a friend of mine has caught two 5+'s on these, plus several 2 pounders. he was just using a steady retrieve and the bass were slammin em'.
  3. cold, muddy water is tough, especially this time of year. if i were you i would try somewhere else, somewhere with some BIG bass potential, or just somewhere else that doesnt have cold, muddy water.but, if you absolutely HAD or REALLY, really wanted to fish this area i would throw fairly large(but not too large, since this is a creek) suspending jerkbaits in fairly bright colors. or maybe SLOWWWWW rolling a big colorado bladed spinnerbait. ;)you could also try a jig with a large profile fished very slow, and makee sure that jig hass rattles.
  4. I'll second that! it really is addictive ;D
  5. yes everyone, the fish is tagged. my dad used to tag almost every fish he caughtfrom late 1996 to 1999, and in 1997 this fish was caught, tagged, and released. that day in 1997, the fish weighed 6 pounds. so this means this fish is VERY old, because remember, these are northern strain largies where i live, and remember how long it takes for a n. strain largie to grow to 6 pounds. so me and my dad did the math, and the fish has to be AT LEAST 11-13 years old :oand its obvious by the the head size and "shoulders" on this fish, that one time in its peak the fish had to have weighed 8 3/4 to 9 1/2 pounds, because this pond has produced MANY 8+ pounders. Happy New Years' everyone! Triton9
  6. caught these two pigs in the pond behind my house today, both on LC Pointers. this fish weighed 7-11 heres the 5-4 you just can't beat cold weather jerkbait'n

  11. man, that thing is fat. nice job
  12. LC by a long shot! ;)alot of jackall's stuff is impractical. and i have a few of their cranks and i have not caught a single bass on them, and i have used them alot. i almost always catch bass on my LC cranks, and anything else LC as a matter of fact. But i will give jackall props on some of their soft palstics.
  13. i love their bronzeye frogs, best topwater frog ever in my opinion. havent used much of their other stuff though.

  23. hey guys, heres how i did in that tourny i was talkin about on here the other day.(i'll make it short and to the point)well the launch was delayed for about an hour due to the worst fog i've ever seen in my life.so when the fog BARELY cleared, we all launched and we were off to our first spot. we pulled up in the creek and within 20 mins., we had caught keeper #1 and a nonkeeper, both on cranks. 5 mins. after that i catch our second keeper and then a nonkeeper on a dropshot.after the catch of another nonkeeper we left that creek and went uplake to another, where we didnt even get a bite, then we left there and went into the north anna.when in the north anna,we fished rocky points with cranks and jerkbaits, jigs too, but they did not yield a bite.i caught a nonkeeper and a keeper on a crank while fishing the points and my dad did the same. then we started to head out of the north anna, but on the way out we fished the bridges and i caught two nonkeepers and our fifth keeper(and also a NICEEE crappie) off of the pilings on a dropshot.we then went to another bridge and my dad caught our sixth keeper which culled our smallest. then i caught another keeper on a crankbait that culled too. after that we only caught nonkeepers.when we weighed in we had nine pounds and ended up in seventh or so out of teams. the winner had 18 pounds, and second had fifteen. big fish was six pounds and some.the pics of our four best are below(i couldnt hold all five ;D)
  24. i use BPS's version of the senko, they work pretty well for me, and they dont have the scent problem either.
