  1. Hard Body Frogs tend to be expansive at Cabela's, Dicks. BPS. They can range from the 5-11 dollar range and are a bit over priced. I would recommed looking in the sale bins at these stores because they often have 1-3 $ frogs that work just fine. For the best frog I have used is the Horney Toad (white color). It is a soft frog and I find it very effective. I would try soft plastic frog and you should find them cheaper and effective.
  2. Hello, during the last week of March I will be travling to Japan to see some family. I have family living throughout Japan and will be in the major cities and landmarks. I was doing some reaseach about Japanese bass fishinig and how competivie it is in Japan. I see that Lake Biwa seems to be the the best lake holding the shared world record for largemouth bass at 22.5 lbs. Also which of Japan'ś lakes are the best to catch a big bass. Another question isif you know of any guide services you would recommend that speak English. Another thing in Japan is the all of the fishing tackle that the ship to the USA. What gear you guys would recommend from Japan. If you guys know of any tackle shops in Japan that would carry any rare/interesting tackle it would be nice to know. If any of you guys/ladys have any advice or information it would be greatly appericated. Or if any brands you guys know of that orginate in Japan.
  3. I have familyt up on Oahu and they bass fish often. Lake Wilson is in the middle of Oahu but it is drive from Honolulu. And is a man made lake filled with freshwater fish. Peacook Bass are found there and so are largemouth. There is also lots of Bream and for little kids it is great. But at the moment Lake Wilson is having water control problems. There is pollution issues and the water levels are incosistent. But in the Spring/Summer the water should be good to fish. Also the Lake is big enough for boats and you can rent a boat or go with a guide. The best time to catch the Peacooks is in the fall because the most humdity occurs and Peacooks are caught more. I have been to Lake Wislon and the bass seem to hit the same baits as the mainland. It is basically bass fishing anywhere just with the beauty of Hawaii in the background. The pollution is a problem but if you ever vist Hawaii check out Lake Wilson. Mahalo
