i know its your money but i would recommend any shimano reel u could afford as for rod g loomis would be my pic imx or glx but check out e bay u should find them from 50 to 100 bucks cheaper ;D

my uncle use the sahara very happy with it great for his needs and does everything well.my cuz has a sedona another good reel and my bro uses a symetre and i use a stradic we all fish together never once did any of these reels fail us, cant go wrong with a shimano

get yourself shimano calais reel and a g loomis glx(jig&worm) and youll have a big ;D

whats a good jig to use around rock oh yea and has a rattle with it and stands up at a good angle , im tired of losin so amy jigs > , now i know its not possible to get hung up but im sure some r better then others

smallmouth fight better then largemouth but till u catch a hybrid striper u dont know what a fight is
