Spinnerbaits
I'm a spinnerbait guy myself, but no how deadly senko's can be. Just don't have the patience. For spinnerbaits there is a bunch of really good brands. War eagle and heavy cover are 2 of my old favorites. Lately I've been a big fan of S.W.A.G spinnerbaits. They have some of the best spinnerbaits on the market at a reasonable price.

Netbait Hardytack Craw?
I didn't know they came out with a new craw. I'll have to check it out. They look very interesting. I've been a huge fan of the paca craw for the last couple of years.

Anyone Fish This Company And Whats Your Favorite Jig N Pig/craw Setup?
Havne't heard of them before, but they have some interesting stuff, but for jigs I use a company called S.W.A.G jigs. They have some awesome jigs and if your looking for a dense skirt they have it! I've never seen skirts with so much material in them before. The cool thing about them is they have a special skirt collar that makes the skirt flair out more. If your looking to fish a mix of wood and rock they have a new jig head style that should be coming out here in the next couple of days that is going to be really good. Will be perfect for fishing deep points where you never know what is going to be down there. Check back in for some pics of the new jigs at www.swagjigs.com The website is still a work in progress but coming along nicely. Here is a football head jig

Sk Elaztech Plastics
I always liked their fluke style bait. It floats so its just like a weedless walk the dog surface bait, rather than a normal fluke that sinks. The zero is also pretty good. Its not as durable cause its loaded with salt, but still alot more durable than any other senkos. Just don't put them in a box or bag with any other plastics cause they will melt together.

Lookin' To Start Punchin'
Here is what I use for a punch setup 7'6" heavy fast citrus stick CSH pflueger patriarch 7.1:1 65lb powerpro 1oz tungsten weight punch skirt yum money craw for punching I like a compact craw like the money craw. It doesn't have extra tenticles or anything and seems to slide through pretty well. The punch skirt I use is made by S.W.A.G. jigs. If you have a facebook page you can look them up there, but the website isn't up yet swag jigs. The band they use to hold the skirt on really makes it flair out nicely once it has come through the slop. I use a bobber stop above my weight to hold it in place

Chatterbaits
I love them. I catch alot more and a lot bigger fish on chatterbaits than spinnerbaits on most occasions. I first used a zman and it was GARBAGE! I used Karu lures for a long time until they quit selling them online. I still have a bunch that use, but I will say that I fished a tournament with a guy today that was using a 1/4ounce zman and was wacking them. I told him that I thought they were junk and he showed it to me and they changed the head, the snap and the hook. It looks alot more durable now.

Swim Jigs?
I love me some swim jigs. Around here it seems like post-spawn-fall they are killer! My uncle got me hooked a few years ago and i've never looked back. I throw em in some stuff that you normally couldn't fish. I like a S.W.A.G jigs, lil dripper swim jig. I tend to stay pretty simple in colors. White or black/blue for me and i generally throw 1/4 ounce. It seems to be the best size for fishing around heavy grass. WIth a curly tail grub you can fish it across the top just like a buzzbait.

Buzzzzbaits
I have a bunch of 1/4 and 3/8 ounce cavitrons in just about every color and love them all. They all have a situations where 1 produces the other, but you can't go wrong with black/black or black/ gold blade get them in both 1/4 and 3/8 ounce

Biodegradable Baits?!?!

What is the Best Spinning reel...
I'm glad I read this. I was in the market for some new spinning reels, but don't use spinning much so I didn't want to spend a fortune. I was at gander mountain and just as I was walking out the door I saw a sale flier that the exceller on sale for 39.99 today only so I bought a couple and I really like them. Can't wait to get out on the water.

Painting a rod
I don't think it will be a problem. There is more than 1 rod company out there right now that are painting their blanks.
-
super tuning?
Link doesn't work, but i have a few reels that are supertuned. Its nice, especially on old or cheap reels. You can cast farther with it, but the biggest thing for me was being able to cast the same distance, with much less effort and you can make quieter, more accurate casts because you aren't throwing your bait with all your might. With the money IMO

VIENTO OR NO VIENTO
For the original price I would have never bothered with it, but for 90$ I think its a good reel. Twitchin bar seems to be in the way for me. I'm going to try and take it off before season. I haven't got to fish it yet, but casting around the yard its definately worth 90$ and definately not worth 210. lol

Mississippi River Bassin'
I primarily fish 13 and occasionally 14, but don't bother wasting my time going south any farther. lol Frogs are hard to beat, but my favorite techinuqe is throwing a spinnerbait or chatterbait parrellel with grass along the dredge cuts or along the current areas.

NRX
Am I missing something? I looked at the gloomis website at the NRX and all I saw was a black blank with blue wrap on the guides? I thought it looked real good, but no way I pay that kind of price for it! I don't think I've really seen a rod yet that I think is just god awful and I have a few citrus sticks and love them!

7:1 Why?
What kind of reels are you using that you are switching them around? I didn't realize this was possible. I use all pfluegers and haven't heard of doing this before on them.
-
7:1 Why?
Its a personal opinion thing. I have a mix of both and will generally use the high speed on all of my jig and soft plastics and frogs. A lot of times with those techniques it seems like you are fishing 1 small key area. You are casting to cover along the bank and if you don't get bit in the first 10-15ft you can burn it back to get another cast out there. The reason I like it for frog fishin is if a fish misses the frog I can burn it in super fast and get another cast back out in the sweet spot before it loses interest. Its also nice for fish that try to make a run for the boat.

Custom rod?
http://www.alxrods.com/index.html Alex makes some good rods.

Thoughts on rod balancing.
A well balanced rod is important in my opinion. It increases sensitivity and reduces fatigue. You can fish alot longer throughout the day because you aren't working as hard. I think this is more important when fishing texas rigs, frogs, shakey heads, drop shots or something where you aren't constantly haveing pull on the rod. Throwing spinnerbaits I generally have my rod pointed down and the pull of the bait is going to counter react any good balance. Citrus sticks have introduced a new balance system for their rods, that is interesting because it doesn't change the length of the rod and other than weight you will never know it is added on because you simply replace the butt section with a heavier one or lighter one.

Big Bite Bait Co
Make sure to give there biobait a try! I got some biobait crawtubes awhile back and when I couldn't buy a bite on a tube, I slaughtered em on the biobait tubes. Same concept as gulp, but it doesn't dry out. Great product IMO.
