Think "baitfish" color and you will be doing well. Shad and bluegill are my favorites currently, white has produced nicely too. The baby bass (both smallmouth and largemouth) are getting crushed right now too.

It has amino acids from fish in it. Big fish eat little fish. It will work for species other than bass.

The only problem with that plan is the Bass Harasser will not sit upright on the bottom, it will fall over on its side. That's only if the harness doesnt tear out on the cast. ;D

You'll be fine. I will only go to about 1/2" from the hook though. Dont know the explanation, but I have taken a stick bait with a hook in it, dunked the whole thing and had the bait split in half where the hook enters. A stick bait splitting is one thing, a $20 lure is another. I wouldnt chance dipping the whole bait...

Unfortunately, I dont think the fish's health had anything to do with it. I believe it was just "kept." Got out last night and finally got my first confirmed hookup with a Potomac toothy. That lasted all of about .2 seconds, mostly due to me standing in awe of the silver streak demolishing my spinnerbait and my subsequent limp-wristed hookset. : There was another casualty last night, but was not caused by a fisherman. I witnessed a vicious attack by a very big musky on a 28" smaller fish. I hand fished the injured toothy and it looked like the pics you see of shark attack victims. Perfect mouth outline of the larger fish. I tried to revive the fish for 45 minutes, to no avail. The guy I was fishing with took it home to eat. I think I could really get into this...

Cancelled last evening, meeting tonight at 8pm. Saw pics of a 45" caught from there the other night. Fish did not make it, unfortunately.

Ammo will be the cause of 99% of your problems with semi 22's. Bulk pack ammo, while nice and cheap, is sometimes just that. Cheap. You will get batches of under-powered 22 rounds in the bulk packs. That is the trade-off with the rounds costing a bit more money (Remington 525 pack vs CCI 50 pack). Swab the barrel every 100-200 rounds and clean it well at the end of the day. Most, if not all, of the guns mentioned in this thread will perform well for you. Personally, I like Burley's suggestion. Gives you more options for when you want to shoot with the big boys.

Any thoughts on this lake? A buddy of mine apparently just drove by it and said it looked like it had potential. In a brief research on the lake, MD DNR claims that 10lb fish have come out of it. What do you guys think?

I will be hitting the Potomac again on Tuesday evening. Got a new toy that is just dieing to get in the water...Yes Sean, another one of those.

Mapquest puts me a little under 1.5 hours away, 75 miles. That is a hop, skip and jump compared to some of the lakes I have traveled to. I have heard good things about Little Seneca. It is now on the list.
