Favorite economical bait from last year
It was a frog in a Dicks Sale Bin and it cost $1.50. Last year it absoulty tore it up for me and got so many hits the body of the frog ripped up. I'm not sure the company and would love to buy it again.

St Croix vs Cabela's Tournament ZX
I have both St. Croix and a Cabelas tournment rod. I find the Cabelas rod to work the same as the St. Croix. St. Croix Rage is a fine rod same with Cabelas tournment and personally I would choose Cabelas. I have had great success with Cabelas brand because it is cheaper and performance just as good.

one color of plastic
Green Pumpkin no matter the size from 4inch-10inch every size works. Doesn't matter if its the spawn or fall Green Pumpkin always delivers.

Other Species Latest Catch Pics Thread
Caught this Southern Flounder in January. Used a baitcaster and the salt ruined it. It was 4lbs and cooked it up for dinner

pressured pond
If your pond gets lots of pressure the little differences can be the result of fish or no fish. Try to use the baits that you once catched bass on and the change color. By changing the color the bass may believe it is a new species to strike. A little color difference will defintly suprise the bass and can trigger strikes. I had that same situation on my pond and I put on a Meeps Comet Minnow and it immeditaly worked. Try baits that you would never think to use and they may turn out to catch fish you could not of before. http://www.mepps.com/information/comet-mino/157#description~C3M%20HFT Meeps Commet Minnow is a great bait for ponds

bass pro shops tackle mempihs tn
I don't often shop at Bass Pro, but the one thing I do always get is their 8-10 inch motoroil worms. I'm not sure about their reel/rod selection at Bass Pro but if you want to shop at Cabela's I would recommed Lew's reels. The guys at BPS are pretty knowledgeable and should get you a good rod and reel

have you ever just quit using a bait?
senko/wacky rig fishing. Even though I'm a huge lover of Texas Rig, I cannot stand senkos/wacky rig without a valid reason. Its odd

Fishing in new pond
I have only caught small bass this year in ponds. I would wait a little longer till the spawn starts and you can start to see bedding bass. I have a pond that has a grassy pond, and when I fish worm I always use a Carolina Rig. Once the spawn-postspawn begins you will either catch big bass or your pond might just be a dud.

Best bass fishing lure for this time of year
There is never such thing as the best bait because it is all preference. But if you live in NY and I'm guessing it is cold, finsese fish finesse fish finsese fish! Also slow moving Rattle Trap should work in your area right now.

Overcomplicating things
Not having a lot of money. In some ways I want to be that "guy" with all that gear. Fish are fish and they don't care how much you spend or the "2 inch" difference on the rod. It's not the gear it's the fisher.

Higher end plastics
its your choice with quailty and quainty. Zoom and Yum give you more for your buck, while Rage gives more action and higher quailty
