  2. well my cousin brother and me got out yesterday to do a little fishing we fished 2 creeks that were open and the channel was open about from shore to 30 feet out we fished plastics and some cranks but didnt have any takers and seen some gar breaking the surface so we threw on some rattle traps and with in a few minutes fish on i ended up with about 7or8 and brother and cousin got about 4 apiece they were all short nose gar but its a fish so we got our fix for a little while plan on gettin the boat out next weekend they opened fishing next to the dams for walleye so im sure thats what we will be going after
  3. i guess we forgot innocent tell proven guilty and i believe he was proven innocent his careeer is over he is losing his house and is bankrupt i know this is going to get alot of good feedback but i must also say 1 more thing look at oj he was proven innocent then made to pay millons [which he didnt ] but look now a few years later it caught up with him again can u say karma if mikey was as bad as every 1 thinks he will get his in the end
  4. i am also from iowa but i dont tourney fish i would message pondhopper i think thats his screenname he is a mod with a iowa forum and they are starting a tourney to fish some lakes in ur area i think theres a few others i cant think of off the top of my head im sure pondhopper can help out more then me
  5. i use norman speed clips i have this little problem when fishing cranks i never leave 1 on for very long always switching tell i find the 1 color and model they really really want
  6. 6 inches is nice to see and play in before it melts but we are with in 6 inches of breaking our most snowfall since they started keeping track the record for my town stands at 78 inches so i am a little sick of seeing snow so enjoy ur little snow storm but im sick of snow to last me tell december
  7. i have a spot not to far from home that has them by the 100s and i can say i go there just to catch them talk about a fun fish to catch they just about yack the pole out of ur hands when they hit and they fight like mike tyson id watch there mouth that have some nasty teeth and wont think twice about taking a chunk out of ya this 1 went a tad shy of 7 pounds
  8. the chronarch is a better reel buttery smooth retrieve better gears i have owned both i had a bpv chronarch and 100d curado both sweet reels but the chronarch was better
  9. i have a 80 lb thrust on my boat and it handles it fine i have to deal with alot of current where i fish and it helps alot u should be fine with 55 just make sure it is bolted tight to ur boat and u shouldnt have any problems
  10. i just had 10 fat raps on ebay only 4 sold but i got $25.75 for 4 lures not bad huh
  11. i like there review they tested it against x,y,z rod is that like uglystick,zebco, shakespere or is it like g loomis, st criox , megabass for 70 dollars ill stick with a premier or compere
  12. I am also from iowa but im on the other side of the state I am a 20 min drive from the mighty mississippi river plus i have a few awesome ponds in my area no lakes i live by dubuque
  13. i have about 20 of them in the 100 and 200 i like the 100 the best for 1-4 foot water
  14. i dont see anywhere in the rules for my fishing tournament or outing where u can only post pictures of bass id say he was very proud of his catch and he should be able to post and show pics of his catch with out someone bashin him because its not a bass and needs to be shoved somewhere else other then the outing section sorry if i stepped on ur toes westpalmdude but feel u did the same to fivepoundbluegill and ruining this great thread about a very cool fish ps we have 5 great guys that all ready have that job

  16. i had the compre casting 6'6" mh and it was a sweet rod i used it for cranks spinnerbaits and it worked great and they have a really good warrenty for under $100 best rod u can buy
  17. dont trust everything u hear i also bought into how great of a reel the stx is and it didnt even come close to what most say i heard it casted a mile even out casted the steez but [20 years of using a baitcaster] i could not get it to cast any where close to what people said it would do another big drawback for me was once i bought my mg and used a lite lite reel everything else felt super heavy i had my curado on arruis xl rod which weights like 5oz [very heavy rod] and had the stx on a loomis [light weight rod] and the stx still felt very heavy the few good things i can say about the stx is it is a very palmable reel and that drag is awesome
  18. i had the curado 100d and the stx and i thought the curado was way nicer
  19. that fish looks all head tiny body and i dont think its 9 id say closer to 5 but what can u tell bye a flash and low quality camera im not knocking u i would like to be catching bass like that
  20. i have 2mgs had a curado which also a great reel i dont think the curado holds much more line then the mg maybe what 20 yards that is a really good price for the mg and st croix and should make a pretty light combo
  21. arruis xl rod is my spinnerbait and crank rod 6'8" interchangeable handle extensions u can take out or add to the lenght u want they run about 150
  22. panther martin are awesome but my new favoroite is the new termanator 1s they have at wally world
  23. speed clips here 2 i have lost a few lures from them coming off the clip but for the most part they kick butt if ur like me and change baits alot
