weirdest thing u'll ever hear

Recommended Posts

I was fishing from shore when I heard this big splash about 30 feet down the bank. All of a sudden I feel this huge weight on the end of my line so I start wheeling in. It felt like a really really big log. Then I can see what looks like a deer coming up from under the water. I almost shot myself when I realized I had a deer on the end of my line. It was a full grown female and It had swallowed my foot long. I also hunt deer so I thought why not so I started beating the ptooey out of this thing till I managed to kill it with by smashing it's head with a rock. I'll tell ya what, it was the tastiest thing I've ever caught.

That sounds like some good eatin'.  In the future, be careful, because I think deer have to be more than 60 inches from nose to tail to be a keeper.  Some states have slot limits and I believe you also must catch them on artificial baits as well.  After the D.A.S.S tournaments at my local lake, there are generally a lot of deer swimming around near the docks after they are released.  After they have been released for a few hours they'll usually bite again.

I was fishing musky so I had 80lbs test superbraid on. I caught it on a foot long crankbait. I had a good laugh over senile 1's story by the way, very creative!

We casught a deer once.  We were casting along a bank with super spooks when the deer decided to swim back to the mainland from the island whose edge we were picking apart.

Erics casted, line in mid flight and the deer got in front of it.  Spook wrapped on his shoulder.

The deer freaked out, swimming for the opposite shore.  we pegged the t/m and got as close as possible and cut the line.

Now,.....Are you saying that a deer, an herbivore,...ATE a crankbait and went fully underwater?

Then I can see what looks like a deer coming up from under the water.

I'm not a hunter but I've dealt with a few deer.  Getting one fully underwater would require quite a fight with lots of thrashing on the deer's part.

I don't know,...I got an tough time with this one.  I'll wait for the pics I guess. I don't think someone would throw somthing so nuts out on a board like this one or have somthing this unrealisticly crazy happen that they wouldn't document it.

Let me guess... this rock turned into your alarm clock and you realized you were beating the crap out of your poor dog, who was sleeping next to your bed.  Im with everyone else on this one, BS!..... But I have managed to catch a pager float fishing a creek for Browns/Steelhead.  Last time out we were casting cranks for bass, when whack my drag tears out for about 15ft and then lets go.  Im thinking I just lost the bass of a life time, until my buddy hooks into about a 15lb salmon, it runs across the top of the water and lets go.  Now  cranking for bass on a 7" med rod and a 15lb salmon slams your crank is something you dont expect at all!

Speaking of salmon, I was fishing for salmon on the Snake River one time.  I hooked into a nice salmon and then suddenly it got really heavy and the water turned into a series of tumultous, thrashing waves.  A grizzly bear had swallowed my salmon.  We landed him and had a big dinner that night.  I did lose a couple of friends getting him into the net.  ::)

I'm one who loves a good BS story provided it's funny.  In fact I have a motto that covers this exact situation. "Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story"

But a tale about using a rock to crush the skull of a doe is not my idea of amusing.
