  1. Try a Carolina Rig with a 14-18" Leader. Use a long Medium-Heavy/Fast action rod. So you can cast into deeper water. Since that's what bass tend to do during the summer
  2. Bagleys makes some decent ones, you can buy those at Cabelas. Also, Walmart carries some with Gamakatsu hooks which is a plus. ? can't remember who makes em'.
  3. Drag it across the bottom, maybe shake it couple times. I mainly use a Zoom Trick Worm.
  4. Do you guys have a Lucky Fishing Rod? I'm talking about that Special Rod in your Arsenal that just seems to catch a fish on every trip. I own many rod a reel setups. But this one just seems to never let me down. Its a Abu Gacia Orra sx Reel on a BPS Extreme Rod. I call it "Old Faithful" I know it's probably just a confidence thing but I like to think its "Lucky".
  5. I've used a Spark plug with a snap swivel. Worked great for me I always keep one in my tackle bag. Hopefully it works for you too. Good luck! *Put the Snap swivel on the Electrobe and close down the gap. Snap onto your line and watch it go.
  6. I caught this Bluegill with a Lipless Crank a while back. I've never seen such a thing, has this happend to any of you guys?
  7. A big mistake alot of people make whenever, they are learning to use a baitcaster, is they dont tighten the line enough whenever they put line onto the baitcaster. They spool up line onto the baitcaster and put hardly any tension, so the line goes on a little bit loose. That is a very common reason why people get backlashes. Try casting out as far as you can and try pinching the line with your fingers as you reel it in that usually helps a bit. *Also your line might be a bit to heavy for the size of lure your trying to use .
  8. I love the San Diego Jam Knot. Only 1 downside, If you get hung up better cut the line because breaking it will be nearly impossible if your using 15# and up...
  9. "There she is..." "Got er'..."
  10. I like a: Medium-Heavy/Moderate Action. 6.3.1 Reel Monofilament Line just my personal preference.
  11. I dont have any Bucco rods, but i do have 2 Falcon Jason Christie rods and i like them both. What SwampLife mentioned above is true, the guides bend fairly easy but they bend right back. Other than that they a great rods definitely worth the money. I really like the feel of the 7' Medium-Heavy/ Moderate Action rod.
  12. I have a boat, but I do alot more Bank fishing. I figured the time it takes me to load and unload a boat I can make several casts extra casts. Since my time on the water is very limited. I also travel alot for work so I always have a Rod and A box of soft plastics. Worms, lizards, creature baits, jigs ect... I like finesse fishing from the bank
  13. I fish off the Bank more than I Do on my boat. I like throwing soft plastics. Texas Rigged, Weightless, Jigs, A lipless Crank if I find grass or weeds. My Favorite rig is the Shakey Head. I almost always catch a fish on it. You can fish it year round, something about it just seems to catch fish. Good Luck
  14. I really like the Abu Garcia Orra sx. I also have a Pflueger Supreme and I can vouch for them both. They are great Reels.
  15. Grab a couple 60°and 90° shakey head jigs. They both have their pros and cons. I usually use a Zoom Trick Worms, My Favorite is the Motoroil color. Also grab some crazy glue. One trick I like to do when throwing a Shakey Head is, I put a little bit of Crazy Glue on the jig head before sliding worm on to the head. That way my Worm can last alot longer and doesn't rip apart when a bass strikes it. *From what I know the 60° Shakey Head ( doesn't get hung up that easy but, doesn't shake as much) A 90° Shakey Head (gets hung up more easy but, shakes a little more than a 60° jig head)
  16. 3 rods: Medium/Fast Action, Medium-Heavy/Moderate Action, Heavy/Fast Action. Shakey heads, zoom trick worms, A couple creature baits, hooks, Chatterbaits, Fish head spin, a couple crankbaits. I fit all this in one backpack.
  17. Try using a Zoom Trick worm on a Shakey Head, around docks, laydowns, brush, basically anywhere you might think a fish can be hiding. I fish from the bank somethimes at Lake Lanier in Ga. I was the same way when I started Bass Fishing. One day when I was at the lake a fella came over and introduced me to the Shakey Head Rig... Since then I'm a believer, I can definitely say " If everything Else Fails, Throw a Shakey Head..."
  18. It's Perfect for Chatterbaits and Crankbaits ?
  19. Chatterbaits and Crankbaits ➡ Medium-Heavy/ Moderate Action Topwater and Jerkbaits ➡ Medium/Fast Action Spinnerbaits and Buzzbaits➡ Medium-Heavy/Fast Action
  20. Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver Rage Tail Paca Craw My Favorite Jig Trailers
  21. For jerkbaits i like to use a M/F 6'8" Thats the biggest rod size I would go, so that the rod wont hit the water when jerking the lure. ? Fluorocarbon 8-12lb is my preference...
  22. My first cast this year was a Red Lipless Crank,... caught a 15lb Spot as you can see in the picture J/k
  23. Brikon replied to burrows's topic in Fishing Tackle
I like throwing Archy Head jigs made by Lanier Jigs and Sierbert Outdoors. Pair them up with a Craw type trailer and hold on...
  24. Reaction Innovation- Dippers. My favorite trailer period...
