Isn't the plastic rigged on the hook the same on both the T-rig and Carolina Rig to make them weedless? If so, than the T-rig would not mean weedless would it?

I keep seeing that list members are T-rigging worms and creatures unweighted. I thought a T-rig was with a weight pegged in front of, or screwed into the plastic. When you use the term unweighted T-rig does that simply mean you just leave the weight off and rig the worm/creatue with an offset hook? :-/

Welcome to the list. I joined two years ago with the same background, 35 years fly fishing, spinning when I was with family, and no casting. In two years the bait monkey has walked me by the hand to a bass boat, 11 rods & reels, and gear bags full of baits and fishing accessories. I think this tournament style bass fishing is much more of a drain on cash resources than fly fishing, and it was expensive. Of course, I don't have to listen to the bait monkey. SURE!

Which keel weighted hooks do you use? I ordered some Gamakatsu Weighted Superline EWG Hooks in 1/16 and 1/8 oz. I didn't see any other weights.

Welcome! If you go to Bass Pro Shops website and search spinnerbait blades you will find 14 items. Doing the same at Cabela's will get you 48. So, there's lots to select from. Good luck.

I just looked at the article again and see that he used a green pumpkin Rage Craw trailer on the Strike King 3/4-ounce football jig. Way to go!

Big-O was it your Anaconda worm that KVD used at the Bluegrass Brawl on Kentucky Lake last month? In the August 2008 issue of Bass Times, in the article "VanDam runs the table" it states "He also relied on Strike King's 3/4-ounce football jig ... and a new 10 inch Anaconda worm (green pumpkin) that he worked down the ledges."

Thanks I am on my third retirement I was called to go on a job the beginning of July, but my will to fish was more powerful than my lust for $$$$ I'm looking forward to reaching that point. Although, the main reason I went back to work is because I was given the opportunity to run a small business (1M budget) that I love. Of course the $$$ for more fishing toys, and the fact that my wife can't retire for 3 1/2 years also weighed on the decision. One negative to marrying a younger woman.

Welcome! I hope you do better with your retirement than I did. I flunked and went back to work in 2004. Will try it again in 2010 or 2011. Maybe sooner. There are so many fish out there to catch.

I agree with Eddie Munster and NitroMan, and I justify it for the reasons giver by LBH Anything short of a world record, it's ALL catch & release and has been for close to 40 years.

Contact your City or County Parks Department about putting on a fishing class where you charge a fee. They are usually looking for people like you who are willing to put on an event. They provide the insurance and local advertising. They may limit the fee you charge. You put the class and materials together. It's a good deal for all. Go for it! Good luck!
