way to go wish i could be out there catching some fish

that is old seen it many many times all over the internet story changes some but the pics are always the same

i am also from iowa if your close to dubuque we could meet up and do some fishing well of course when the rivers and lakes arent froze

i have caught a few heres the biggest 47 inches dont rember the weight

thats pretty close to the 1 i have and it works good for me pretty dang accurate to i had a rapala scale and the other 1 was way more accurate i grind down the hook to a good point works great but to each there own i guess

i would look on ebay they have tons of scales super cheap i bought a luggage scale [ thats what they called it] it weights oz, lbs, and kg was right around 10 bucks pretty darn cheap for a digtal scale if u ask me i have check it many times with different objects and its all ways dead on

i would call daiwa i would not go though mikes my brother put in an order like 3 months ago and still hasnt got his stuff i called daiwa for a part and i had the part with in 4 days they gave me the part for free and shipping was free

iowa also has that law on culling for bass any bass u catch and put on a stringer or in your livewell needs to be kept we have many turneys around here i dont know how they get away with it i thought i heard they have to get a permit or something but not sure this law has begun this yr if not last year

my brother has the abu in medium 6'6" line and lure weights equal a mh he said it wasn't very sensitive he said it would make a good moving bait rod spinner bait and crank baits but not a very good bottom bouncing rod he also said it is well worth 50 bucks be paid for it from tackle-warehouse oh yeah he went with the full cork and for grip i hope this has helped

i have had the same problem with there spinnerbaits but it seems there t2 1s are the worse havnt had a problem with there t1 version but that is also the more expensive spinnerbait

hit up eBay and get your self a luggage scale them have them for around $9.00 including shipping i don't know why they say its a luggage scale it weights oz lbs and kg

he probally added that after this happened i have talked to larry many times i traded a shimano cumara for 1 g-blank i also traded a Kistler II LTX for his best g-blank which is the rod that broke i never exspected him to send me a new rod for free but to knock $50 off the price of a new and i still have to pay shipping i guess i am spoiled from all the other rod companys i have dealt with

i have to chime in i have owned 4 gblanks they are a great rod but i will never buy another my newest rod from g-blank was bought in 5-27-09 well it broke 4 days ago i emailed Larry and his response was we are not a big company and cant replace our rods when they break we don't make enough money to be able to do that well that really ticked me off i own 4 of his rods i guess customer loyalty means nothing we went round and round about the rod i was using 40lb braid fishing a crank bait over rocks crank bait was a dt6 so it wasn't over loading the rod but since i was using 40lb braid he said i was nuts oh yeah he did offer me $50 off on a new rod i was using his newest blank the 1 he claims is better then glx or any other 400 plus rod i also pointed out on all his eBay adds he compares his rods to rods 2 if not 3 times as expensive and says he puts ring lock guides on his rods so u can use braid but when u use braid it better be that 2-6lb braid Sept. 1 was his last email and he told me to send the blank to the company and have them send the new blank to him and he would redo me a new rod i told him that was a fair compromise but on the warranty card which says lifetime warranty they want you to send them just the blank not guides reel seat and such i told him what if i pay the shipping to you and i will give you $50 in pay pal for you to tear the rod down to just a blank and send it in the company they wanted 20 enclosed to cover shipping and the other $30 was for him send send it back to me i haven't heard a word from him in 3 days so like steezy said if u want a rod that's worth a 150 dollars then this is a good rod but if something happens don't even bother trying to get him to warranty it even when the blank carries a lifetime warranty he lost a loyal member I'm headed back to the big rod companies

i use braid for everything i even use braid with my spinning rod 50lb power pro is like 12 lb mono you wont get a whole lot on the reel but it would work if u are going to go out and buy a new spool of power pro just for him and the spinning rod i would opt for some 30lb at least which is like 6lb mono diameter I'm pretty sure the lower u go with braid the thinner it gets so 12lb braid is like 4lb or 2lb mono i think he will be doing alot of retying and if by chance he hooks a good fish I'm sure u want him to land it so that is why I'm saying get 30 you are taking a newbie I'm sure u want to put him on fish and have him catching not breaking off or losing fish I'm sure others will give you advice

i bought into the omega drama bought 1 it is for the wife i bought a really nice sub 200 dollar spinning reel for her to use since i own all 200 and up bait cast reels well with the spinning reel she is 20 feet on the shore or 20 from the shore wasn't working for her so i bought her the omega reel i used it today and i was not impressed but i shouldn't be because i use reels that are not even close to it but for her I'm sure it would work for anybody else that are starting out fishing cant get a better reel but for an experienced bait cast fisherman it would not do lol I'm sure this is no help so i would say if u want the best spin cast ever made then this is the reel u want

i have had 2 flat bottom boats first 1 was a 1970 polar craft 18 foot riveted came with a 20 horse my 2nd boat is a 2003 g3 all welded 1763 came with a 40 horse fully loaded with 2 of us she runs 31-36mph either boat would work for you 2 guys would get a deck to fish off 3rd guy would fish between u2 from the floor i fish the mighty Mississippi river and on the weekends every baja and jet ski has to run up and down the river so there is quite a few big waves and they handled ok can be a little scarier i haven't taken my boats to any big lakes so cant help u there but cant be much worse then the river with every body and there brother running up and down the channel as for how shallow can u go with the big motor completely out of the water mine floats in 8 inches of water 1 more thing to add when your looking for your boat get 1 with a triangle front not the square front will help allot with waves i would also try not to go below 18foot and get 1 as wide as possible i hope this helps

i feel your pain happens all the time where i live no respect the best was last weekend there must of been a bass tourney going on a guy in a bass boat flies by my brother and i going at least 40 mph i mean like 50 feet from my boat gos up a slough and i said to my brother isn't that super shallow we have to push my Jon boat threw there he says yup not 15 secs latter u hear a big bang must of hit a stump or something i just pulled up the trolling motor and left didn't even check on him hope he drowned then 1 less moron on the river

shallow bandit 100 dt4 mid depth bandit 200 dt6 deep bandit 300 dt10 or bigger i have tried all the other brands and those 2 worked best for me

i am a big crank bait fisherman so that's where i would start the drop in temp if fishing a big pond lake river shouldn't matter much it would take a few days to really drop the water temp i love fishing timber with my cranks bouncing off the wood i use a bigger billed lure seems to deflect off the wood better i have my best luck with bandits 100-300 size and rapala dts if that doesn't work then i would switch to plastics i have never pegged my weight i always texas rig my plastics u can add a bead after weight to add a little more noise and protect knot

that snake will go to about 20 feet a small child, large dog, that is what it would hunt not rabbits a big animal hunts big game so yes i would say letting your pet snake go is bad that lizard in the tree is dangerous 2 my brother had 1 that got to be about 6 foot i used to like that lizard held him all the time then 1 day i opened his cage and he jumped out on my chest like he normally does then he shot for my face and i moved and he got part of my ear i never went near that lizard again my brother and i have had many different reptiles growing up
