  1. Feel Free Angler... I can't afford a $240.00 paddle
  2. I'm in the Poconos!
  3. What he said! ^ I tried Sniper last year, didn't care for it. My reels have either mono or Yozuri on them.
  4. Yeah, I wish they'd show a little more of what they're using.
  5. If you have a Dicks near you check them out. I bought a 12ft Sit on top Future Beach Angler 144 from them last year for under $400. I upgraded the seat. But otherwise it's a nice yak and I used it a ton last year! I up graded this year to a Jackson but my son will use the 144 this year.
  6. No they're not prescription. I'd have a real tough time dropping $730 on a pair of glasses.....real tough time.
  7. I have Wiley for motorcycle riding but I didn't like them for fishing. I use Maui Jims for fishing and I love them! I can just see better in the water with the Maui's.
  8. Another vote for rivets! East to use and easy to remove.
  9. And I thought I had a problem....... Ha! You guys make me feel like I only have a modest addiction!
  10. I can't even count the times I was out in my yak last year, too many, and I never stood once.
  11. Look for sales! I picked up my first yak, a 12ft future beach SOT, at Dicks last Feb for $350. The bad part.....its so addictive that I already bought another one!
  12. To fish more!!! I'd also like to "slow down" some of my techniques and to learn how to fish jigs.
  13. Any favorites??? Hint hint! Ha. Seruously, thanks for your help! Much appreciated!
  14. Thanks for your response and suggestions! We can't wait to go! We will be up there for 4 days (June 22-26) and plan on hitting some of the small lakes and spend a day or half day on St. Lawrence. And we all practice catch and release.
  15. Welcome! I'm up in the Brodheadsville area.
  16. Learn a lot them I go spend a lot!
  17. You must not be too far from Bass a Pro in Harrisburg! Welcome.
  18. I have one. Received it as a gift from my son last May. I use it in my kayak, I tie a little string to the top of it and the other end to a side handle on my Yak. I absolutely love it! The detail you get back from it it exceptional. You can see the bottom structures, rock, mud, weeds, picks up fish and shows sizes and battery life has not been an issue. I have been very impressed with it. The battery on the Deeper unit will outlast your phone battery....so I have a back up battery pack and also shut off all phone data to save the battery a bit.Has 2 different sonar bands that help you locate fish and structures then you can change it to get a more detailed look. And it stores a ton of data so you can check out where you went and areas you might want to go back to.
  19. I fished Hidden and Minsi a bunch of times last year from my kayak. Hidden was decent but it's very shallow and gets real weedy in the summer! Anything you use better be weedless! I did great at Minsi last year caught a lot of bass and pickerel. Had the best luck with wacky worms. Saw a guy catch the biggest crappie I've ever seen out of Minsi last fall.
  20. Just joined here yesterday. Use to fish all the time when I was younger then got married had kids....blah blah blah! Got back in to fishing last year...now on my second Yak and buying way too much stuff! But loving it!
  21. Any suggestions on fishing the St. Lawrence on a yak? A few friends and I are heading up this summer for a few days to do some lake fishing but we want to try the St. Lawrence...just wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on launch points, what to use, where to go or where to stay away from! We will be in the Alexandria Bay area in late June. Thanks! New here but loving it!
  22. I just got back into fishing 2 years ago after a long absence! My friends got me out on a kayak and i was HOOKED! (pun) I bought a Future Beach 144 last year and it was a good starter Yak and just recently bought a Jackson Cuda LT. Can't wait to get it on the water! I absolutely love it! You can get into so many tight areas, go right through weeds and pads. A boat might be nice for big lakes but I typically hit small ones and the Delaware river a bit....plus I can just throw it on the roof of my car and go! Now my next addiction is buying gear! I can't stop! ha!
