  1. I have 10 of these rods. Excellent rod for the money. I think you will be very pleased with your purchase.
  2. What did your other 2 come on?
  3. I used to throw a spinnerbait all the time. Then I got into throwing jerkbaits and senkos, which I then did all the time. This year I seem to be throwing crankbaits and jigs. I don't know what it is, but I fish a lure soooo much that I feel the challenge of catching a fish with it consistently has passed and I move on to another lure I suck at.
  4. Yo-Zuri Rattl'N'Vibe. Great Lure.
  5. Here is a simple solution. Buy a Abu Garcia Revo Skeet Reese, or Toro, or Winch, or STX, or SX and you get a pair of Wiley X sunglasses for only shipping cost ($6.95). Therefore, you can say you only spent $6.95 on a pair of polarized sunglasses and end up with a bad @$$ reel as well.
  6. Tiki Sticks are probably the only stick worms I use. They are very durable and come in a lot of various colors (though, I only seem to use Watermelon with Black Flake). You were also asking about fall rate. I was curious about the same thing, so I took a Tiki Stick along with 6 other stick worms (including original Senko) and dropped them in the pool at the same time. The Tiki Stick took the longest to sink to the bottom. I like having a slow sink rate, because I can always add a thicker gauge hook or some lead to make it fall faster if I want, but I am not sure there is an easy way to make a stick worm fall slower.
  7. ^ Doesn't understand why people think he has a fascination with fish poop (though, he is the only guy I know that photographed such an event). PS What did you end up naming that fish?
  8. They must not have liked this getting out. They do not offer the discount anymore to this login.
  9. I use a 7' MH-Fast rod for frogs and toads. I use a 6'9" MH-Mod. Fast for spooks, poppers, etc., which are treble-hook, open-water type lures. I like a moderate fast action for all treble hook lures (including crankbaits, jerkbaits, etc).
  10. I am interested in upgrading my spinning rod. I have narrowed it down to these two. I would use this rod mainly for shaky heads, skipping lures around docks, flukes, and other finesse techniques. I've tried my buddies SJR843-IMX, but the tip of the rod seemed a little too stiff for what I want to use it for and the length made a little tougher for accuracy purposes. My only concern with the two rods I listed is if they would have enough power to pull fish away from docks. Therefore, if you happen to have either one of these rods, and if you wouldn't mind, please let me know what you use it for and your overall impression of its performance. Thanks in advance.
  11. A high number of my fish (maybe 75%) last year came on a 5" Tiki Stick or a Lucky Craft Pointer 100SP.
  12. the DT 10 and the DT 8 are my all time fav. bait. i just dont want to buy them 8 times. Where did you get a DT8? For those that have a DT20, how much would you say they weight? TackleTour must have a misprint in their ICAST review of the DT20, because they have it listed as weighing 3.25 oz. I can't imagine it would weight anywhere near that. If so, I will have to use a swimbait rod for deep cranking a DT20 (if I ever can find a DT20 to buy). Thanks.
  13. What happened to "Sir Poops-a-Lot" (I forget who sugested it, but that one was good)
  14. I use a G Loomis Mossyback BCR874 (their Carolina Rod). They do have a GLX version of this rod (which I steered away from, because I like to use braid for Carolina Rigging and braid & ReCoil guides don't get along). Overall, I am very pleased with this rod.
  15. As soon as I get a rod, I remove the plastic and the wrap the handle with Rod Wrap.
  16. Jerkbaits: G Loomis Bronzeback SMR814C-CB (Med-Hvy Power & Mod-Fast Action, Lure Rating: 3/8 oz. to 1 oz.) & Abu Garcia Revo RC (7.0:1) Shallow to Medium Running Crankbaits & Lipless Crankbaits: G Loomis GLX CBR855C (Med-Hvy Power & Mod-Fast Action, Lure Rating: 3/8 oz. to 1 oz.) & Daiwa Sol (5.4:1) Deep Diving Crankbaits: G Loomis SWBR953C (Not Yet Used) (Med-Light Power & Mod-Fast Action, Lure Rating: 1/2 oz. to 2 oz.) & Abu Garcia Revo Winch (5.4:1) I have XPS Flourocarbon 12 lb. Line on all three set-ups.
  17. TW Customer Service is one of the best. I made an order, which included KVD Line Conditioner, among other items. My package arrived soggy, because the bottle of KVD had leaked everywhere. I called TW up and the gentleman apologized profusely and was willing to replace not only the KVD Bottle, but everything in my order. I told him that was not necessary, because I could wipe off everything else, but just for him to offer impressed me. Great company!
  18. ^ May have a strange man-love for Muddy.
  19. ^ Takes cheap shots at a man who sells quality lures who for some reason hates the Steelers.
  20. ^ Had a glowing blue Pumpkinseed for dinner.
  21. ^ Apparently has no life beside fishing (Unfortunately, that could describe me as well)
  22. I have the Sol on My CBR855 GLX (which has the same action as your CB845) and it is a match made in Heaven. It is perfect for Rattle Traps and Crankbaits. It may not handle the Deep Divers, but my rod is more of a limitaion for those lures than the Sol would be. At $128, I would keep the reel and consider yourself very lucky for finding such a great deal.
