  1. That looks pretty good as a set up. I drive standard but it looks like it should clear legs and all. lol
  2. I haven't really found a good spot for it in my car yet. Thought about mounting a holster in there but haven't gotten around to it.
  3. There is a lot of good info in the "Best Of" pinned topic at the top of this forum. I would read all 5 of the posts under the "Structure Fishing" section. One in particular "Cartography" may help you in what you are looking for. Good luck out there!
  4. My vehicle for one instance... Just like how I don't just put a seatbelt on only when I feel I might drive in a reckless area. I wear my gun 24/7 unless I am staying home for the night, and since I wear it so often, I prefer a package (AIWB) I can access in any position (seated, standing, running, knocked on your back...) Just like insurance you never know when you'll need it but it will be d**n good to have. Just my thought process and I don't expect everyone to adhere to it.
  5. Little late to the party but you can catch Catfish and Carp on youtube. Luke recently put out a vid on his setups and that man catches some serious cats...
  6. That's reason enough for me.
  7. I saw some chatterbaits for redfish this past weekend and was thinking "I could throw that for bass..." then coincidentally this post came up. As Catt said though, I love me some red traps...
  8. Lol. From the title I thought you were talking about using redfish lures for bass.
  9. For me, any green pumpkin or black and blue variation will get the job done depending on conditions. Though I do have a soft spot in my heart for pb&j senkos.
  10. Went to the local tackle shop in my area. Picked up a Pad crasher, Livertarget sunfish, a couple SK Naked Rage Blades, some Roboworms, and some Brush Hogs. Also picked up a new longsleeve.
  11. I tie an FG knot during prep but not good enough yet to do it on the boat; usually a uni on the water if the leader gets too short. I have had no issues with the FG so far going from 15# braid to 10# flouro.
  12. +1 Though I do not have experience with the Ugly Stik Elite so I cannot really compare them. I do have the LRS and think it is a great budget rod.
  13. I recently gave my friend a couple 3600 boxes of tackle since his was stolen. It had about 10 or 12 traps in it and didn't dent my stash. You can say I like em a lot as well lol
  14. I don't know how much you like to fish lipless cranks but I might add a red eye shad or two in 1/2 oz. My favorite is anything with gold in it. The new tungsten 2 taps are nice.
  15. I also like to pitch these into pads and grass. Once it's in you can work all areas of the water column depending on how you retrieve it.
  16. Good points Mike, I also received good service/fast shipping. Though I do live in FL where the company is supposedly located. Probably helped shipping time for me.
  17. Hi Barry, Welcome to BR! What were you ordering from SA?
  18. Gold/Black Back is the ticket for me.
  19. Glock 19, extra mag. Worn at all times, especially when fishing.
  20. I also recommend a trailer. Also be sure to keep an eye out on the forecasts. I went out yesterday in 20 MPH winds (in a pretty wind sheltered waterbody mind you) and I spent more time fighting the wind than I did fighting fish.
  21. Baitcasting would be my Lews LFS. It may be one of the cheaper ones I have but I love that thing. Spinning would be my Stradic CI4+ as it is my first that is not a $25 rod and reel combo.
  22. I use a small size 6 as well. Also use the same for wacky rig senkos most of the time.
  23. I agree flat floor would be best. Walls are not high enough to hinder fishing, at least in my experience.
  24. When you bring her out to the water to do your maiden voyage/testing, I would include a stability test in that list. You will want to see how far above the floor you feel comfortable standing. You may find it not worth the effort. Either way good luck with the new boat.
