  1. I was in maybe 4 ft. of water too, forgot to add that and to lazy to go fix lol
  2. Just to throw a reply here too, saturday was HOT and humid, and the bun beating down. I caught a 6 pound bass under lilly pads. I also wasn't using a smaller bait either....green peppered 5 inc. senko. I also have seen really big bass in the shallows with the sun beating down, but can usually never get them to strike.
  3. In my plano, I put the lizards, grubs, (things I don't use often) under or on the back of the flat holder. Then I keep all the senko bags together, worms etc. It's actually hard to explain now that I think about it. lol
  4. R.W. hey C-rigged, how do you fish a senko without weight???
  5. I haven't fished with one lure in forever, and doubt I ever will again.
  6. Usually I get the strike OFF the bottom, not on the fall. Now it happens on the fall, but not even 50% for me.
  7. While on the topic of senkos....I buy senkos from someone local, and they are HANDS DOWN, the best senko you will ever fish with! Yami's work no doubt, but people catching many fish with them know, they fall apart in no time flat. This guy hand pours them, they are cheap ($3.00 for 10, or $5.00 for 25) and you get alot, and a pleasure to work with. Just thought I would help you guys find this site and use the best I have found. If you write them, tell them Brice sent ya www.aandmbaits.com
  8. Al, maybe this will help. http://www.fishingnotebook.com/fish/fillet.html
  9. It comes down to I feel anyways, if you can get it out and they bled a little, more than likely the bass will be just fine. Things obstructing their belly=not good. I have tried that trick from that site, and it does work sometimes. I wish I had an answer other than puase on the hookset a tad longer. :-/
  10. http://www.kevinvandam.com/products.htm The # scrolling at the top might be the most help
  11. Yes people do, and some say it's good. Me, no.
  12. I have said the whole time L.N. should be #1
  13. Yeah I doubt money is going to come your way, except for maybe the lure you used to get it. (strike king for example might endorse you for the worm you used), but more than likely, they'll pay you for using the photo/credits and give you a years supply of lures lol I would release it and have seriously thought about it. Plus once you catch the record, someone else will break it. You can still have your name in the books=get it certified. Big real dead fish on my wall collecting dust, or a replica collecting dust...I'll go with fake.
  14. The posts where you guys say no way...you can always keep the fish in the livewell until someone can come weigh the fish and get it certified.
  15. I would and already promised the man upstairs I would.
  16. Welcome to the addiction.
  17. There are fillet pictures out on the internet everywhere that can help you fillet Yeah this site is wonderful.
  18. Honestly, ponds are very expensive if you do them right.
  19. Welcome ;D
  20. Never seen that for sure. The closest I have ever gotten to something like that, was I caught one black bass, and there was another one running right beside it. Had I thrown a crankbait or a long minnow, maybe?..... Nice big hawg you got there. the 3 acre pond sounds mighty lovely too. ;D
  21. Fert. helps...look at lake fork lol
  22. I would say bluegill too. If they are tapping it really really fast and usually more than 2 times, it's more than likely not a bass. To set the hook, just take the slack out, and pull 12 o clock fast. Once you feel the 1st tap, pull straight up.
  23. Fish here anyways are deeper too. Maybe it's that? I have been getting skunked right now too...from the shore anyways.
  24. Golf courses always seem to hold some hawgs in their waters. My brother caught a NICE fish the other day in one. Nice fish man. They are pretty good sized for sure.
