Yep that was us, cept we were in my Bass Tracker. You refering to Burley and I knowing each other, or Burley and fivebasslimit knowing each other. Burley and I live in the same town about 4 miles apart and are good friends he is the one that introduced me to BR. We both met fbl on here, I have not met fbl in person yet.

So I guess we should all expect some killer deals on some used fishing equipment. All my best to you and yours that one is definitely a keeper.

Shoot y'all should have been on the water with Burley and I last year when the tm battery went dead and we were trying to break through ice to get back to the launch, that was just super fun. BTW it is an electric only lake and we finally decided to heck with it after about an hour and a trip to wal-mart to buy a dead battery and got the motor cranked and plowed through the ice and home.

I'm gonna go with around 3.5 as well, this fish doesn't have much girth at all.

Welcome. I fished Cave Run once with my F-I-L and didn't do much good but we were there in the heat of summer and never got to the main lake and was up in the river all day. Been wanting to hit that place again, my in-laws live in Jackson about an hour away.

That's alright, Alan showed me a secret spot on Douglas that I didn't see anyone else on all night down there but it had fish on it, we just couldn't get them to bite. Almost guarantee if I had use what you did we would have both limited.

Don't worry I will find that secret spot, I have an idea of the general locationa and besides the lake ain't that big. Thanks again for the heads up to go to the dam, wish I had gone back down there for the last couple of hours.

I have more respect for Alan than just about anyone in the club. If he had more time to fish, I don't think anyone would beat him. Agreed. They were on a very slow pattern for us as well. And their must be something about that grape firetail worm he was fishing and gave me, he has 3 cases of them.

Exactly. I was reading somewhere a few weeks ago about plastic worms, bass never see a nightcrawler naturally in the water, especially a purple one with a yellow tail but how many of them have caught fish. My partner saturday night has 3 cases of them he bought before mister Twister stopped making them, said he had to buy 50,000 of them originally to get'em so he did sold most of them till he got down to his last 3 boxes.

The one that made the sound of a cinder block being dropped from a plane was a beaver or otter one, they slap the water with their tale and it sounds like a cannon going off. Had one swim up to within 4 feet of me wading the river once and had to warn my B-I-L of it coming toward him so he could make a move to scare it off. It came up about 50 yards downstream again and slapped the water, wouldn't believe how loud it was if I hadn't heard it myself.

You just got lucky and tried something when nothing else was working, but I do believe it is better to be lucky than good. Even at that it was way better than the one 1.5 lb keeper I had, and I was fishing with one of the guys that has won the most in the club (you should see all the trophies and plaques hanging on the wall in his gargage) and we couldn't get on'em, at least we did move around and not set in one unproductive river arm all night this time. I do believe the spots we were fishing would have been extremely good if the lake wasn't so low, he showed me a few place 8-)s on the graph that most people don't know about.

I don't have a problem sleeping in the yard, big question how is he gonna get all of us on the boat. You didn't really have to start a new thread, you could have checked one of your old posts when you change your avatar it even changes it on old posts, just a little FYI.

As much fishing as you've been doing lately and what you told me the other day it probably would not be a good idea to take off on her agian.
