I took English 1 online and it wasn't too bad since all I had to do was write 7 argumentative papers. When I got into the accounting program, they offered Principle of Accounting online, but I chose to take it in the classroom. All of my accounting professors has noted that students who took it online failed it more than students who took it in the classrooms. As a result, ETSU continues to refuse to allow higher level accounting classes to be taken online which inconvenienced a lot of adults who wanted to pursue an accounting degree part-time while working full-time. My point is that technical intensive courses like math subjects, accounting/finance, some economic courses, chemistry, etc., seem to have a higher failure rates than the ones that take it in a traditional setting. This is just my observation from what I saw when I was in college. Of course it could be true that some other places could be different or similar results. When all you have to do is few pages of reading and type papers, it just the student's attitude that determine the success, when you're doing extreme technical courses it can be confusing and frustrating. At least it would be for me. Edit: Also online schools turned education into a for-profit-business. Kinda sicken they just pop up all over the place selling courses that likely NOT to transfer to traditional schools. Lot of those cannot receive government funds either. (If they have that about to change if this new student loan bill that Obama proposed goes into effect.)
  2. In my opinion, online courses are the worst thing that ever happened to education... Best of luck.

  4. Has anyone taken one of those Amtrak Vacations? They got several national park tours that looks interesting. Gives you an opportunity to sample each national parks. I been looking at doing an Amtrak Vacation or just simply taking a train trip to the west somewhere. (Like Seattle, Colorado, etc.) I'm thirsty for an adventure. I got a savings account where I just want blow it on an adventure by myself and discover the world around me. Anyway, just curious if anyone done a trip like this and if it was worth it. Edit: For those of you that may not have heard of such vacation, here is a link: http://www.amtrak.com/all-inclusive-train-vacation-packages I've been browsing the Independent Rail Journey page.
  5. One day, toe shoes will go the way of Crocs.
  6. You can make stew out of the breast. Good eating for winter months. I like to grill them with bacon wrapped around them. I also add seasons such as garlic salt and cajun rub. You could get creative with marinating in Italian dressing or whatever sauce you would use for traditional meat. Before you cook, I would examine the meat for any small feathers, pellets, etc.
  7. If I wanted see someone struggle to score for 90 minutes I just take my friend to a bar. In all seriousness I do enjoy watching the USA national women's team play.
  8. I've been 10 yards from a black bear in the Smokies. Who cares. They'll leave you alone. Just don't feed 'em human food or allow them have easy rewards to human garbage and they'll be taught to find other easier sources. This is the bear I saw:
  9. In all honesty, I'm fed up with college football. I'm tired of kids getting a free ride to school and only to abuse it. The entire Johnny Manziel debacle, LSU's RB getting arrested pleading guilty twice and is STILL on the football team. Alabama had their shares of trouble, but it just stupid how it happens all across the country. All across the country student-athletes are just living wild and free. Meanwhile in the same classrooms there are people struggling pay for school while trying to invest in a better life where the odds are stacked against them. The fans have created such pressures, but it just sicken see this craps go on every day. I don't even want watch it anymore..
  10. Just remember, his teammates and peers who are upset with this are the same type of people who listen to rap and hip hop musics that utters such words.... That is all I'm saying.

  16. I deleted mine a year ago. I don't regret it. It just a bunch of whiny former classmates using socail media as a mean of venting. Or using social media as if it a person they can talk to. instead of personally deleting them, I just deleted myself.

  19. After number 2 I do wash my hands, throwing up I wash my hands, etc. But a simple little squirt where I only touch skin that no different than skin on rest of my body? (This also assume I don't get any pee on me..) Eh. If the door requires a push to open, I don't even touch the metal plate where 99.99% of people do..
  20. Two things: one I wash my hand before I go to bathroom so I don't get it dirty. Secondly, I was taught not pee on my hand...

  23. Correct. One problem: there is charge discrimination among health providers and insurance providers. Don't believe me? Brew a cup of coffee and start googling the lawsuits. There lies my gripe. You and I go to a bar, we order the same drinks we will get same price. You and I go to doctor and get the same health services, chances are good that the provider will try send two different charges to our different insurance companies.... I hate that.
  24. I'm paying preminum, might as well use the darn thing!
