  1. Thanks, i actually put the 20 pound braid on a 1500 size reel, it only came with 100 yards, so it was perfect, i had to cut 10 yards out to make up for the backing. I use a 8 pound seagull invisx leader.
  2. i know it isn't ideal, but will 8 pound saguaro work as a leader?
  3. force is a braid, it is made by tuf line. just wanted to clarify...
  4. Like i said, my dad bought it, with the thought that bigger is better, that was when i just got into fishing 6 times a week. It is a little bigger than a 2500 size, just holds lots of line
  5. my dad recently bought a 4500 size Okuma stratus spinning reel. It is rated for 270 yards of 8 pound mono. I was hoping to put 125 yards of yellow tuff line force 15 pound test. i would use an 8-10 pound seaguar linvisx leader. 1. will this be enough line 2. do i need a backing 3. is invisx a good leader 4. is tuff line force good?
  6. Within the next year, I want to get an actual fishing craft. I have an inflatable canoe, a SUP board, and a small sit in kayak, and a 10 foot jon boat, no motor. I want to find an inexpensive way to fish small lakes. I like the field and stream kayaks, also the ascend ones too. I am also considering a 12 foot jon boat, that i would add a casting deck to. I want it to be 12' so that i don't need a trailer. I will leave it at my lake house and will get it to the lake by hooking it to my go kart and will buy wheels. I think i like a jon boat better, but it will be harder/more expensive, but I'm not sure. thanks
  7. Hello, I recently got a 10 foot jon boat from a friend of a friend, it has an anchor, and oars, but no title. It was made by sears. Very hard to cover water with because i have to paddle, and not overly stable. I keep it at my lake house, which is right on the water. I am 15 years old, 5'8" and weigh about 150 pounds. My friend has a lowe rowboat. i would guess its 12-14 feet long. Upon my suggestion he converted it into a "bass boat". it is quite stable with two people, and moves quite fast with a 36 pound thrust motor and two people. I am considering saving up my money to buy a better boat. i have several questions. 1. What is a good length? I will use it solo most often, with my dad (200lbs) or a friend, plus trolling motor, and battery, and gear. 2. Is the bass boat upgrade worth it, it seems better for casting and looks cool? 3. Electric only lake, saw a transom minn kota 45 pound thrust for 200 at a store, is this overkill or undersell. Should i keep saving for a bow mount foot one? 4. Can i make my own trailer? thanks
  8. I want to go fishing, but it is raining, last time it poured and two of my reels didn't work as well, but they were submerged in water. Can i use a casting reel without issues in the rain, it is not pouring.
