  1. Back to jocassee again this past Saturday. Caught my best smallmouth to date.
  2. Went to Murray and Jocassee over the last few days. Fish all over beds on Murray. Sight fishing was good in the sun. This nice one bit a shakey head at Jocassee yesterday. That lake has some Pigs! Cant wait till they make on the beds also.
  3. Lake Murray! a local lake to me. Glad to see one nearby finally. just fished it this past monday in the exact same area. They had a tough day, as it can be in that section. I only fish that lower part when sight fishing. Looking forward to see how they do on future episodes in different areas of the lake. This was mid june of last year. I remember it was very tough at that time for mid lake area for me.
  4. Bought two Hudds three weeks ago. Lost one to a cast off with braid/flouro 20lb leader and the other to a fish after i had landed one fish earlier in the day. Wish i had read this thread earlier. Got two more on the way and a new roll of 30lb Vicious FL sitting on my desk to spool on when i get home this evening!
  5. i would not go to Erie, especially anywhere near Presque Isle Bay. You will read post after post about 100 fish days and huge smallies. Only when you get there, you will find huge waves, tons of boats, hordes of fisherman and very tough fishing. I had high hopes for the last two years for week long june trips. Very let down. Caught 15-20 fish per day anyway, but nothing over 3lbs. I would look at Ontario or Champlain. I dont plan to go North again for a year or two. Made the drive for the last 4 years up that way. Champlain was the best. Near Plattsburg and north.
  6. I would think fish will be all over the banks on 4/14. Wacky rig senko and square bill cranks should get you a limit pretty easy. That should a dream time to be on Pickwick as well! Hope you catch a bunch!
  7. I was down 3 weekends ago. Put in at Jacks Creek . Caught 5 bass in that immediate area. Very dangerous lake to navigate. FLW tourny is next week , BFL is the wkd after i believe. If you have a boat, i would spend some time watching the pros and some of the areas they are fishing. Fish are all over the trees and pads now. Just so much area to cover is the big issue.
  8. When is your tournament? I spent a week there last june. Ledge fishing at that time of course.
  9. I wasnt in the BFL saturday. These would have been nice if so! lol Funny how the big mamas seem to know when you arent tx fishing.
  10. One of these days, i will start driving to lake Guntersville. Then i will drive past it and go to Pickwick!
  11. Pretty good saturday evening. Fish finally moving up a little. Hot weather later this week should get things fired up! These were in 8-10 feet. 57 degree water.
  12. Will, i think the majority of people got it as well when i posted it. It was cold weather, not a single mention of the classic, nor any posts about Hartwell. I have fished Hartwell for 36 years. Its a great lake. I dont fish it as much now due to all the pressure it receives. Publicity will do that to a good lake. I still fish most every weekend ,except during prime hunting season! I just dont go to hartwell as often. Classic starts tomorrow and they will slay the fish!! Im heading down to the expo on Sunday with the kiddos.
  13. I was directly referring to you not having a sense of humor at all. Most anyone should have noticed my post was pure satire, related to the classic at Hartwell. You live near the best lake in the country!! In my opinion. Had a great week at champlain a few years ago.
  14. Start using bigger baits. You will easily top that if you do. Nice start!
  15. This forum doesnt appreciate great info on Hartwell. ( see my closed thread)
  16. Did you ever get any tips?
  17. Yeah, the admin has no sense of humor at all. Wouldnt even reply to my DM , haha! i was just in the mood to joke around a little. Going to hartwell again tomorrow. But ,most likely, i will be after crappie. Planning a trip to Santee next weekend. Should be on like crazy down there for bass! Good luck and let me know how you do on Harris.
  18. The entire fishing population of eastern NC will likely be on that lake from now til June. Nothing like extreme viral publicity to attract the world. lol. 28lbs only got 3rd place last weekend in a tournament there. It still produces for some, no doubt about it! Good luck!
  19. They will most likely be done with the spawn, if that is what you are expecting to target. Last time i went ,first weekend in April, two years ago, empty beds everywhere. I was in the lower section of the upper lake. As mentioned, it is very dangerous and not very well marked. After two days, me and my son packed up and went to Murray for our last day of fishing. Bass were all over the banks, and we really hammered them on wacky rigs and frogs. Murray is also very easy to navigate and find fish in april. I would go there instead.
  20. Well, that didnt go very well for me. Since nobody would help, i had zero day! Couldnt even win my one man tournament! I left the new boat in the pot for next saturday! Ill be at Greenpond this weekend. Ill be the wannabe riding with a pro in a Phoenix! You can shake our hands and get autographs at weigh in. We will be standing next to the guys with the winning sacks! But we will be prettier!
  21. Dang! Now you know thats alot of work! They have to go to the lake all the time, even in the cold! WHO likes to fish in the cold????? Its much easier to just follow them around and steal their spot when they leave em biting to hit another area.
  22. no one fishing Hartwell right now?
  23. Hey everyone, I need to find a place to catch 50-60 bass tomorrow on Lake Hartwell, SC. Can anyone give me an exact spot to fish? I wont need to know what lures, just exactly where they are located. I havent been on the lake in a year, but , i decided to have a one man tournament tomorrow. My own bassmaster classic. Need to see how i compare to the big dawgs that are coming in March. I probably wont eat but 10-12 of the better ones. I prefer spots in the 3-4lb range for the skillet. Please respond right away as i have to sneak and peek at this while im at work. By the way, im competing for a new Bullet 22SF if i win my tournament tomorrow. Thanks for the help! See you at the ramp maybe. Prob put in at Broyles. Another tx going out of there and i want to show my YUGE catch!
  24. Ive caught stud Spots in Burton as long as 20 years ago. Id say now that it must have some true giants in it. LM were always huge in there as well. No smallies in that lake i know of. Fontana has big spots on the lower end and Smallies all over the lake.
  25. I can tell you the fishing from Barcelona harbor east for 5 miles is terrible. I changed my trip from PIB to Western NY last minute. Its like 5 miles of dead sea in that area, even tho it looks like perfect habitat. As for PIB, i have read 100's of posts and write ups of how great it is and 100+ fish days. However, that has not been my experience after 7 days last year and another 4 days on Erie this year in June. Guess i just hit it at the wrong time.
