Well has anyone tried them? I have a blizzard outside

New plastic bait ?./ Frog hooks ?
A few years ago I used ribbits half the time I was fishing. I had friends who only used ribbits and I'm in CT where you wouldn't consider frog central. The key is to cast it on the bank or an inch off. Almost all of the ribbit fish we catch are right up on a bank or piece of cover, tree, laydown. Almost never catch em in open water. I use a twist lock owner or Gama hook sometimes if I feel the fright is spinning too much then I'll use a weighted hook and make sure I start to reel in before it even hits the water so it won't sink.

New swimbait
Ya maybe they didn't think this alien lure through all the way. Both are valid worries. Also I'm sorry to the company I'm not trying to be bashing it, giving it exposure and I might even buy one. Yalls had to know people would talk about it and make jokes. I have no intention of being negitive on a company or brand.

New swimbait
Theit jig has cute double spring locks as a weed guard? Definitely out of the box thinking but might just be a gimmick.

New swimbait
Tha heck is dis? Longest baits PDL rig I don't know if it would replace the keitech at 15$ Doesn't list length??

Let's talk punch skirts
I was just about to get them but didn't know which brand. I see eco pro tungsten, gambler quick change, and dirty jigs sells them. Can anyone comment on durability and preference. The "quick change" ones seem easy to use and change colors as long as they stay on right but the dirty jigs offer an insane amount of detailed colors. I've never used them but wish to this upcoming season.

Abu winch only a crank reel?
Sorry for the long questions but i have faith in yalls knowledge and respect this community. So I just got a brand new abu garcia orra winch on sale. I wanted a low speed reel to round out my arsenal I'm building this spring. Now this is my first year using baitcasters and I plan on using them 95% of the time to help me learn. So far I love using a baitcaster. Now I just realized this reel is designed for deep cranking. I never use a crank. Maybe square bills and jerk baits in spring but by early May there is too much weed growth. I want to use this reel for a specialized use and I trust you guys. Now that being said I throw a lot of small swimbaits or paddle tails. Mostly kietechs and occasional bladed jigs. Will this low speed reel work well for slow rolling swimbaits? I recently got a bunch of glide baits and smaller end swimbaits such as the ganteral jr, savage gear glide, S-waver, line thru trout and I'm wondering if I can dedicate the reel towards these smaller swimbaits. Does winch mean more power or am I an idiot. I also have a tatula HD I was thinking of making the "swimbait" reel but was considering it for frogs. Sorry if this is too many questions but I appreciate any response and thanks again TL DR I've only ever used (all purpose) spinning gear, what should I use this ABU Winch for if I'm not going throw cranks.

Ice out lures
Flat rap, xrap, and I really want to practice jigs and swimbaits I also tend to throw non-weedless lures I can't get away with most places when the weeds grow in soon enough

Blue crawfish?
In CT and MA all I ever see is brown and dark blue craws. Sure they don't have the "brilliant" "sapphire" flashy blue as a okeechobee strike king craw but sometimes they only get a glimpse of the bottom in muddy water. I also don't think color is of too much importance. In fact if you have the color (orange and brown) of local craws but it's not perfect or slightly off might be a good thing Your lure might look like a injured or sick and dying craw being a shade off. This might send a message to the bass it's dying so it's an easy meal they don't have to chase or fight. Like I said most around here are brown and blue belly or all dark blue.

Mud hole with huge bass (NOT CARP) and shad but no bites
Livetarget sunfish or mouse. Chatter bait so they can locate in such muddy water. I also over the Stanley ribbit frogs.

Durable Rods
I was looking at the IROD genisis which are 150 for the swimbait and frog rods. Also looking at dobyns fury or the abu garcias mentioned above. Thanks for the help and suggestions. I have heard great things about St Croix and their warranty program too I remember now. Appreciate the responses to a very vague question.

Durable Rods
I am new to baitcasters and need to get a bunch of rods to force myself to stop using spinning setups. Now I can admit I beat on my gear and am looking to even sacrifice a little bit of performance and sensitivity for durability. I was hoping with some of you guys with a bunch of experience with different brands if you have noticed any tough as nails blanks. Currently looking for a frog rod and a light swimbait rod ( 1-4oz ) both around $150 each give or take. I currently have no favorite brands when it comes to reels or rods just lures. Last year I threw kietech, structure rage bugs, and every kind of top water. This year I want to learn how to throw jigs, swim baits and glide baits. Basically I want to know if it's worth it to get a 200$ rod with it breaking if there's a 120$ that's tough as nails and will help me learn. Maybe the best option is just to find a rod with a good warranty. Thanks for any help lots of trust and respect to you guys Edit looking for 150-200$ a peice but have no problem paying 100$ for a durable Rod that works just as well

Scents or markers on stinky lures
So I tried it out and I kinda like it. Didn't fully mask the scent but it neutralized it somewhat. The markers only last a day or so, but it's still an option along. I always see people talk about megastrike like it's gold so I'm definitely going to grab a tube, if only to use on foul smelling or unscented lures.

Scents or markers on stinky lures
I've never used any scents and was thinking of using megastrike. Not on all lures. Some already smell "great" to fish such as my keitech and rage bugs and craws but I'd consider buying it just to mask the bad smelling ones. It also comes down to maybe not dwelling on a silly thing and just get to learning each lure specifically. Like I hear most people say they get bit hard and fast. It's not like a drop shot or Shaky head lure where a bass might come up and smell it. These swimbaits are moving and get hit hard right? Again first time really throwing these lures in CT and MA. Thanks for the responses

Scents or markers on stinky lures
This might seem weird issue and maybe it's not even a thing. I've noticed some lures have a robust rubber smell to them. I just got some huddleston and mattlures swimbaits and I noticed they smell really bad. Like rubber fumes. It's not just me I've heard in reviews and videos other people complain. Now I wonder since these bass hit these lures so hard if the smell even matters. I decided to take a spike it marker to some of them to add color to the fins and somewhat mask the scent. Do any of you guys use scents or "marinade" these rubbery smelling lures? Some companies brag about how they have a secret scent formula that's ultra effective and make a big deal about it. I've personally never used scents but now I might try. Edit: Mods please delete wrong thread, should be in tackle

Frog Hooks
I like screw lock 3/0-4/0EWG hooks for my ribbit frogs so the nose doesn't tear. Leap order tree frog with the hot feet is fire. Owner and Gamagatsu are both good. I've even used the Burkley fusion hooks and they worked. If you use a weighted hook it will always land belly down and not spin you just have to retrieve as soon as it lands in the water. I've always wondered if a flipping hook would be nice for a ribbit.

Livetarget swimbaits
I got a perch 4". Looks fantastic!! Wondering if the 5" kicks better than the 4" in the para trout and each models. Wish they made a bluegill and baby bass version of these.

How To Organize Tackle - New Video
Ya I need to overhaul my tackle, definitely a great time of a year to post this. Well made video as always. I also cut off the labels for my terminal tackle box, how the heck will I remember which size hook or weight they are. I think we also have to realize change is a good thing. We can just re label it. Much better than making it "work" and just stuffing the containers to brim with tackle. Great video!

Big TRD
Never used a Ned rig as I almost only fish muddy slime bottoms. I just got a bunch of fattyz. My question is has anyone ever cut an inch or 2 off the top of a fattyz and used it as a Ned rig with a slight different wiggle? I'd rather try a big TRD over the regular size but might try this first.

My absolute most fun lure to fish is........
Livetarget mouse. Sometimes I picture the mouse fleeing away and the bass yelling " this is my ecosystem get out of here and into mah belly!!!"

New Trapper tackle hooks
Ya I get the same feeling of a gimmick and while it might keep the lure in place it also might tear it easier when it gets pushed through the 90° turn a hookset. But it did win icast2016 best terminal tackle foe what ever that's worth and on the video on TW it shows it catching big peacock bass and snook. It's also hard to test now as I'm in CT so if any of you southern guys get to try it let us know.

New Trapper tackle hooks
Anyone use these new trapper tackle hooks. They seem like they could be a game changer but look very odd. I hate to readjust my stanley ribbit frog, fluke, or keitech swimbait. When you catch a few fish the hook usually tears the plastic and makes a channel that the hook will then slide down and be up off the back of the lure. Instead of laying flat on the lures back weedless, maybe a lil tex posed the hook is up and looks like a open hook jig that will get snagged on the very weedy places I fish. This hook design looks promising as it will keep the lure pinned and the hook flush with the plastic. Maybe I'm over thinking it and maybe the two 90° turns in the hook bend will end up tearing the plastic more. But i feel like it's worth some testing. Also the company seems to say it will keep the fish pinned a lot better than a normal hook and almost eliminates loss of fish after hook set. Also if this came in a twist lock, belly weighted version I feel like it would be awesome for swimbaits. Anyone care to share a review, hopefully this isn't some weird gimmick.

Platypus Sinking Braid
I too would like to see if anyone has a review. I almost always direct tie to the lure but sometimes when using jerk baits the braid hangs up behind or around the jerk bait because it floats. Idk why I'm just too lazy to tie on floro leader.
