Drained lakes/ponds
alot of our lakes here in nj get drained often.(the smaller ones.) Generally these lakes have channel running through the bottom that drains directly to the mouth of the creek or river that empties it. This low spot usually holds enough water to hold the fish that are smart enough to dive . looks like a dried lake bed with a creek running through it. Unless they drained every inch then i dont know how. i have no idea why the fishing is better though. cleaner happier fish?

rainy day fishin
i dont eat any of the fish in our waters. i read reports that the mercury level and pollutoin are so high you can only eat about one serving a month depending on what body of water you fish.

i think N. pike fins look so cool with their colorations on the fins. Pike are supposed to be larger than pickerel on average, but i keep landing big uns. take a look at the 30" er in my other post "pick me a winner" its crazy to think its as big as your pike.

pick me a winner
Thank you very much sir. I just figured that most bass fisherman dont like pickerel. Waiting for my first, "not another pickerel" comment

pick me a winner
hello fellow anglers. sorry to post another pic of a pick, but this guy was a beast. i nailed him on a double blade spinner about ten feet from shore, and my drag was screaming. the idea that pickerel dont fight good is insane. i had to crank down on the drag as tight as i could manage, and he still ran. when i got this whopper in he was to strong for me to even get a good handle on. so one snap of the cam phone and sent him on his way. this guy is almost a new PB. maybe a tie. 30" long

i actually enjoy pickerel fishing more than bass fishing sometimes. I just really enjoy how the picks strike so hard on the lure. they come shootong in and nail it right in front of you. And as for the fight, it depends on the fish. I have caught sunnies that have put up a better fight than a 3 lb bass. I also like when the pickerel jump out of the water. i guess i am just down to catch anything that will bite.

usually i dont even have them long enough to hold them. they are good at unhooking themselves once landed. otherwise, i grag just like how you see in the pic. man handle them. i tried to lip a 2 pomder once, it worked until he went all crazy and chomped me.

Bamber lake is good fishing , went there for the first timefew weeks ago and my friend nailed a big bass around six pounds. GIANT pickerel too. I wanted to get up into double trouble parks lake back in there but havent had a chance. These guys i caught in one of sand plants that we have out here. Its right off rt. 539 warren grove.
