  1. The guy is Bill Egan and he runs SBI (Swimbaits, Inc.) as well. His company makes some very realistic wraps for swimbaits. This was his first tournament as TD. Nothing like trial by fire to see if you can hack it. From what I have read, he has received nothing but praise for how the situation was handled. I also read where Hart's long time friend and fishing partner has come out to say that this never happened when they fished as a team. It would really, really suck to be him right now too. He has not been implicated in any of this, but I am sure he will also be under a microscope should he fish with anyone else or a singles T.
  2. Yep. I even emailed Bobby U and asked if he had some in his shop. Negative.
  3. Craw was a special run product for Yamamoto. Unless you find it at some obscure retailer, you will only find the original. The tubes were different and you would be able to tell the difference.
  4. I grew up in Duncansville and graduated from Hollidaysburg in '97. The one by Noel's is the area I was thinking of. I have never fished that area in a boat, but when I would go to the range I would drool over all those pads.
  5. Long Pine reminds you of a California lake. Deep, clear, spooky fish. Visibility of 20+ feet is the norm and fish are MIA this time of year. Not my recommendation.
  6. Susky might be too swift for us electric guys I think boatnic mapped Redman and Williams both... I know he just did Walker too, but that would be a hike for you guys. Got an address on Walker? At some point this summer, I plan on dragging the boat up to Canoe Lake (another lake I grew up fishing). I know that is close to a couple of you guys... Shawnee is a "maybe" as well. I have heard differing reports of water quality and fishing info. There are a couple lakes around me but they are small as well.
  7. You can cross Laurel Lake off the list. Small, shallow and water is probably about 90 degrees in this heat. I have had my boat on it before, but one good turn on the TM and you are across the other side.
  8. If that is the case, we definitely have to hit up a lake that he has mapped.
  9. You would need a "special" lake, eh? :-* Get the net. :-X
  10. Weekends are usually fine for me, depending on my schedule for the P/T job. I am not opposed to travel if the lake is special.
  11. I have fished Pinchot and it is not the easiest lake in the world to fish. Massive, massive amounts of shad make it tough to entice a bite this time of year. Weeds make it rough as well. Never fished Redman. Lake Williams is also right there near it.
  12. You do realize that it was likely the crankbait rod you handled? Crankbait rods are designed that way. I have fished with the 8' Flippin' Stick and trust me, "wet noodle" is not the description I would give.
  13. Not a big deal, man. Nothing personal. Hang around for a while and get to know some folks. Not too bad in here. I will caution you. There is a fella named Burley that is mean to everyone. Don't pay attention to him at all.
  14. Will Hesch is the guy behind Mend-It currently. He is also the guy behind Cool Foot (for your trolling motor) and the Bac-Rac (for co-anglers to carry rods on a boat). All great products and a good guy to deal with. I bought some swimbaits off him a while back. On a side note: I believe Matt Servant (Mattlures) came up with the original Mend-It. There is your trivia for the day, folks.
  15. I'd be down for that. I have a boat, but it is set up for the electric only lakes so no big stuff for me.
  16. Honestly, if you dont have the materials to do it already, it would likely be cheaper for you to just buy a dressed treble hook from a retailer or online store. http://www.***.com/Mustad_Feathered_Treble_Hook_Red_Hook/descpage-MDTR.html http://www.***.com/Lucky_Craft_Feathered_Treble_Hooks/descpage-LCFTH.html http://www.***.com/Owner_Tournament_Trailer_Feathered_Trebles/descpage-OTTFT.html
  17. Steve, what was the reasoning behind using Elaztech in these baits? Are there any plans to make the "traditional" RT products using the Elaztech?
  18. This and a shaky head are my best techniques for numbers.
  19. Thanks for the selection! SPEEDBEAD: ouch. BTW, I have found something better than musky fishing.... Que?
  20. Custom Loomis BB 965 Muit mouse 3:16 Freestyle shad Trijicon Tri Power In the works: Nikon Omega for the muzzleloader
  21. I grew up fishing Glendale from the bank. It's been a while since I have fished it. Two things: 1. Have you seen any muskies come out of there? 2. Have you ever fished the area on the back side of the lake with all the pads (near where the shooting range is)?
  22. Pinnacle, BadKarma42 lives in Pennsylvania, not Virginia. I should know, he has been netting my fish for the last 5 years. ;D Congrats to the winners.
  23. Not knowing your budget, I would suggest the Benelli M4 at the top end of the home defense category. Sticking around where you are at now price-wise, I agree with the Mossberg or the Remington 870 with a folding stock. The stocks are cheap and easy to replace. The other nice thing is that if you buy the standard shotgun and replace it with a home defense style stock, you can always put the original stock back on and hunt with it (if you choose). Buckshot should not hurt the rifled barrel, but I dont know that I would put hundreds of rounds through it and not expect some filling and grinding on the rifling. If you expect to shoot shotshells mostly, I would likely go with the smooth bore as that is what they are designed for. Home protection shotguns are perfect (to me) due to one overall characteristic - they are less likely to penetrate adjacent walls and hit unintended targets in the event that you miss your subject. Buckshot will penetrate a whole lot less than a slug. Your children and pets will thank you.
