i use speed clips and braid together for all my cranks spinnerbaits and plastics line gets tied to the hook direct

i use a rapala dt 6 my brother uses a speed trap in the 1\4 oz when we got to water deeped then say 6 foot i went with dt 10 or norman deep little n my brother uses bomber fat free shad as for hot colors they were white, chrome,silver and greenfiretiger we have not used lippless cranks on the river so i am sorry i am no help there

i fish pool 12 every weekend im sure there is a better population of small mouth further north i would fish them just like u would walleye throw cranks on the wingdams they will be marked with green and red boyou start with the green 1s fish from the bank out throwing cranks u just want to barely bump the bottom and hang on tight u will catch monster perch, walleye, and catfish but mostly smallmouth bass if fishing bye the bank doesnt get u bit work your way out the wing dam watch your depth finder u want to stay on top or close to either side of the wing dam u could even throw over the dam and work it deep to shallow as for large mouth u will probally find them in the grass or laydowns along the channel i havnt had much luck in the back waters i am a crankbait fisherman so im sure u could get bit with plastics but i fish 90% of the time with cranks there is a member on here i think his name is cade he fishes the pools where u are going to be fishing and he has some pics of some huge smallmouth he catchs all the time id look in the smallmouth section of this forum u will find his pics there he could probally help u more then me but he might be fishing that tourney 2 well i hope this has helped if u have any questions feel free to pm me heres a few maps

im going to say it was probally twice as big as u think i have caught tons of bass 18"-21" and they average from high 3lbs to 5 1\2 lbs to a fish 3 inches bigger should be atleast 2 pounds if not more

wow thats a big crappie i guess everybody else is jealous so they cant comment on the nice trip and cool fish

i recently bought a 2 person bass boat i have a pond that i have been bank fishing for a few years couldnt wait to hit it up with my new boat we got there and with in a few mins had a crappie that went probally 14 inches he fell off the hook as soon as i got him in the boat and managed to make it back to the water before i could get a good hand on him then a little further down the pond i caught this 1 she went on the stringer 15 inches and a pound 1/2 i caught many little bass but that was my only crappie so after fishing around the pond 1 1/2 times and a storm coming in i let her go i catch these size crappies every time i go there just cant catch a bunch for some reason maybe its because i am catching them on 3/8 oz spinnerbaits and big cranks

i love my gold carrot stick i even have a kick butt reel to go with it now tell me that ant the hottest combo u ever seen

heres a few i have got on crankbaits 47 inches dont rember the weight almost 7lbs 28 inch 10 1\2 pounds some kind of carp and last but not least dont know weight and lenght but it was quite funny ;D

if your not invited id say 6lb should work but if u want to keep your job and or be invited with them i would spool there reels with some braid its all i ever use for all my fishing needs if your fishing clear water they have white braid and also camo braid which i find works pretty dang good 65lb braid is about the same diameter as 12lb mono

carrot stix Gold you want light and strong its the lightest out there and a awesome warranty 21CRG621M-F-CW its a 6.2 Med fast tip and weighs 3.0 ozs i have that very rod i used it the other weekend and only fished for maybe an hour but i wasnt real impressed with the rod i dont think its as sensitive as they claim it is my all time favorite rod was my 724 imx g-loomis rod this is a heavy action rod 1\4 oz -1 oz but it sure didnt fish like a heavy rod but had all the power u need when the time came that u needed it i also had my mg 50 on the rod if your on a budget i would look in to g-blank rod and i have had 3 of them u can pick and choose how u want it what blank eyelets handle length split grip

thank you reading a story like that sures gets the blood flowing if i wasnt all ready biting at the bit to go fishing i sure am now still iced over but the main channel but there callin for 40s all week and high 30s for the nights might be some bass fishing in this weekend hopefully

yes it was on bassresource not here on the forum i looked though everything i could think of but couldnt find it i dont rember if i was an interview and he then tells the story or if he told it and someone added it here i was probally more then a few months matt goes out bye him self because the other guy didnt get out of bed gos to 1 spot and in like 24 casts cathes 23 bass over 8lbs it was areally good read and i have forgot some of the story so i was going to back to look and read it again

i read a story a few months ago about matt newman catching 27 bass over 8lbs on 1 trip now i cant find the story anywhere i used the search thing but still no luck if any body guide me to it that would be great

i didn't high stick the rod i believe the rod to be defective if he wasn't going to replace the rod why have me send it to him why not just say i don't do returns as for feedback when i buy something when i receive it and its all there or intact i leave feedback

i bought a rod off ebay from angelak6467 he is a rod builder and calls his rods jawbreakers i bought a rx8 batson rod when it arrived i took it out of rod tube it looked sweet since we have about 12 inches of ice on all fishing spots it sat in the boat for about 2 weeks i got bored so i put a reel on it and spooled it full of line tied my practice crank on and was going to go out in the yard and cast it a few times gave a few tugs on the line to see what the rod felt like and it broke like 4 guides down from the top these weren't like bend the rod in half tugs i emailed him and he said send me back the rod he would replace it so i did mail him the rod i emailed him and told him i sent out the rod and was wondering what he thought the turn around for my new rod would be he emailed me back and said that he would send the blank to the company and they would take a week or 2 it get back to him about the warrenty the blank carries a life time so 3 days later he emails me and says he can get me a new rod but i have to give him $30 i told him no way am i giving u any more money i bought the rod and paid for shipping and paid for shipping back to u again the rod was defective i checked the company's web site and they state that they charge 20 for shipping not 30 like he says so we emailed each other back and forth try-in to come up with a solution which we couldnt he wouldnt budge on the 30 dollars and i felt i put enough money into rod to have to spend 30 more so i told him to give me my money back i would only charge him for the rod and not shipping both times so i filed against him with paypal would u know it they found for him because i gave him good feedback when i first got the rod so im out $125 for the rod and shipping and aneither 25 for shipping and i dont even have the rod he does i know alot of u guys buy from ebay i was wondering what options i have i paid with a credit card though paypal can i file with my credit card company or will they side with paypal i might be wrong but sure feels like a got screwed

u think u have it bad the first 2 rods arent new but the rest are and the gimmick rod

your rod was built with a batson blank and im pretty sure thats there top of the line blank i have 1 of there cheaper models and i must say i really like it so i know u will love urs i bought a jaw breaker rod which is a 7 foot med rod and it was built on a rx8 blank and man does that rod feel sweet the only pro is theres about 14 inches of ice between me and the water so i cant try it out yet

you have a good looking kid im sorry i had to be a wise guy i dont see him in any pics or with him holding any fish jeeze dad your supposed to let him catch a few 2 and yes im jealous theres a foot of ice between me and the water

i use power pro except for 1 rod i use in gin clear water all the others are power pro barid no matter what the use of rod is for i have a few line snaps but i fish mostly rocks and no line holds up good there

i would try ebay u can get a crucial for under $100 but of all rods i have seen non where split grip i know they show them but i havnt seen 1 plus split grip doesnt make a differance on how the rod works its just a personal preferance u might save maybe an ounce if ur lucky well thats my 2 cents

i got 2 in that size and my brother got 3 just alittle bigger id say 10-13 inchers i know the water is under 40 degrees we went sunday because that was the nicest day we had all week lows in the teens at night and highs of barely 35

thats all we ever catch is dinks out of that lake of the 20 or 30 times we fished there this last trip was the best for decent sized fish last week of oct. my brother got a 5.5 out of there other then that its been dinks 1 after aneither with usally 1 3 pounder being caught each trip the biggest problem with that lake is late spring though fall its plum full of weeds and grass not many people fish it and nobody fishes it as hard as my brother and me if ur a panfish guy u would love this lake my cousin went there with us 1 day and filled a 5 gallon bucket with 12-15 inch crappies and 10-12 inch bluegills and sunfish but its usally hit or miss u will catch a ton or none oh yeah my brother swears he seen a 100+ pound spoonbill id say it runs about 12 foot deep though most of the lake
