Tough Conditions, Any Suggestions?
Good night nurse, they were generating hard lol. I find fishing when they have the generators running to be easier down stream quite a ways, and fish where the current is reversing.

How do you tell?
The way to keep the line tight with the worm on the bottom is to use a heavy enough bullet weight, and once the line hits the bottom, SLOWLY pull the rod tip right above your face. Then reeling the line in slowly, you'll see the slack go away. ONCE the slack is out, hold the line down by the reel, and always reel slowly and pull up. Now reading this above, this is hard to explain lol. Onto the biting, you'll feel a 'tap tap' or also your line will move in directions. Also sometimes when they are really finicky, you'll feel like weight on the line, then instantly it will go limp. There was a fish with the worm in it's mouth, and he spit it out.

Worlds Best Lure Exhibit
At our aquarium here in Tulsa/Jenks we supposedly have the worlds best lure/general fishing collection. It consisted of really old reels, rods, lures, primitive hooks, arrowheads etc. Would you all be interested in seeing some of the photos I took? I ask because I personally love these type of collections, and also we are fishermen after all. Most of my photos aren't to close up on the really big glass cases as to try and show the extent of his collection, and also my camera is a cheapo digital. There is a MONSTER bass someone caught and I have a photo of it on the wall. It sits above this desk, and it's about as big as the desk If you guys are interested tonight I can try and clean up a few photos, and put them on my website.

World record bass..or is it????
It should count. Most fish are brought from other areas to other states. For example hybrids, and also stripers aren't native to Oklahoma. It grew that big and was still alive, someone caught it, so I feel it should count. It would be no different if that fish was left in a huge pond IN the original state, and someone caught it there. The fish still got that big, and no one cheated to catch it.

How would you approach this lake?
I fished this last sat. all through yest. I think it was to cold to catch anything. I did see one guy catch two small white bass on a jig and bobber, and then didn't catch anything the rest of the day. I fished worms, spinners, jerkbaits, lipless cranks, and jigs. I had no such luck those 3 whole days. I did get sunburned though.

Help from the pros
Jack, I went to spavinaw creek this weekend, and also up the street to grand (below the dam) Spavinaw was pretty and clear, but the drive up wasn't to appealing lol. I had quite a bit of hits below grand at the dam, but spavinaw I think was to shallow. So this upcoming weekend, it's also going to be around the same above conditions. Any more suggestions? Thanks again

Help from the pros
Hi all. Ok so I have been fishing since saturday morning, and want to go tomorrow as well, but need some advice, prayers answered, something lol. Saturday morning here it was raining and we only had a high of 48 degrees. Needless to say, it was freezing, and got no bites, nothing. Today was very pretty, but very windy, so this ruined the day. I think I might have gotten some hits on worms, but since it was so windy, it may have been the wind blowing my rod around. I am wanting to go tomorrow, and would like to know what all you would recommend, and what lures you have got fish with in 50 - waters. Tomorrow should be mostly sunny, winds only 5-10 and that's not constantly. I threw today and yesterday (7am-4pm both days) about everything I have lol. Worms, grubs, rooster tails, rat l traps, jerkbaits, etc. I tried texas rig, and wacky rig. Did not pitch jigs, nor use carolina rig. Please tell me I can catch bass in 40-50 degree water :'( Thanks a million

Small ponds and rock quarrys.
Well there are several ways to tell. One is to wait a little while and see if there are nests being made in the shallows. Another way is to throw rooster tails, and lipless crankbaits. *rat-l traps* Also if the pond/small lake has alot of weeds, and stumps in the water, there has to be at least a couple in there. You can also buy some live bait, or use a perch you catch, and try that way.

Pre Spawn advice
Thanks for the suggestions. I normally fish in the spring, but I hope to land momma this weekend.

Non-Boating.
Bass hide in weeds, and in cover (stumps in the water, fallen trees, under tree over hangs etc). Also if you know where the channels underneath the water are, or where possibly the lake feeds another body of water (same with streams) you can find them there too. I don't have a boat either, and I catch alot of fish. Boats only allow you access to some spots, otherwise unaccessable to you. (can you imagine trying to walk around a 5,000 acre lake? lol) Good luck man!

prespawn

Pre Spawn advice
Ok I thought this as well. Thanks so far for the replies gents. Clooney, I will be fishing in somewhat clear water, cold fronts off and on past couple of weeks (so I am thinking the fish will be down about 8-25 ft give or take) and I was also wanting to run breaks, if deep got notta. Here is my pre-judgement on this weekend. I know what the temp will be 55+ all days. I know it will be partly cloudy, and the water hole has good brush, and breaks. It has deeper spots too. I plan to slow worm fish early morning. Since it will be cloudy, I plan to use mellon, oil, watermellon, or green worms. If this works well, I will stay with this, if not, I will go to my mini traps next (cray colored). If success from here and no longer from original idea, stick with this. If traps don't work, try spinner baits (rooster tails smaller ones) or jigs. Is this a thought out plan for the most part or change it up? Thanks again

Pre Spawn advice
Would I be better just taking out with me smaller traps, some worms, and some jigs?...or just taking worms and sticks? I am going this weekend and also monday, and just wondering if I should take the whole tacklebox, or just the above? What's working for you all right now, is helpful to know as well. Thanks
