  1. i have been useing the 7" motor oil color worms, i have cought a few bass on them and had a pickerel slice the hole thing off
  2. my uncle used to have a bass tracker a 1988 what he did which i dought u can get away with amymore is he had 2 9.9's on the back
  3. well that sucks royally some lakes in NJ they make u take the prop off before u launch. im almost pondering after i sell my car taking the rest making a down payment and buying a brand new bass tracker pro team 175 with the 9.9 fourstroke. i looked at the fiberglass boats and they seem to be around 300lbs heavier on a comparable size boat. im not sure what im gonna do but im almost sure d get a 9.9 sor the boat and ill 95% get a tracker so god forbid i bump a rock or sumthin being new to a big boat i wont break my new fiberglass boat just geta dent
  4. oh i thought it might have been the other way around i guess fiberglass it heavy then huh
  5. i didnt mean use the outboard all day while fishing but when i go to a bigger lake and wanna jump to diffrent spots i dont wanna look in the back and say d**n i wish i could use my 150hp on here then look forward and take 30 mins the cross a lake with a trolling motor ya know. i was just wondering if a 10hp will move faster or slower on a fiberglass bass boat of the same length as a bass tracker. my uncle had a tracker with a 9.9 merc and from what i remember it moved enough
  6. why doesnt it make sense when most of the lakes i will be fishing limit me and i cant use a big motor anyway. wouldnt a 10hp on a bass tracker be better than a trolling motor the whole day. what is a TM and a kicker im new to the bass boats and stuff so i dont know all the terms
  7. so is thr larger motor offset so they are even or is the big one centered and the 9.9 on the side. see i dont think ill have the money for 2 motors so id probably buy a 9.9 and sell the larger motor. figure theres only like 3 or 4 lakes in nj that are unlimited and i probably wont fish them much anyway.
  8. well would it push a fiberglass bass boat faster than a bass tracker. it sucks nj has so maky lakes with a limit like that and they are not small lakes so without gass itll be killer
  9. ok in NJ porbably like 60% of gas allowed lakes have a 10hp limit. now when i buy a bass boat im sureill porbably wind up gettin a 40-150hp motor ddepending on the boat. i know my buddys tracker goes about 25-30 with his 40hp. now lets say i was to get a ranger/nitro style fiberglass boat how would a 10hp push that? slower or faster than a tracker with a 10hp.
  10. yeah ive been thinking about hitting up assunpink myself. almost did this weekend but i did swartswood and cranberry instead, btw we didnt catch a d**n thing, this cold fron that came in and cooled us off i think killed the fishing along with that crazy rain thursday.
  11. Hey im not to far off either im in woodbridge NJ, im actually goin to swartswood tomaro. id like to know if theres any clubs in NJ also.
  12. when i was younger my father cought a baby bass with his hand about 2.5 long. well he got it home and we set up a huge tank for it. well we had that bass in our tank for about 2-3 years. it was alot of maintence to keep the water good for him but he lived and got to be about 2.5lbs then we took him and let him go in a small local pond. that pond never had bass and now when u go there u can kill em on the right secret lures we also let other bass go there not just 1. anyway we did it again with a small bass i cought when i was about 13 and we kept him for a while and let him go also. its alot of fun watching a largemouth in a big fish tank creep around the fake plants slowly then all of a sudden pounce on a little minnor or guppy whatever we were feeding it at the time.
  13. I have a 1978 12" aluminum flat bottom john boat. made a little deck on the front seat for a foot control trolling motor and have 2 nice ebbitide leather seats on it. its tiny and it sucks but it gets me on the water till i can get myself a nice bass boat
  14. ok i currently have a 12' john boat with 2 seats mounted and i recently installed a bow trolling motor. well this thing is rediculously to small especially for a big guy like me 6'1" im all cramped so its time for a nice bass boat. what do you guys think would be a good starter bass boat that would be good to last me for some years to come. i have been thinking a nice used 17' bass tracker. although i love the nitro/ranger style fiberglass boats to. im basically lookin to spend around 3-4k on a decent used setup. so what do u think would be a good boat to get. what boats are known for being the most stable i hate the feeling of im gonna tip the boat when i stand up lol. i also seen a nice 1999 NITRO 640lx i was liking except the front deck seemed knda small compared to a tracker. I DO NOT like deep-v style boats. im surethey are probably the most stable but i have this thing against them.
