Can someone tell me which model is the same size as the 2500 Shimano reels? Also, several have commented that they like this reel better than the Symetre. How does it compare to the Saros or Stradic?

I was just looking for this type of rod and came across the BPS crankin stick. I got three because of the price, but I see they have raised it to $34.88.

Kistler has several price ranges. You need to figure out which one you are comfortable with. Personally, I like the LTA, and I would look at the He70MS.

I am going to get a spinning rig for skipping plastics and tubes under docks. As I was looking around it is pretty hard to ignore some of the combos that BPS has put togther, since I have a 20% off coupon for any one item. (A combo will let me use it on both the rod and reel, plus the built in discount.) It seems as though the nicest one they have uses a BPS ProQualifier rod with the new Stradic reel. I could also save a bunch more if I got the same rod with their PQ reel. I normally use baitcasters, but if I get a nice spinning outfit I will use it for more than skipping docks. Would you get one of these packages, or should I get another Kistler and match it with a reel of my choice?

I just got a new reel and want to put 15lb fluro on it. This is my first reel that has a drilled out spool. Is it ok to thread the line through the holes so that there is not chance of slip, or does that create some other problem?

I guess my question is are the tubes reusable? How many rods (with the reels taken off) can fit in one tube?

How did BPS package that combo? I am flying to Florida and need something to put my rods in. I thought I might order one of those combos and see if I could use the tube they send it in.

I got my first spin cast rod & reel in 1964. Stepped up to a spinning rig in 1968. I actually bought a Shimano LH baitcaster from BPS in 1987, but never used it much. I want to get some new equipment and wanted to know if there was some technical reason to go with RH retrieve.

As a long time user of spinning rods & reels, I have always been curious why those who use baitcasters cast with their dominent hand and and then switch hands to retrieve. Can someone explain?

Does that mean beware of buying a used boat that has not been run much?

Any idea what they will want for that same boat in the spring?

I intend to get a 17' aluminum bass type boat for use next year. For many reasons it would be best if I wait until next spring to buy it, but I know I should be able to get a better deal now. What I don't know is how much better. If I buy new and list price is $12,000, can anyone tell me how much more I would actually pay next spring as opposed to end of season deals now? If I buy used and a fair price for a boat is $6000, what would the difference be? Basically I am trying to figure out the cost of waiting.
